Just finished watching the abor...er... Bills game. Wow. I spent my afternoon at the Georgia Aquarium, supposed to be the biggest one in the world. The place itself is spectacular, but I don't think I've ever been as frustrated with my my fellow man. I have a 4 year old daughter. I wanted her to see the place. We took her stroller so she wouldn't have to walk the whole time. There were *grown men* tripping over it because they were trying to push in front of us to see FISH. People were piled 8 - 9 deep in front of tanks and there was no way to get around them. If you stood there politely, other people would push past you and think nothing of it. I had three or four people make comments to me, about how "he doesn't know what he's doing, he's just pushing that stroller." We were waiting in line quietly so I could let her pet the stingrays in the stingray tank. I had *THREE* adults cut in front of us and run up and do the thing while I stood there with a four year old... in the kids section... at the kids "petting tank." All in all, I think three people uttered the words "excuse me." One of which was a staff member. I gave it up 3/4 of the way through the afternoon as I realized that most of the people there didn't speak english anyways. We left after 2 hours and about 1/3 of the exhibits. I spent the majority of the afternoon with my arms around my wife and my daughter keeping them from being pushed! Any of you in the Atlanta area - stay the hell away from this one until late 2009. Complete mistake. The crows are just terrible. This was the worst experience I think I've ever had at anything even remotely family oriented. It was a bad as leaving a crowded stadium post-event. -Jeff

100 reasons I love the cold weather

See, I miss that and at the same time don't. I really do like being able to use a .30-06 down here, but it sucks having to check the stand for yellow jackets before climbing in. Layers are everything down here. At 6:00, it's 28 degrees, but it's 65 by noon. All in all? I'd rather go hunting up there in Ellicotville or something. Perhaps I'll pick up some land when I get the $$. -
I noticed that too. I was going to go to this game when single seats went on sale, but decided against it. Looks like a perfect late-season Buffalo game, minus the "mattering."

The Worst Breakfast You Can Eat
mcjeff215 replied to lawnboy1977's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think 99.9 percent of Americans know it's bad stuff. But 87.4 percent of Americans simply don't care. I used to pack that crap down, but a heart attack at 40 due to a life time of that type of eating *CAN* happen to me. Now it's running every morning and celary sticks. Tastes like sh-- and getting up early sucks, but beats the alternative. (For the record, I really freaking miss the days of crazy drinking, cigarettes, and 4:00AM Patty Melts). -

Papa John's has to come out with PIZZA that doesn't taste like ASS. That needs to be their priority. Worst. Pizza. Ever. Ballpark pizza is better than that crap. -
You actually watched that?! The South Park parody was enough for me!!

100 reasons I love the cold weather
mcjeff215 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Heh, I do that, too. Neighbors all head to work in scarves and hats and large jackets. Im usually good in a sweatshirt and jeans (40's, for the love of.. we're not talking bone chilling pre-dawn hours back in Hamburg). 65. I no longer crack a sweat while taking the dog for a walk. 64. Better gas mileage because I can turn the damn AC off. 63. Watching my (Buffalo Native) father act like 1" of snow is a hell of a storm now that he's pushing 9 years of southern residency. -

My wife's glued to hers most of the time too. She couldn't live without it. T'was a joke. -
Mmmmmmm.... The best part about that movie is the Anglina Jolie Connection. As a matter of fact, that's the best part of *all* Jon Voight movies.

Huh. I remember when that one opened up near the McKinnely Mall... it was beautiful. Although, with iTunes and Netflix out now, I don't remember the last time I actually went to a music store.

C'mon dude, you know women don't use the Internet. -
I agree. The kind of investigation that every law enforcement shooting probably triggers. I smell a congressional panel should this get much more out of hand. It's great. I flip between Sean and Randi Rhodes on the way home (because extremists on either side piss me off, and oh how I love to be pissed off). Rhodes was particularly irritating tonight in that she was so sure that the marshall screwed up. Callers would dial in with "Randy, what if it was a bomb?" And she'd respond with something like "But it wasn't so they over reacted. They should have just taken his bag away. They should have just tazered him. They didn't have to kill him.." Then of course she stated that they weren't properly trained and that law enforcement should know what to do - these guys "clearly didn't." It's like clockwork. Want to hear one side of the story? 750. Want to hear the other side? Crank it up to 1690. They all suck. I really hope no one takes their crap as "news." Ok. Back to your thread. -Jeff

Yup, I hear 'we're safe, no snow tonight' on Atlanta radio, I think "ah damn it!" to myself. Nothing beats that show. I've been down here almost 9 years now and it _just_never_gets_old! -

86. I get to watch all the southerners complain about how cold it is when it's only 35 degrees out! ;-) -
(Drum roll, please....) How long will it take? One day. One day was the correct answer. Thanks for playing. http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/12/08/airplane.gunshot/index.html

Um that sucks? That doesn't suck? Son of a..? He deserved it? Screw you, MM? Without knowing the story, I haven't a *clue* what to think about this one... -
Heh, that could be. We sit down for dinner every night of the week. My wife waits until I get home and then we make dinner. If my daughter eats everything, she gets desert. TV goes off. I personally can't understand why parents *wouldn't* do that. That *is* the parenting they signed up for!! To answer your questions? A) I usually wound up eating food at whatever bar they had brought me along to. B) Whenever I wanted to, it was in the fridge in the garage with the OV. C What?

Oh let's hear stories! Stories are fun. I too am back in school as is a co-worker of mine. He's in an online class and shares college-age pearls of wisdom spewed forth by his classmates quite a bit. I'll see if I can dig up some of those messages. It's a management class he's in. The short of it? Most of those messages read like so: "I dont thiink u should reprt ur employees cause it will make them mad and if they r mad they wont work very hard and wont get the job done so u shouldnot reprot your employees. everyone should be friends and work together and respect each other and then everyone will do more work" And then at the bottom, and I sh*t you not, this guy actually writes.... so u know: u = you. As far as the parenting thing goes. I have a four year old and the no-kids thing ought to go further than the local deli, if you ask me. First class on airplanes ought to be 21+ as they serve alcohol (there's the excuse, at least). Movie theaters should have 21+ movies available. Hell, online games ought to have 21+ servers. I remember teenagers being much more respectful when I was that age. Hell, I'll call the man filling my gas tank up "sir" if he appears a day older than me. The funny part is my parents didn't beat this stuff into me. These are values I've developed myself. It's a bit disheartening to see the reactions most people give, but that's not the point of being polite to begin with. I am personally embarrassed if my little one acts up. Raising her to be a respectable adult is the most important responsibility I have. I think a lot of other parents see it in a different light. -Jeff
