  1. IMO the 40 time is a big deal for a CB or kick returner but that is about it-people forget that a lot of these kids train specifically for the 40 with sprint coaches-there is a link between 40 speed and real game speed but they aren't the same thing-for a great 40 time your sprint start is really important.
  2. The guy appears to have great balance-that is why he is able to break tackles so easily-what I do like is a lot of his stuff-like that run at 1.09 seems to be effortless-he made that tackler seem like a little kid.
  3. I wouldn't worry about the Bills having less picks-if you look at the draft history for the Bills any year they get 3 strong players is a very good year for sure.
  4. I would say the guy's speed is comparable to Thurman Thomas-shiftiness is more important in the NFL-if you are going to try to outrun NFL defenses around the corner you literally have to have Spiller speed usually.
  5. Singletary will definitely get a chance to start-there is no way the Bills are so crazy about the guy and then suddenly sit him on the bench. More so than any other position except kicker, there is very little to learn for a RB going to the NFL-if he doesn't have it from day one he isn't going to get it. You have to assume the Bills think this guy is the real deal.
  6. I don't know if the guy can play NFL football but the main positive is that they definitely didn't draft the guy for need-this makes 5 RBs counting Murphy who is pretty good IMO-so obviously the Bills went with their BPA-as Beane says they do.
  7. Squat and deadlift strength is way more important for OL than Bench Press- the power to move people comes from the legs and proper leverage.
  8. It is interesting-the Bills are ranked really low-#27-on 2020 SB odds-but looking at the roster the team looks really deep-the only two positions I can see where you would expect the second round pick to be a day one starter is CB and OG. Even WR has Brown, Beasley, Jones and Foster-I wouldn't necessarily expect Metcalf to automatically start day one. Obviously I am a fan and I cannot see the problems because the lineup looks good overall IMO.
  9. My guess is the Bills end up with Metcalf-I have no idea if the guy can play NFL football but it would be entertaining for sure as he has gotten more hype than Sammy Watkins did. If not him, probably Taylor or Risner.
  10. Trade "value" is an average of the draft trades made in the past-it has nothing to do with the gain or loss from any trade being made. Whoever wants the trade more than the other team is gonna have to up the ante.
  11. It might work out but it is always a big risk giving the monster money to a guy who has the rep of not being totally into NFL football.
  12. The whole thing seems like a red herring-even if this kid has some heart issues it does not mean they would necessarily negatively impact his NFL career as a DE-what is far more statistically likely is serious problems would arise down the road after his NFL career is done. NFL players overall have shortened lifespans but this does not necessarily affect their NFL playing ability/production.
  13. This isn't in your period mentioned but years ago the Bills drafted a guy just because he could bench press-Leif Larsen. Hilarious.
  14. Using drafttek's last mock IMO the Bills take Oliver at 9 if he is there.
  15. I wouldn't go that far but if you punt into the end zone the ball should come out to the 35 yard line-anything to stop stupid coaches punting from the 35 yard line-the most irritating thing going.
  16. Also, the NFL has always been a monkey see monkey do league-so now DE is getting crazy money because other GMs are doing it-so it must make sense right? I mean 21 for Clark would be like maybe 30 for Bruce Smith in his prime-almost Rodgers money. Crazy.
  17. It must be very frustrating dealing with some of these athletically talented morons-somehow the guy can't comprehend that part of the deal for all that money was showing up for stuff like this even if he thinks it is a waste of his time-he is being paid big money to set an example.
  18. You have to give the Seattle GM credit-they lock up Wilson and now have all these picks-they lose a guy who although productive does not appear to be worth 21-22 mill a year IMO.
  19. IMO Bell is one of the all time top RBs ability wise but his motivation is questionable which is always a problem when you give a guy the monster money-it could work out great for the Jets or terrible depending on how motivated the guy is now that he is so wealthy.
  20. The whole thing sounds far fetched-generally speaking future draft picks are always deeply discounted and are used by GMs who are afraid of losing their job if this season doesn't bail them out-Beane doesn't look to be in that situation IMO. Doing deals like this one usually are done out of desperation. If I was the GM and they convinced me Williams is the next Donald I would give up whatever is necessary this year but no way next year's number one. I would rather give up all my picks this year than next year's #1. If you are thinking sustained success number #1s next year are just as important as number ones this year IMO.
  21. IMO Shady played very poorly last year for a RB with his salary-he rebounds this year or that is probably it for him. The OL was lousy last year but his performance was just as bad.
  22. PR wise IMO the prosecution blew it-their intent was to cast Kraft as a villain and now by pushing this tape out there they turn the guy into something of a martyr (I am sure NE fans feel that way)-really this isn't a lot different from the guv secretly taping Robert Kraft taking a dump and then pushing the tape onto the internet to try to hurt the guy somehow-and let's be honest-anyone excited to watch a tape of Kraft getting tugged would probably be just as excited to watch a tape of the guy taking a dump.
