Where was the defensive adjustment on Puka Nakua?
FireChans replied to 26TrapDraw's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah we had arguably our best defender with the best chance of stopping Nakua play him all night and he just got abused. Elam can’t really play inside though so it doesn’t really matter if he was active or not. I think Ingram would do better than Elam in that scenario. -
Carter in limited time has played better than Eddy imo. Ed has not looked like a $20M man this season. Maybe he has something nagging we don’t know about.

What about any negative thing? 9 guys on the field for the last play of the game? Mismanaging timeouts? does the head coach share blame? -

Are you saying you don't know what McD did well, but you're confident there's something he did? -

Technically, I think we technically have to blame it on the stadium being built on the burial ground -

Technically, McD gets credit for Josh having a better understanding of time, score and situation than him because he’s the HC. -

I haven’t the slightest idea what you mean. This is the first time we have ever spoken I think. -

There’s a much better chance a drafted QB has a worse career than Tyrod Taylor, -

What do you think he did well tonight? See here’s the thing. I can answer what Benford did well tonight, despite the defenses poor performance. I can answer what Josh did well tonight. Or Shakir. Or Mack freaking Hollins. And yet everyone weeping crocodile tears for the poor, maligned, defensive HC that got ripped apart AND bungled the end of game situation cannot answer a SINGLE THING he did well tonight. lmao. -

Okay. Being unable to answer a single thing that McDermott did well tonight is such an incredible self-own. Can’t make this stuff up. -
It’s never too early to have a discussion. That’s the point of a message board.

I care. You seem to indicate the players screwing up on the field isn’t on McD. Not enough players on the field for the punt return isn’t on McD. so what is on McD? Josh breaking 2 tackles to get a first down? Josh throwing a missile to Shakir who broke 3 tackles for a 50 yard TD? Mack Hollins making a contested back shoulder catch? Was that because of McD? -

What did he do, specifically, to lead the team to battle back against a high scoring offense? Just FYI, entering this week, the Rams were 20th in points scored. -

This impassioned defense of McD feels very hollow. What do you think he did well tonight? -
Matt didn’t look good last week but conditions were iffy so I waited to discuss this until I saw him in the Rams game. He looks very slow and hesitant out there. Now of course, the rest of the defense wasn’t much better so maybe it’s still too early to tell. It’s certainly possible he is just getting back to trusting his leg/knee in game-speed. I hope so, because this defense really needs another high level performer that plays closer to the LOS. What are your thoughts?

He’s coaching the offense in Detroit right now. He has a far worse QB and is the one seed and is the odds on favorite to play in the Super Bowl. ”You can’t guarantee the next QB will be better than Tyrod” energy lmao -

9 players on the field for the last play of the game is on the coaches. lol. McD cannot lose. His defense gets gashed, it’s the players fault. The defense plays well, he’s a coaching genius. The offense plays great, it’s because he “developed” Allen. The offense plays terrible, he doesn’t call the offensive plays, it’s not his fault. He’s unkillable. -

It is. Tyrod was fine. He took us to the WC round for the first time in 17 years. He clearly was not gonna get us to the next level and we canned him to find someone better. There were LOTS of posters afraid to let Tuh-rod go. Lots and lots. “He’s the best we’ve had since Kelly!” “He just broke the drought, we can’t get rid of him, we will be right back to missing the playoffs!” “What if the next QB sucks more?” so yeah. Same thing.
