Actually yes! Thanks for reminding me - I know the original plan was to build onto Soldier Field yet again but now the plan is to move to a completely different site and new building. So yeah even that reno was abandoned. And yet it’s being floated here that “oh just rip out the rotting decks. Throw on a roof.” As if the league would have even agreed to that.

Might have been possible, might not have. Teams in general are loathe to trade stars within the conference if they can get a comparable offer out of conference, which the Titans did get.

not to mention there is no way in hell the league office and the other owners would have went for a billion dollar renovation of a 50 year old stadium. Never ever would have even been considered. Kirwan is pretty plugged in but there is no way they are even entertaining a sale in the middle of building a new stadium. Like no chance. Maybe he’s alluding to 10-12 years down the road?
