Stroud is a better passer than Allen already, not as good, better. I think at this point the trade offer would be Allen and a first for Stroud and the Texans would still reject it. Allen is on the decent already and has a massive contract, Stroud is coming up and cheap for years to come.

Maholmes is struggling, but at very least he has Reid on his side and knows what Andy teaches is a winning philosophy. Josh doesn’t have that. Also, Maholmes came up in a system that had more to work with and they had no D, so they spent there to get that, but they also invested a lot of draft capital in the offense, a lot of those picks haven’t worked out the way they might have wanted, but it looks like Rice is pretty good, and Pacheco is a starting RB, they definitely don’t have great WRs though. The Bills essentially have given Allen, Diggs and just wasted a ton of resources on the D. It’s not like he’s ever had anything to work with and is being supported by not having to be perfect. Again, Allen has regressed, a lot. That said, I have to put that at 20% him, 30% terrible roster management and 50% coaching.

So you are cool with “good enough” and won’t take a chance to be great. This fear the world mentality gets you no where.

I think this is the real situation. I don’t think he trusts what he’s being taught and that’s leading to hesitation. I think there’s a pretty strong lack of faith in Davis at this point too, he seems to double take before throwing to him and it’s causing problems. Josh is playing terrible, no two ways about that. Unfortunately, we are looking at Carolina w Newton all over again. We are relying on the QB to play Superman with basically one weapon and a bunch of JAGs, wasting resources on the D, and multiple picks on RBs. Without an MVP, near perfect season from Allen, the team loses. This is not a winning model and it’s certainly not sustainable. A big reason we have the geniuses we have in charge here today was that poor model that allowed you to win in the regular season and get blown up in the playoffs, while running their unicorn into the ground. We were fortunate enough to land an extra magical unicorn and in short order, have him on the way to the slaughter house.

Plain and simple, he’s not better than any of the current starters out there. He is on par with Darnold, plus he’s a dick. I don’t see it as much of an improvement to be honest. I’m surprised the Jets didn’t find someone to make a deal for at the deadline or try to resurrect the corpse of Matt Ryan / Flacco. Bet they are wishing the could have held onto White instead of being handcuffed with Wilson, I bet they would have another 2-3 wins if they had.

Kinda looks like they already have. Players only meetings generally aren’t ringing endorsements to the coaching staff. If players feel they have to hold each other accountable bc the coaches aren’t doing it effectively, it had better work and quick or the coaches will be done.

We need a massive reset year. I’d pull the plug on every single S on this team, just start over. On the DL, only Groot and Oliver by virtue of the contract would stay. If by chance I can get Jones back at a reasonable price, I’m in, but you gotta have another option, he can’t stay healthy. Make Von a June 1 designation. On O, at very least, Davis is out. Gotta try to do something with Knox, ask him to take less or whatever, but that contract vs the production and Kincaid in the picture, gotta make that better. Morse.. ehh, Schnoman.. ehhh, probably gotta keep him. Absolutely must go get a RT. RB is STILL a mess. Cook is not it, he’s what he was in college, a glorified WR, still a liability in pass pro. Nobody on the roster deserves a spot next year, though Cook will be back bc of his cost. Still need 2 outside WRs, we have nothing outside of Diggs. Oh and the most obvious, a new coordinator. What I expect to happen, is Dorsey gets canned, they sign a mid-level #2WR, OL dumpster diving. Defense remains largely unchanged, just run it back healthy, without Floyd and Poyer. The same loser coaching gets us the same ***** results and I sit here saying “I told you all McDermott is just this generations Marv Lewis” for about 4 more years, then Allen will eventually get dinged up and be done, we have the Cam Newton Carolina Panthers all over again. Wasted time/talent/resources on defense and rely on a QB to be Super Man for offense.

Step one to fixing the Defense is SIT VON MILLER. He’s a liability. Every time he’s on the field it takes AJE, Groot or Floyd off the field and right now, he’s not better than any of them at anything. I don’t know if he will regain form, but the defense is worse with him on the field and it’s not close. Real question, WTF happened to Taron Johnson, it’s like he forgot what inside leverage is. Safety is everything I was afraid it would be, two old men trying to keep up with athletic freaks that are at least 5 years younger than them and a guy who just flat out sucks. Oh and some special teamers. McClappy has his work cut out for him with zero quality at LB (while Bernard is out), a bunch of sub par athletes at corner, geezers or whiffs waiting to happen at S and no pass rush or run stuffing abilities to speak of.

Exactly, by and large, that team is built of street FA and practice squad players. They have a couple of really good players and about 45 that are below average.

The grounding cost a shot at 3 points. Could have been a huge difference in score and momentum. The int was awful on Allen, BUT there was no effort on Davis’s part to do anything about it either.

Didn’t notice him being the guy they were going to on the INT and the grounding call? His inability to read situations makes him more risk than reward. It’s time people see him for what he is, a liability.
