I agree with all of this. I've found things much more enjoyable since I stopped watching/listening to it all many years ago. The TV goes on at kickoff and goes off when the game is over. I read this board only and the rare, well-written article that is linked here. Everything else I pay zero attention to. Give it a shot, you might find yourself more engaged by disengaging.

I don't think there are a lot of human minds that can genuinely comprehend the actual scope of the universe. You can probably replace "planet" with "galaxy", considering our little Milky Way galaxy has hundreds of billions of stars and that there are likely a trillion or more other galaxies in the universe. 🤯
