  1. This has been rumored and/or leaked by those around the Ravens but never confirmed.
  2. “What about the comp picks” yeah let’s let established guys walk for lottery tickets.
  3. Bro @Airseven is not a Bills fan. No use arguing with him.
  4. good breakdown 👍. Honestly I don’t know what the answer is at RB. i am hoping it’s a combination of Cook and Hines so they can focus on WR and OL.
  5. such good pulls thank you. Yes Dan Patrick nailed it. In every aspect. And it is about timing. Every single top tier QB that comes up (Lamar is just the first,) that Watson deal is hanging over owner’s heads like the sword of Damocles. I mean, if I were them I’d boot the Haslems right along with Danny.
  6. so are they win now mode or no? Because I don’t care about a 3rd round pick if we get a healthy (and I understand that’s a dicey proposition) Poyer for another year. It’s not an obvious decision either way so I get you there. But I don’t think comp picks should come into it at all, not for this team right now.
  7. No one should be worried about chasing comp picks. So stupid. This board has an obscene obsession with these things. I never understood it.
  8. oh no problem then I’m with u
  9. Fairly recently? i mean he’s been out of the league for a bit but Welker was 5’8” 180 tops.
  10. you wanted them to pay Edmunds $18M+ a year? I absolutely wouldn’t. I’m not even an Edmunds hater but that was surely a luxury contract by the Bears because they have so much cap space.
  11. sure, but doesn’t Watson’s off the field history also make him a ridiculous gamble for the Browns? Yes, if Watson does something similar again (allegedly), the Browns most likely would not be on the hook to pay him out (because he’ll be suspended or outright banned from the league). But they would still be back at square one, with no QB, and having F*ed the market up, for nothing. Honestly I hope that happens.
  12. Honestly, that’s a big part of it I’d bet. And, while we can debate which one is actually the better QB, Lamar, to his credit: 1. Has the better W-L record (yes I know wins are team stats, not QB stats); 2. Has an MVP; 3. Isn’t a complete scumbag.
  13. I honestly don’t know why they didn’t negotiate in earnest after season 3. Maybe he rightly suspected the deals would start to get nutty if he waited another year (they did.) that could have also been a mistake on his part sure, since the more he played into that rookie deal, the more risk of injury (which also happened.)
  14. I think they most certainly were a well run org when Newsom was calling all the operational shots. Not sure that’s so true now with DeCosta. (Yes I know Newsom is still there at the VP level.)
  15. don’t think that was an option under the rules bud. Drafted rookies have to wait until after their 3rd season to start to negotiate a new deal (as I understand it.) EDIT: ”Renegotiations: Rookie contracts for drafted players can't be renegotiated or altered in any way until after the last regular-season game of the third contracted year. Undrafted rookies must wait until after their second season to amend a contract. Any rookie contract that is renegotiated or extended in any way is no longer considered a rookie contract and is not restricted by the rules governing such contracts.” https://www.nfl.com/_amp/2023-nfl-free-agency-explainer-vital-information-on-franchise-tags-contract-term
  16. Yep. The fact that some people are arguing “well, shoulda took the $133M” is ludicrous.
  17. that’s basically it. Is Jackson probably overvaluing himself? Sure. He’s far from the only one. Not a knock against him. I hit on it earlier in the thread and you just reiterated it - Jackson is in the crosshairs simply because the owners are adamant against reinforcing the precedent set by Cleveland. Doing another deal similar to that completely opens the floodgates as it relates to top-tier QBs. Jackson’s timing couldn’t be worse, in simpler terms. He seems quite willing to stick to his guns however, so good for him.
  18. Eh, doesn’t seem like a complete troll account, but certainly not anything I’d call credible. When you see someone with as many followings as followers, that’s a red flag on twitter. Mean’s they do a lot of “you follow me I’ll follow you” stuff. they appear to be something like that yes. Or they’re closer to Trainwreck sports, which in that case don’t believe a word of it.
  19. knowing them, they’ll probably just sign 4 more tight ends.
  20. and yet still posted a respectable ypc.
  21. hynes is gone - they aren’t going to give him $5mil or whatever his number is. I did look at all of them - yes he had 12 TDs of 1-3 yards out.
  22. is that a serious question? Why wouldn’t they be?
  23. as hilarious as this sounds on its face, given that we’re talking about an NFL owner, this ABSOLUTELY tracks and I would be unsurprised if true.
