  1. Buddy of mine just showed it to me 10 minute ago. He (suprising) has a degree in Physics. Thus the simulation... -Jeff
  2. http://jet.ro/dismount/ Little more technically accurate, but fun in a macabre sort of way. Edit: http://fun.sdinet.de/flash/games/ That'll keep me busy all day.
  3. Right right, and then the "not so smart" guys are complaining that the "smart guy" doesn't spend enough time mentoring, right? The smart guy, of course, doesn't want to mentor because he doesn't have the time. He doesn't have the time because he won't help the other guys. In reality, he doesn't want to help the other guys because they would then pose a challenge. Yeah, I managed a group of 'em for a while, then we reorganized. -Jeff
  4. See? It happens a lot. I'm fully confident in what I do and I know I do it well. No, I don't want to spend 45 minutes a day discussing the details of some obscure ancient technology when that discussion does nothing other than solidify the technical pecking order amongst the computer folk. With other groups it appears to be more of a collaboration. With techies, it appears to be a battle of wits in which "there can be only one." That does it. I need to go into management.
  5. Ok, well then, how about... "While I'm sure I don't know more than everyone else on this forum - I wouldn't want to insult any egos - I am fairly confident I'm in the top decile with respect to computer knowledge. Probably higher in certain disciplines, but certainly lower in others. For instance, my skills with respect to VMS systems are lacking, while my knowledge of C is quite high." I honestly don't understand this egotistical knowledge war computer professionals get wrapped up in. I'm personally honored when I get the chance to work with guys that know more than me. You know the war I'm referring too, where "Trash 80" is mentioned along with "Logo" and "Assembler in middle school." -Jeff
  6. Yeah, I think next time, I'm going to dump some liquid smoke into it. That should simply rock. I wonder if that's why they lost last weekend... I must make cheese this Sunday. -Jeff
  7. Since when does PHP qualify as coding? (All in good fun, all in good fun - Humor!)
  8. I did that for 18 months. I bet I know just about as much as you do. I finally quit for good three years ago. Computers here. Followed by aquariums.
  9. What's Jerry talking about this week? 'It's a bad sign when the head coach takes shots at his running back.' Huh? Where'd that happen? I miss something?
  10. So, what network do you work for?
  11. His point is that we all skip the commercials on the "regular" shows, but everyone watches football in real time. Thus the advertisers line up to buy sports time as opposed to "CSI time" and whatnot. There's probably a bit of truth to it. If I could stand to let the bills play for 45 minutes before I watched the game, I'd skip those commercials too... but alas, I can't do that. -Jeff
  12. Yeah, THAT pisses me off. I pay $200 a year to watch an hour of game and two hours of commercials. I make it a point to NOT buy the crap they pitch to me on Sunday Ticket. I know that it ain't a whole hell of a lot of money, but it's the point! I've found myself making comments like, "Oh... a delay on the field, better cut to a freaking commercial for (beer|CSI|Trucks) involving (Brady|Patriots|Both)." I thought I was just getting grumpy in my old age, guess it really is getting worse.
  13. I live in the Atlanta area and have been talking trash all off-season. Please.. please oh please let us win this game.
  14. Yeah, and it looks as though we're all going to be on even footing again. Might as well be 0-all in the AFC east, again...
  15. I'm not. They held 'em down fairly well early on. Few too may first downs, but no points. No time off of the field. The offense (I am really quite sick of saying this) stunk it up and couldn't give the D boys a breather. Recipe for disaster. I'm a bit worried about the running game this year. Has Willis really hit anything full on? -Jeff
  16. I give not a damn how perfect it is to the NYU school-of-music trained ear, power chords RULE! Power chords will *always* rule. Nothing defines all out mosh-pit-metal like the skilled power-chorder. What's even cooler than power chords? Power chords on a down-tuned guitar. Where else could you not know a *damn thing* about music yet still rock? Power chords make that possible. As to this album... I've listened to the first three songs or so and it's not doing much for me. There have been some bright spots but nothing spectacular. A bit disappointing as I've liked a lot of what they've put out so far. -Jeff
  17. The last time I was there the sausage tasted like weak ground beef and the dough wasn't fully cooked. I agree it used to be good! I used to really like the Salfranco's pizza before it went Danny's. I used to get pizza from there every Friday. We ought to keep a running list of "good pizza and wings outside of WNY."
  18. Except if it's Papa John's, then it's more of a "prison sex."
  19. The BP on 20 sucks.
  20. There's only one game I want him to loose this year. Early '06. To Buffalo.
  21. In this case it's a validation thing, you know... *whew* see? He *does* suck, we DID do the right thing!!
  22. He's really picked up his play from that first drive... guy's rocking.
  23. Im really enjoying this.
