Good Restaurants near Holiday Inn Hamburg??
mcjeff215 replied to BB27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
<HiJack> Are there ANY decent WNY web sites? It appears that someone with some serious experience in that arena could stand to make a *lot* of money rebuilding a lot of them. </HiJack> -
Good Restaurants near Holiday Inn Hamburg??
mcjeff215 replied to BB27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup, that's what I was going to say =) There's a shop (The Buffalo Grill?) on the corner of Union and Buffalo St. in Hamburg that's quite good, too. -Jeff -

Ha! Hopefully she'll pull a Mariah and "let loose." -
Or, of course X-Chat Aqua for the Mac folk....http://sourceforge.net/projects/xchataqua/

I've heard that before I think, right before we brought Dick LeBeau in. This team is _exactly_ the same place it was four years ago. We don't have the mess that was our QB situation, but other than that, it feels like we've been spinning our wheels. We've always been quick to call for someone's head. I'm starting to feel the "toss 'em all out and start over again again again" feeling in the pit of my stomach but that almost guarantees yet another year of mediocrity.

I'll never shop at Walmart on Black Friday
mcjeff215 replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nope, because it was simply store security. Even using the tazer would surely bring about a dozen lawsuits. I apologize if that was a bit harsh, but the sheer stupidity of my fellow man amazes me. -
My "Who Cares" vote = "Hell if I know." They've played as a different team while at home this year. I think there's a high probability of them taking command early and winning. Not a chance in hell if it was an away game.

Was it called "Sunrise" or "Morning?" I believe you're right. -
No no no, you've got it all wrong. We'll win. Two of our three scores will be on freak special teams plays or because of Moorman's leg. Once that happens, they'll put up the "Bill-eve" signs, which will get our hopes up just in time to be beat down in Miami. Not because they're a better team, but because it's an away game. That's how it goes... over and over and over. Gah. I'm too young to be this cynical. I feel bad for all of you guys that were big fans during the 80's!

Yeah, I saw some of the sprawl the last time I was up there. At the current rate, though, it's got another 60 years before it matches Atlanta, Dallas, or Los Angeles. Is it really that different up there still? I go up a few times a year if I can, but I haven't been "there" for about 10 years now. Kids down here - preteens - are carrying $400 iPods, using Motorola "Razor" phones, wearing $80 jeans. Everyone around here seems to be confrontational and disrespectful. I'm not "old", but none of this stuff feels right to my Buffalo born ass.... feels like parents that don't have time to spend with their kids, so they buy them gadgets and send them off on their way. I don't remember any of that growing up... not sure if it's location, time, or a combination of the two. -Jeff

Isn't that just ridiculous? Retailers shouldn't have to spend the additional $$ needed to provide babysitters and an adult sized play-pen. You know damn well the only reason they're doing that is to avoid the inevitable lawsuit from the high-school dropout in the four-year-old sweat suit. Stores shouldn't have to take steps like that. The worst part? Most of these people are probably shopping for their children, which means they've already reproduced. Bah... "The crowd of shoppers outside BrandsMart USA in Sawgrass Mills, angry at being forced to wait by security personnel, pushed their way under the security gate and down a hallway into the store, forcing dozens of people against the walls and trampling the woman." If those security guards had tazers strapped to their belts, everyone would have been real fkin' polite. -Jeff -
Amen to that. I miss that place like crazy. I've been here in Atlanta for almost ten years and I still can't call it home. Was talking to my wife about it today, the taxes are job situation are just too bad for me to consider it seriously, for now. She's from here, but I think even she is getting sick of the "keeping up with the Jones'" that the larger area has about it. Ever feel underdressed at a Mall? Yeah.. I'm longing for good 'ol Hamburg.

Oh, and damn it... "lack of security" is to blame? How about your selfish bargain-hunting "me-first" attitude? I'm sure that had *nothing* to do with it. Reminds me of rush hour drivers. Edit... ""Wal-Mart did not do enough to protect us," Dietstra said." I'm just not sure I know what to say about that gem. -

I hear that. The one near my house here in GA is full of bare-foot 12 year olds and overweight mothers that smell of Marlboro and "Designer Impostors." And that's the 20% that can speak english. -
THE CHEEKTOWAGA EYE EXAM This kid from CHEEKTOWAGA turns 16 and goes to to the NY State Department of Motor Vehicles apply for a permit. He is told he has to take an eye test. The examiner show's him a card with the letters: C Z J W I X N O S T A C Z "Can you read this?" the examiner asks. "Read it?" the young man replies, "He's my uncle." ICE FISHING A blonde who had lived in Buffalo all her life wanted to go ice fishing. She'd seen many books on the subject, and finally getting all the necessary tools together, she made for the ice. After positioning her comfy footstool, she started to make a circular cut in the ice. Suddenly, from the sky, a voice boomed, "THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE." Startled, the blonde moved further down the ice, poured a thermos of Spot coffee, and began to cut yet another hole. Again from the heaven the voice bellowed, "THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE." The blonde, now worried, moved away, clear down to the opposite end of the ice. She set up her stool once more and tried again to cut her hole. The voice came once more, "THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE." She stopped, looked skyward, and said, "Is that you, Lord?" The voice replied, "NO, THIS IS THE MANAGER OF HSBC ARENA." LOST IN A BLIZZARD A UB student from downstate got lost in her car in a Buffalo blizzard. She remembered what her dad had once told her: "If you ever get stuck in a snowstorm, wait for a snowplow and follow it." Pretty soon a snowplow came by and she started to follow it. She followed the plow for about 45 minutes. Finally the driver of the snowplow got out and asked what she was doing. She explained that her dad had told her that if she ever got stuck in the snow, to follow a plow. The driver nodded and said, "Well, I'm through with the Wegman's lot, now you can follow me over to Tops."

I actually know a guy who banged Paris. Sang at a friend of mine's wedding. -
Of course he is. Wouldn't you? Screw Drew. He matters about as much as RJ does. In fact, DB = RJ.

Does anyone have any thoughts on leasing
mcjeff215 replied to Richmond_Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I used to buy new because of the sheer number of miles I put on the things. The logic was more warranty blah blah blah... the way I see it, even if I end up putting a new engine in something four years down the road I still wind up paying *less* than I would have eating all of that depreciation off the lot. -jeff -

Best of both worlds in my opinion? Buy used. -
Woodford reserve and rare breed here =) That rare breed runs 108 proof. I can drink that Woodford all day long, or until I fall down, whichever comes first.

I agree. It's damn ridiculous that we *aren't* profiling. Oh wait, you mean the prayer section? Well, you see, it's important to not offend anyone. Can't have anyone upset at us! -Jeff -
