Oh let's hear stories! Stories are fun. I too am back in school as is a co-worker of mine. He's in an online class and shares college-age pearls of wisdom spewed forth by his classmates quite a bit. I'll see if I can dig up some of those messages. It's a management class he's in. The short of it? Most of those messages read like so: "I dont thiink u should reprt ur employees cause it will make them mad and if they r mad they wont work very hard and wont get the job done so u shouldnot reprot your employees. everyone should be friends and work together and respect each other and then everyone will do more work" And then at the bottom, and I sh*t you not, this guy actually writes.... so u know: u = you. As far as the parenting thing goes. I have a four year old and the no-kids thing ought to go further than the local deli, if you ask me. First class on airplanes ought to be 21+ as they serve alcohol (there's the excuse, at least). Movie theaters should have 21+ movies available. Hell, online games ought to have 21+ servers. I remember teenagers being much more respectful when I was that age. Hell, I'll call the man filling my gas tank up "sir" if he appears a day older than me. The funny part is my parents didn't beat this stuff into me. These are values I've developed myself. It's a bit disheartening to see the reactions most people give, but that's not the point of being polite to begin with. I am personally embarrassed if my little one acts up. Raising her to be a respectable adult is the most important responsibility I have. I think a lot of other parents see it in a different light. -Jeff

TNA? Seriously? Do the programs at the arenas come with those cool mud flaps with the naked woman on them? Excuse me while I go pick the ramen noodles out of my mullet. I can't believe they actually *call* it that. All joking aside, try and explain it. Please. I just don't understand how grown men can watch it, unless of course, they're watching it with their 10 year old kid.

Fire Wad... er.. GREGG-O MUST GO.... son of a... MULARKEY! That's it. FIRE MULARKEY!

No no, there was sarcasm in there if you look deeper. Needing an INT to seal the deal?
-
Nope, we would have flipped to the Giants by now.

You know, the first day I visited TBD, everyone was having this same conversation with respect to Wade Phillips et al. I kinda get the feeling that discussion never stopped.

While it sucks that his streak is over, it's not like it really matters. How many times have you heard "well, since Moulds has caught passes in 182321 straight games, the Bills managed to win today." That said, EM really got the short end of the stick. Think about it, 812 QBs, 91 coaches, and a half of a winning record. If he had Manning et al under center, he'd be hall bound.

Oh don't think for a second I typed that by coincidence. -

I'd prefer the first. You can blame it on bad fish the night before. The latter means they ran out of gas. -

Not sure if everyone knows, but the NHL doesn't rape you if you wish to listen online... http://www.nhl.com/radio/index.html -
This is absolutely insane ...

I agree with a lot of what you said. Lots of the talk today is emotion. Man, people are damn sick of watching their team suck donkey ass. The further away the game gets, the more I realize that firing everyone isn't the answer. We've got some talented guys on our team. The only person I can really see a lot of fault in is the coach right now. I disagree on your Jerry Gray comment, though. If you'll remember, our D really sucked prior to Dick LeBeau's stint with us. When he came on board, we got much better. I kinda thought this might happen when he left us in favor of Pitt. I think Jerry's been riding the Dick LeBeau wave and it's about over with. Hell, Dick was Mike Mularkey's first choice when it came to defensive coordinator if I remember correctly, but he declined in favor of being closer to family. No one goes now. It's pointless. It's not like firing anyone is going to save our season. The season is almost through and we're all but mathematically done. No point in doing anything stupid now. Let the season come to an end. See who opens up in terms of GM candidates and coaching candidates. If someone is open that would be a drastic improvement over the current regime, pull the trigger. Swapping just because we're all pissed off isn't going to help. I think. Hell if I know. I just want 'em to win. -
Right. I just want 'an' offense.

I needed that. Better yet, perhaps you could ask Jessica Biel.

You've got it backwards. We're not fair weather fans at all. In fact, most of us haven't missed a game in years. Those of us within driving distance (or those of us owning Gulf Stream jets) probably make it to every game in person. A fair weather fan looses interest when the team starts loosing. It's the polar opposite here man. We've stuck buy 'em through everything. It's out of disgust, and honestly for some people around here, health! Everyone around here cares so much about this team that watching 'em choke every week does nothing but bring them down pretty hard. There comes a point where you've got to make the decision not to do that to yourself any more. I'll still watch 'em, myself, but I think you've got your analysis wrong.

A free beer to the board idiot!

Oh boy. You said "loose." You're going to get a beat down for that..... I did that once... *ducks* -
Well it can't suck any worse. At least we would _expect_ suck after that. None of this false-hope "bring you up and drop you down" week after week crap.

I am so done with Pittsburgh Rejects

Well, you know we've hit the bottom when people are registering just to bash the team. REVOLT! REVOLUTION! -
Anyone else ready to give Sam Wyche a chance?
mcjeff215 replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No way. I'm really sick of the head-coach experiments. -

Tom Cruise buys sonogram machine?!!
mcjeff215 replied to lawnboy1977's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, a stethoscope and a sty.. styg..Sphyg...sp...er.. blood pressure meter are used by a nurse or a tech, too. Trust me, I'm no Tom Cruise fan, but I highly doubt he would do anything that could risk the life of his little one. Just another case of "got the money." I'm no doctor, but sonograms are simply high frequency sound waves. I'd think the pressure applied to her abdomen would be more dangerous than the machine itself, unless of course, they were taking pictures in the bathtub. Hell, they sell "hear your baby" microphones that do almost the same thing at Babies 'R Us. I can understand folks being upset if he had purchased a bone saw and a morphine pump for his sick grandmother, but I don't think this is much of anything... I really doubt this is a replacement for medical care. Just something to do when he's bored. You know, between hollywood parties, Lamborghini shopping, and banging the hell out of Katie Homes. -Jeff -
Now that's a 'TAIL'-gate party!

mcjeff215 replied to lawnboy1977's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bah. It's not like he said he's going to do a cesarian with a butter knife or anything. I think she's assuming he's using this in place of medical care. Unless they can actually do *damage* with the machine, it's just another case of rich boy playing with rich boy toys. He said he's going to donate it to a hospital when he's through, as well. And it's *intergalactic* scientologists association, *not* international.
