  1. Yeah, loved his game. '21 season was Beasley-esque. Don't quote me, but his catch rate was ridiculous (maybe 80%+), along w amazing success rate. But, as @BarleyNY mentioned, he had serious health issues, along w injuries in '22 season. Too bad: the kind of "not the best athlete but great technician" player that one can easily root for.
  2. Agreed, good idea. Preseason should be labeled as: TS/SCI/HCS/NOFORN/ORCON HCS: Humint, for players only NOFORN: non-US personnel should not be subjected to this crap ORCON: originator-controlled distribution...so we'll allow @Simon to control all flow of information
  3. Well, he did get caught with a hot .38 in his carry-on luggage, so maybe that helped a bit. /s
  4. Luv ya Drac, but I'm gonna be pedantic: this is a very Clinton-esque question, so I don't know how to reply. (Meanwhile, we need more vids of you on bass. Love the pinky hammer-ons and pull offs, which are freaking hard to do...for us amateurs)
  5. Love the write-ups. Really appreciate the post. But favorite part this edition: the pic of #22. Why? I'm basically his height, and a very solid 176+ after many, many years of training. But Davis outweighs me by 40 pounds...of (mostly) muscle!! These athletes are just unbelievable, freakish specimens. (Please understand: not turning this into "Kincaid is skinny" thread. Just emphasizing the difference bn pro athletes and us regular folks)
  6. Maybe a typo, but "domes to mind" is brilliant wordplay. I'm stealing this phrase, with all attribution back to you MGK!
  7. Good analysis. I'm impressed by board members who can work thru these team-by-team matters rather quickly. (Then again, I'm a self-reported dumb sh*t on these types of things)
  8. How do you know we haven't done that already? Indeed, it was my "go to" for any recalcitrant detainee. //s
  9. I'm going to start a new thread here. Title: What Are We Not Talking About That We Should Be Talking About?
  10. Incredible, beautiful story Dawg, and well-written. JA is THE 29-yo we want leading a $4B franchise. Meanwhile, TSW needs to add a "Double Awesome" reaction. I'm looking at you @Simon!!
  11. I get your point brother, and realize you said "conversation". But, I don't know man... have you ever done a no-sh*t interrogation, esp of someone (non-English speaking), when you know he and his group are trying to kill you and your colleagues? Try playing dumb, at least for a strategic moment or two. Results can be...plentiful.
  12. Bills, other teams, the League itself: all employ ex-cops to conduct these investigations. Reading the actual filed complaint, experienced investigators would be well aware of, and check, the absolute "knowables": (1) if an immediate report was filed w "local law enforcement" (language in complaint) (2) if a SANE test was indeed conducted Naturally, there are other material facts that can be discovered with relatively minimal digging. Snapchat is another matter entirely, unless local LEO, at time of alleged incident report, had access to, and then preserved, that information.
  13. Good point WEO. A good friend of mine, Peter Landesman (shameless name-dropping) wrote and directed the CTE-related movie, Concussion. At the time, there was quite a bit of push back from The Shield, so I asked him if he thought his film would fundamentally change things. His reply, paraphrasing, "not a fu*king chance".
  14. Kurt Schulz. Married a HS friend of mine, so I got to know him fairly well through the years. Extremely good guy, and has had a successful, post-NFL career advising players financially. Anyway, as you know, he is/was not a big dude. But, holy crap: I've played pickup basketball and hockey w him, and one cannot imagine the difference b/n us normies and truly gifted athletes. The guy is incredible, even into his early 50s (he's now left WNY).
  15. Brother, I had my first and only at 43. It was/is...taxing. No idea how you're surviving. (aaand...back to your regularly scheduled thread)
  16. Again just popping in quickly: some solid arguments made on both "sides". I'm impressed w PPP which, well, sometimes doesn't have the best rep, lol! @ComradeKayAdams we may have different perspectives on domestic or geopolitical issues, but I "liked" you bc you present (fr what I've seen) reasoned, sober thinking. Seriously, I respect that. But...I will briefly take issue with your statement: “Imminent” = on the order of days or weeks or months, not a year or longer. There has been ZERO evidence suggesting the danger was imminent. Perhaps some folks here have/had what is called CNWDI or Q clearance. If so, they might understand my gentle suggestion: When one looks syncretically re the corpus of current and historical evidence (open or otherwise) of the IR NWP--or even data of other nuclear powers--there is most assuredly an "imminent path" from A to B. What one does with that understanding is another matter entirely. I'm not trying to be overly opaque...but it's what I can offer here.
  17. Quick comment, as normally I read entire threads before I weigh in (I don't have the chance right now). Just general atmospheric statement, based on experience: many, many, many things go bump in the night. So, I suspect we publicly know a tiny slice of ground-truth, and the related operations. This would include not only precise BDA, but also (potential) follow-on ops, across any spectrum one might imagine. I'll eschew any political comment. Out here, DSK
  18. Very interesting analytic framework. Well done, sir.
  19. Dear sweet baby Jesus, Please don't let this guy pull a hammy in, say, late November. Is that too much to ask? Sincerely, (most) Bills fans
  20. Very well said boater, good on 'ya. I fear too many of us live with Survivor's Guilt. It's punishing.
  21. Thank you my friend: I am very familiar with this letter, as are many I've known in the field. If there's a more eloquent description of service and sacrifice, I do not know about it.
  22. Hard core brother. Many thanks for doing this, in honor of LT Murphy (USN, SEAL).
  23. break/break Sherpa, above, reminds me of a thought: If you've lost someone to battle--or, ultimately, to the Ravages once the guns are silent--feel free to leave their names here, to be etched in TBD granite. For me, too damn many, so I'll just note: COL McCarthy, 5th Grp SGM Lamantia, 5th Grp Moses (callsign) CAPT Pollard, 5th Grp MSG Rendina, 107th Bama (callsign) Mikey (callsign)
  24. Deepest condolences for your would-be Uncle, and to Bruce Williams (I assume CMDR or above, I don't speak Navy). And thank you for your service...no kidding.
