It’s funny, my initial reaction was, “crap, they are back”, and I still think that COULD be the case. If he is healthy and can go full out, they are going to be trouble. Remember, Cam’s biggest threat was Ted Ginn and he won 15 games in a year. He’s everything we are hoping Allen can become when he’s healthy. The question is, is he healthy? If so, can he stay healthy?

I can’t agree with Julio that low, he’s the best talent in the league, ring him for injuries, but nobody is a better pure WR talent. Also, I think Hopkins is the better talent, but Thomas had the best seasons WR has ever had with a back up for 5 games and a 40 yr old an, not saying Breese isn’t great, but he’s not the man he was. Really hard to argue against what Thomas did.

Love the talent, but the pick and money isn’t viable on this roster. They have 5 guys who are all making good money and are good players. To bring him in, you have to get rid of 2 and give up a premium pick and rely more on Eppenesa to be ready to role as a rookie. While I think Murphy is out, you would also have to look at Hughes going too, I don’t see it happening. Contracts for the D have been set up to work with Allen, the new contracts end with his, so they have the ability to either blow it up and start over if he busts or let a bunch of Vets go to sign him. With such a huge question mark, it’s tough to go pay big money to another guy, especially when you have to decide on Tre, Dawkins, Milano etc who all will be paid a hefty premium or have to be replaced with pretty high picks.

I have said it here before and just to make sure it’s heard, outside of Buffalo, Allen is still looked at for what he is, a project. He’s not even in the conversation for top 10, it’s not even close. He’s right where Turbiski was after year 2, the team won mostly inspire of him, with a handful of wow plays. If you aren’t blinded by Buffalhope, then you see it. Everyone here claiming Dak sucks because he has everything going for him and they can’t win the big games, in the next breath claimed you had to give Allen weapons for him to shine. It’s insane. He will have to step up or step out this year, no more excuses, you can’t have the improvement on hitting short passes at the cost of missing everything down field, that’s not how that works. The COMPLETE game has to start showing up.

Unfortunately for KC, this means their window to win another championship just closed, it’s now and that’s that. They won’t be able to retain a lot of their talent, they have way too many big contracts already. It’s going to be a Green Bay type of deal in short order. Dak should be offering Maholmes and his agent some commission for the extra money they just made him. To me, this makes this year Allen’s absolute do or die year. If he can’t prove himself to be an elite QB, you have to look to the draft this coming year to replace him. You can’t commit 25+MM to him for year 5 if he’s not there after this year and you sure as hell cant be tossing 35MM plus for him annually at this level of performance. The worst thing to happen could be another year like last year where he flashes, but never puts it all together for more than a half. He’s got to show mastery of the fundamental throws this year and bring back his dual threat ability to make him worth keeping. If that doesn’t happen, you can’t lock up your salary cap for what he brings.

I was hoping for him, but Addison and drafting Epenesa basically killed that idea. You have about 30MM tied up in DEs already, not really looking to make that 40+ with no real studs.

Who would anybody outside of Buffalo say is the FAR better QB? Dak and its not close.

All the people here arguing Dak sucks seem to think there's no way the Bills can let Allen walk. Hysterical. Allen isn't even in the conversation ( outside of Buffalo) to be a top 10 QB, most think hes bottom 10 to be clear, but Dak sucks. Look Dak is better than average and far from elite, but as a guy who hasn't made ***** yet, I'd be holding out for every penny too. If Dallas won't give it to him (btw their leverage is gone after tagging him) then fine, gef tagged again next year and pay him 37M, then try to ask him to take less for longer.. the ball is in his court, why flinch?

He's going to be the best player we got from this draft and it won't be close. The guy has Leveon Bell potential. Epenesa was good value, but Moss will be boss, Singletary better be on notice. Knox had a concentration problem, not a hands issue, I for one think he will be absolutely fine with catching the ball this year. This will be the year of JuggerKnox.

I called this a solid option for Dalton, if for no other reason than putting tape together behind a good line with great weapons, hope to pull a Foles/Tannehill. His hope has to be getting a lot of preseason action to show he still has it, Dak either holds out or gets hurt, he gets to play with a stud cast and hopefully earns a big contract next year. Good move on his part. The only other places that made sense for a shot to earn a contract from the #2 role was going to be the Browns, Bills, Texans, Bucs, Steelers, Panthers or maybe Arizona. The Pats have nothing for weapons, but they could win games, not the best spot for a QB to go to get a contract. Browns and Bills both have weapons and a young qb, so injury risk is pretty low and both are pretty pot committed to their guy, so your not taking the job. Texans, Watson gets dinged up a lot, but no Hopkins and Bellicheck wannabe over there. Bucs and Steelers are banking on old men, but good teams. Panthers are ok, Teddy hasn't played a full season in years, always a chance of injury, Arizona has mobile and tiny qb, stacked w weapons and qb friendly system, I'd go there, but have to bet on Murry getting hurt there too. All things considered, Id go Bucs, but theres a cap problem. So Arizona and Dallas are next on my list. Whos interested and willing to pay? And here we are in Dallas.

Wallace isn't being traded unless somebody blows them away with an offer. Hes effective, cheap and young, all things you don't trade.

I see a lot of Brady in college in him. He beats you with intelligence and average everything else. Drew Henson was the golden boy in that era that never could take it away from Brady. From took out 2 other higher rated, more athletic QBs for his job. He has pretty good awareness, an accurate ball and average NFL arm strength. If you look around, the all time greats we have watched, Brady, Breese, Manning, all pretty much innthe same mold, average arms, accurate, beat you with their head. I am certainly not saying he will be anywhere near them, but I do think he can eventually start in the right system. Last year he got happy feet and wasn't as good as the past because of it, if that sticks with him, hes done before he starts, but if he gets back to confidence in the pocket, you could have anything from a good backup to a Kirk Cousins level starter ( and in a highly unlikely scenario, something better). This is the type of thing you can dream of in a 5th round pick. If he flops, oh well. At least it wasn't high pick.

Either would have been great to have along with all the other studs that were picked after him. That said, he did have an all-pro season, so it wasn't the talent that was the issue. Also, when he came out, people raved about his character and he was seen as the safest pick. Goes to show you what money and bad influences can do to people.

Hopefully, Eppy is an example of teams putting too much stock in the combine.

Same as any sport where hitting a ball is the objective, the speed of the object hitting it ultimately trumps mass. Most people equate strength with being able to swing, kick, throw hard, when the reality is the stronger you have to be to generate speed, the more you have to "force" the velocity and often are far less accurate. Having quick twitch, whip, whatever you want to call it is the key, strength is really more about joint preservation/having stamina to continue to kick. Nolan Ryan, Randy Johnson, Kershaw etc, lanky and get crazy whip, no forcing 100mph pitches. Jack Nicholas, Tiger, Rory, DJ, all crush a golf ball, not all the same size, not really that big either (Tiger had to deflate to get distance back). Looks at the best kickers, yes they tend to have built legs because or repetitive use, but they are rarely a bulky guy.

Look back 2 years and he was considered a top prospect. He beat out 2 other top prospects, he's not a bad player, just limited by an average arm.

There's a chance you pull a pick for a lineman on either side, they are always in demand. We dont have anybody on the backend of the WR rotation that justifies a pick outside of Roberts if somebody is DESPERATE for a returner and we should be keeping him for that. Hauska is possible if he has a good summer and they choose to go w Bass. Kickers are valuable, might pull a 5th for him. Maybe Sweeney if they are foolish and keep all the trash in front of him. Barkley has no value while Dalton and Cam are FA, if he had any prior. Theres a shot in the secondary as well, but low potential imo.

Every kicker was a rookie at some point.. let him compete and may the best guy win.

Agreed, he’s more of a bull than a dancing bear, but he’s also very good at getting free. Somebody like Brady, with quick drops and passes, can completely neutralize his type of game on the edge. But give that ball an extra pat on a 5 step drop and he can get home, you also won’t run him over like Murphy, etc. I do think he could raise absolute hell from the 3 tech spot, which could be interesting on passing downs, line him and Oliver up in a speed rush package, flank the center and make them figure out who to deal with. He is not a super twitchy athlete, but if you watch him play, he manages to get home in a hurry, it’s deceptive. I think part of it is his size, and he’s not super sudden, but somehow he ends up past his guy and crushing people without a lot of flash. I think he will have a solid career, I would expect a consistent 6-8 sacks a year and the occasional 10+ year when he gets lined up against guys that can’t handle his power and he gets a couple in one game. He was a dominant player in college, he won’t, or I doubt, he will be quite as dominant in the pros, but I think he can be a long term starter for you and you won’t be upset to have him there. I liken his production to Shaq, but I don’t expect to see him showing up out of shape and not giving effort the way Shaq did for 3 years. I see more of a Shaq in a contract year type of player here.

He was a SUPER STAR in a very similar professional sport. I'm not writing him off. It's a long shot to make it, but if guys like Antonio Gates can make it, why can't he? I am sorry, with exactly zero 1000 yard rushers on this roster, its not exactly an insurmountable taks to win a spot.

You aren't far off, he doesn't have the "bend" that the elite speed rushers have. You don't see his upper body ripping around the corner, he is a little stiff. That said, hes strong as a bull and only going to get stronger, weighs 275 and probably could go up 10lbs in his legs and really cause problems for opponents. His upper body and hands are great, his attitude is great and his instincts are exciting, he goes for the ball first, something nobody for the Bills in recent history has really done. I love that. He's a lot like Shaq in terms of what he will bring, except way more effort, every day. I think Shaq is a bit more flexible, but it never translated. I ne er understood taking Shaq where they did, basically, they took Shaqs replacement where Shaq should have been taken to start with.

That line is actually pretty telling. It doesn't matter how big, fast, or explosive you are if you don't catch the darn ball.
