  1. Her arms look too long. She has freakishly long arms.
  2. Petrucci/Dream Theater - The Glass Prison. I love that first one with the tempo change. Today. I've got a bad habit of wearing out a song on the iPod before I get around to updating the playlist. I'm such a metal head. -Jeff
  3. That second one isn't bad, but she really comes across as a tomboy wearing a bikini because she knows she should wear a bikini.
  4. And if there is no case, don't do it just because you're mad at someone. Doctors pay ridiculous malpractice insurance costs now.. every time they go up, so do our medical bills. If they really owe you something and cost you more than you should have had to pay, a letter from a lawyer may get the additional costs covered.
  5. Yeah, it's freaking criminal. Checkout www.buffalohomefinder.com and search for houses in that range, it reports what the estimated tax liability is per year. For example, "This one story home built in 1976 has 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, 1 half bathroom, and is approximately 2708 sq. feet. The taxes for this property are $8,290. MLS#242566 More Info." Thee sales price on this place is $234,900. My wife and I look at houses up there quite a bit as she knows how much I'd like to move back, but even I can't justify that and I'd *love* to get back up there eventually. I'd have to pay one hell of a premium in order to live in an economically repressed area of the country. How's that work? The upstate NY population in still pissing away. Ditch the pensions for anyone not already dependent on them. Lay off 65% of the county workers. Kill the redundant layers of government (and taxation), Bring the "benefits" in line with the non-unionized private sector. Offer some *real* incentives to some non-manufacturing companies in order to introduce the "new" economy to the area. A pair of DS3 lines and an old warehouse and a company could run a technical support call center on the cheap. I've looked a Buffalo area salaries for that type of work and it's pathetic compared to the national average. The labor cost is low. As the baby boomer types fizzle out of the work force (I mean no disrespect, but I believe that's the last of the "pension generation") it's bound to change sooner or later. I've resigned myself to looking at WNY as my "when I get rich" plan. Hah. There just isn't enough up there to justify taking a leap into the unknown. Sure, I could find ONE job to move for... but well, most of you understand and are in the same boat! =) -Jeff
  6. I told my wife "man, this guy is an idiot... " before the game started. This thread is quite fitting =)
  7. Before the game started, he mentioned that Bills/Mularkey are "really going to have to try to win this one." Duh.
  8. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/foot...ex.html?cnn=yes
  9. I know a couple of VERY freaky mormon girls. They'd never let anyone they didn't sincerely trust know, but *wow* have they gotten into some stuff. Closet freaks. Sheltered so much that when they finally get a bit, they want it _all_ the time. -Jeff
  10. I believe that's only on homes higher than 500,000 or so? Won't effect the core WNY constituency I'd argue. Fair Tax! Fair Tax! -Jeff
  11. B word about your child support payments. All six of them.
  12. Ba-boom. Parent still have my sympathy. Of course the real blame probably goes on them (or another influence in her life, it's not that web site), but think about what they're going through. Part of the natural grieving process I'd argue. The only real danger in situations like this is some sympathizing lawmaker submitting a knee-jerk bill of some sort. They can blame whoever the hell they want, doesn't play into my life one bit. -Jeff
  13. Been there man! *sniff* The memories bring a tear to my eye.
  14. I wish they'd get that city in order. The whole area. Really needs someone to step in there and tighten the belt a bit. Clean it up, slash spending, drop taxes to get people back into the area.... gotta stop the bleeding.
  15. I was deciding between FSU and ASU... toured the campus, did the night think while I was out at each. I chose internet millionaire, which worked out real well. Now it's GA state school. Jeff
  16. Sure did. John Linder. Co-author of the fair tax book. -Jeff
  17. Oh right, fully. I don't condone anything they're doing and I believe the entire entertainment industry is a bit out of line. My point is I don't think any of their tactics will last. Am I worried? Sure. They can do a lot of damage trying to hit the bull's eye by just shooting in the general direction. In the long run, however, none of these methods will stick as technology progresses and new delivery methods come into existence. The most important thing now would be to make sure they understand that consumers won't stand for over-bearing enforcement (from a non governmental agency, no less) independent of delivery method. Hell, as people that grew up with this stuff start stepping into positions of greater and greater power, we'll see a downturn as well.
  18. I'm a MMORPG junky myself... anyone else?
  19. I'm convinced none of this stuff will fly. It's a case of old-school execs that still use typewriters trying to get a handle on all of the technology that's come out in the last ten years or so. Schools have the same problem in my opinion. They're trying very hard to integrate computers into the classroom and all that, but they still haven't figured out quite how to do it right. Same concept. They're attacking the medium and not the problem. Hell, a lot of people I knew that used to "steal" music have stopped. Not out of fear, but out of realization that they *are* stealing something. Put that money into education and information and they'll see online trading and whatnot shrink to an acceptable level. On a more personal note, with Ashlee Simpson topping the charts, it's no wonder people justify ripping the crap off.
  20. No dude, that's just a killer tan. She wins. One please. -Jeff
  21. I had worried that this is what we'd see once DL moved on. The D was less than stellar before he joined the team, remember? He really solidified it and JG just had to keep the pieces together. Or not. Hell if I know. Need to throw stones at someone this year too, I guess. -Jeff
  22. I agree. Kids up north play hockey in the street after school. It just isn't natural to have a hockey team in a city that doesn't naturally ice over. Next thing you know, they'll want to move inbreeding up North! (Little bit 'o humor there, relax)
  23. I always get the feeling I'm sharing the stadium with 69,999 people watching the game on "Corporate Courtesy Tickets." It's more of a family outing than a trip to the game. The GA dome is really in a crappy area of town, though. That's probably one reason. You'll get asked to "spare some change" 15 times between the parking lot you choose and the dome. Seen a guy shoot up another's car about 2 blocks from there a few years back. -Jeff
  24. The most disturbing thing about the article is one of the charges that's been filed against him. Anyone else pick up on the "possession of flammables" charge? Sounds interesting. So, it's illegal to own... flammable things? (I'm sure there's more to it than that, but still...) -Jeff
  25. I *loathe* flying. I hate it. I get sweaty, I get dizzy, I get tense and short of breath. This goes back years. I've had meetings 600+ miles away - I drive and expense the mileage. I would drive to Los Angeles (from Atlanta) before I'd willingly get on an airplane. It comes down to a control thing, for me. When I've HAD to fly? Double Jim Beam and coke at the airport bar. -Jeff
