  1. I'm not trying to sway anyone's opinion on this topic. But I think another metric is Cap space lost/missed. One thing to have backups miss games, but you need to "normalize"/adjust for the fact we are missing significantly paid players. I haven't looked at this metric for all teams, just for us right now: 1. Players on IR: $33.9m of our 2023 cap 2. Total 2023 team cap=$225m Thats 15% of our cap, practically flushed down the toilet this season. And that's just our IR guys, Tre/Milano/Jones. Would have to add in impacts of 4/17ths of Von, 1/17th Groot, 1/17th Ed, etc etc to get a true picture. So yes, man games lost is important. But who those players are/impact on cap is just as if not more important perspective to consider. 1 more example just on IR, Baltimore Ravens: from 2021, when they got really snake bit - 48.5m IR of 182.8m total (26%). They finished the year 8-9, Lamar had a down year and missed 4 games too. It would be interesting if any advanced stats on "missed cap" stats were compiled. https://x.com/agetzenberg/status/1715396746061156530?s=20 Interesting development perhaps on Ed. Coach ruled him out this week but didn't say he'd miss practice. So perhaps just encouraging for the TNF TB game.
  2. Agree, not the worst. But missing 4 starters on defense, Inc both Dts is never good. But there could be worse opponents than NE. Will be interesting hoe we handle P/S callups and other roster moves this weekend. 1 DT and 1 RB: likely using our 2 callups from P/S will be Vickers and Johnson But, with Elam and Lewis not at 100%, we might want Ingram ready (which would be his final call up anyhow). I think it's very possible Klein is cut and Ingram takes his spot on the 53
  3. Ed, Quentin, and Damien all OUT this week, per Coach on WGR. With a short week until TB game, hopefully Ed can make a return.
  4. Good news is it doesn't look like he's wearing a brace/support. When he had an AC joint (left shoulder) before, he did wear a brace for 1-2 weeks IIRC. Possible no AC joint sprain (or very minor/grade 1 tops), which would be great news.
  5. https://x.com/agetzenberg/status/1715036293829160991?s=20 No Ed, Morris or Harris on Thursday. @HappyDaysany inside info on Eds toe injury/severity? Likely Vickers gets called up, if Ed can't go.
  6. P/S would make a lot of sense, since we basically don't have #s to run a scout offense. Just Ty Johnson as a P/S RB right now. Ty is basically a Cook replacement. Fournette could get promoted a week or 2, if Harris would miss significant time. Let's remember we acquired Hines LY, and he got very little run in the offense. I see Fournette as a #s play/practice, insurance if Murray would to go down in the next few weeks. My guess is Harris is likely shelved 2-3 weeks.
  7. Not saying its this but Josh looked pale/sick pregame to me...I have no insider info, but wondering if he's still jet-lagged/fighting off an illness. Maybe it was the ambulance/PTSD from Hamlin, but he had the same look to me before the game started. He's gone from "overhyped" to "underhyped", not sure if it's a change to his pregame routine, but he doesn't have that same intense look these past 2 weeks. Either way, hopefully Damien continues to get good news/fast recovery.
  8. Add in 2 missed FGs and yeah it was a very improbable/ugly win. Looks the same in the record tho, so will take it. Just need to get the offense fixed, asap.
  9. I rewatched/rewind on DVR live. It was close, but the ball starts to move as #58 punches at it AND before Gabes knee hits the ground. The still shot above doesn't do it justice. Frame by frame you will see the ball move, before knee touches down.
  10. This is probably the best description of the situation. I know we don't want to put any "blame" on Josh, but he's more comfortable in the gun/wants to play recess ball more often than not. Problem this year (not really a problem, but hampering offense), is the coaches have hammered into Josh head to NOT run. And ZERO designed Qb runs. It's a good long term plan, but it's taking adjustments and removing some big plays from the weekly arsenal. Back to being under center/rhythm. Part of the issue comes back to our #2 WR (Gabe). Anyone else noticing him coming off the field much more this year in these situations? He's just not a "timing" WR, he doesn't get into his routes/breaks fast enough. So we essentially have Diggs, then a bunch of nobodies...which to me is partially why Dorsey is probably reluctant as well. At this point, our best option is to make a trade for a another WR. If not, it will be the same issues all season. Other knock on Dorsey is getting more creative...set up a screen for crying out loud, find ways to get Harty the ball in space/reverses, Cook in more passing routes. Sometimes Josh isn't "seeing" the field well enough. But I've lost hope with Dorsey getting creative, it hasn't happened in almost 2 years. Not to be insensitive, but Dorsey has to have some ADHD. I know alot of smart ppl that talk just like him/mannerisms. His playcalling is so sporadic/all over the place. We all talk about "sugar rush" Josh. Maybe we need to get Dorsey more calmed down.
  11. His shoulder was clearly injured in 1st half. He alluded to being banged up/looked shook, in his post game/on field interview. I'd expect negative x-rays, no way he'd be playing through a fracture. But possible of lingering issues/hopefully minor. Just glad we got the W.
  12. While I agree, Josh bears some blame... That miss on 3rd down to Knox was on Josh, also Knox, but that was a terrible pass. At the end of day/big picture, Dorsey is just OK. We lack playmakers at WR. Diggs then what? Gabe isn't twitchy enough, then we have a bunch of "try hards" and a rookie who hasn't been utilized enough/right ways in Kincaid. Need to spend more on offensive weaponry
  13. Dorsey, get your act together. I feel like Giants running an over front/0 T nose over Morse is screwing up our protection. Jets DL look. We need more jetsweep/outside zone, screens. Everything we haven't done this year much. Need to get more out of the running attack, and use our Rbs more in passing attack
  14. Giants LBs not even respecting the run. Playaction and their dropping right away. Need to keep running
  15. No rhythm. Get some easier passing looks please Dorsey. Everything looks so difficult now
  16. Can we please put a blocker 15-20yards back, to give Harty a chance to return? Wasting a weapon there....and our outside guys aren't holding up
  17. Need to get our running game going and shut down the Gmen run game. Simple as that and we win
  18. At some point, Ingram will get signed to the 53 and either Klein/Spector cut. Makes zero sense carrying 6 LBs, when the 6th guy is a fringe rosterable type AND we need #s at CB
  19. Thanks for sharing all the inside info! I asked a couple Ortho friends and while neither is a podiatrist, both seemed shocked Groot would play through any broken/fractured bone in his foot. W/o knowing the details, basically said it could certainly worsen playing though it/create a long term injury. Hopefully turns out it's not a fracture
  20. I'd be surprised if either plays this week. Long season. With Benford back, start him and Elam. Promote Ingram, although not ideal to use up his 2nd call up. I have confidence in Morris/Gilliam filling in for Rambo short term.
  21. 1. Depends on his asking price 2. We only dress 5 DEs on gameday. 3. Shaq is well liked/locker room leader. Is it worth disrupting to get a better DE5? That's why I said Frank upgrades Shaq/Kingsley in "certain aspects". Better player, no doubt, but there's tradeoffs to signing him. I don't see it happening anyhow. DE/pass rush is least of our concern right now.
  22. Groot, Floyd, Von, AJE, Shaq, Kingsley Frank might be an upgrade on the last 2 guys, in certain aspects. If we were to make a move, it would be at DT (1 tech). See how Poona and Settle, play over the next few games. I think we will be OK.
  23. Snap count, per Coach post-game. Early injury to Kingsley, who returned/left a couple times, along with Jax sustaining long drives..Likely "used" Vons snaps earlier than desired. Be interesting if Groot is still "limited" today. If so, I could see them hold him out this game. Since Vons snaps already limited. Might not dress 2 "recovering/not full go" guys at same position. Shaq will be back at least.
  24. You have a sick mind...now go say 5 10 hail Mary's and 5 our fathers
