  1. This is the guy I want more than anyone in this draft.
  2. I’m not going to go as far as you and say he isn’t good, but I don’t think he’s a Beane guy. Not in the least. Beane prefers prototypes, which Oliver is not. He also prefers good character, which Oliver showed the exact opposite of on national tv with his hissy fit about the jacket. I’m not worried about Oliver, really, because I think the Bills are just being diligent by bringing him in for a private workout. I would look look more closely at Christian Wilkins, who fits McD and Beane to a t. He’s prototypical, productive, a winner, and has excellent character. Would be a perfect locker room fit and be an immediate fit in this culture.
  3. There are still questions that he was faking the severity of it. He did hurt it, no doubt, but people have questioned whether or not he was ok to play.
  4. Yes. He has a history of injuries. Even if it might not be a long list, there is still history there with the nagging knee injuries. Yeah I don’t think he’s a McDermott guy at all. At this point they have talked to most of the guys they might be interested in and are using these visits up. Kinda like a recruit that is allowed 5 official visits and uses them all up to see different campuses even though they already know where they wanna go. I’m not saying there is no way Oliver won’t be the pick, but I would be very surprised if he was.
  5. Due diligence. You get 30 visits. We have 10 picks. You’re right though...time will tell.
  6. I never said he was always injured. I said his knee issue could be a red flag. Im done arguing with you over this. It’s ridiculous to me that this much effort has been spent arguing over a guy that I feel has no chance of being a Bill. You do though. We each have an opinion. Leave it at that. They get 30 visits. They have met with a ton of guys at the Senior Bowl and combine and now they are meeting with others as well. It’s called due diligence. Just because you are visiting doesn’t mean you are high on a team’s radar.
  7. Never said he was always injured. He had knee issues and then sat out a game but was on the field running around before that game. Yes, I think there is something to be said that he was faking the severity of his injury.
  8. Of course a coach is going to say “coach things” about one of their players. He wasn’t going to just throw him under the bus. However, you can’t ignore what the entire sports world saw in that moment. He literally had to be restrained from his coach because he asked him to take off his jacket and let the players have it. He felt entitled to it and took exception to it. Why can’t you admit that?
  9. Here we go again. Nope. I sent you a link. Ignore it. I see that’s your MO. Doesn’t matter. I’m not worried about Oliver at all because we won’t be drafting him. Not a process guy. Take off your hype glasses and see the big picture. Here we go again. Nope. I sent you a link. Ignore it. I see that’s your MO. Doesn’t matter. Great character, Ed... https://mgoblog.com/comment/243179420
  10. For those of you pining over Oliver, I think you are getting your hopes up for nothing. You can’t ignore Beane and McDermitt’s affinity for clean prospects that fit the culture that they are trying to build. Oliver doesn’t fit that in the least. It’s been well documented that he’s a high maintenance player and there are questions about whether he was faking a knee injury late in the season. Not to mention the hissy fit he threw over the jacket. That stuff can’t be ignored and I’m sure it will all be brought up during his visit.
  11. Qb values are always inflated. I’ve read that if Rosen was in this draft, he might have been the top rated qb. I’m sure someone will overpay for him if he becomes available. Probably. If we trade down with the skins I’d say take Hockenson and get a DT and OT I’m the second.
  12. I would love a trade down. If Haskins or Lock is there at 9, the Broncos, Skins, Dolphins, or another team like the Chargers might want to jump up for them. This is my hope. We would probably get another second and would then have ammo to fill out the roster.
  13. Just don’t see us going linebacker with Milano and Edmunds in the fold. Has to be DT.
  14. Kid? Hahah. Hilarious. I ever said he was rated higher than Oliver. I just think McD goes with the process guy over the guy with maintenance issues. Like it or not (I’m assuming not), Beane loves character, which Wilkins has in spades. That’s a big deal.
  15. It’s dropped. He was considered a top three pick (if not first overall) in the college preseason. Now? Not so much. BTW, I showed you proof that people are saying he’s high maintenance. Still waiting on your 5 saying he’s not...
  16. I’ve said this as well. Completely agree. Who gives a crap about pressing 225? Leg drive is where it’s at.
  17. Here ya go, chief: https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/report-potential-top-five-pick-ed-oliver-seen-as-high-maintenance/ar-BBPTlhe Fixed.
  18. Hahahahaha. Nope. I’m not “getting that”. He’s not high character. It’s been reported that he’s high maintenence and I question his heart at the end of the season. It seeed like he was milking his injured knee which let his teammates down. He’s not a Beane guy. I truly believe that.
  19. They also have the 17th pick from the OBJ trade. I’ll bet they have a handshake deal with the Cards for Rosen.
  20. Exactly. Fact is Oliver is not a process guy. Christian Wilkins is.
  21. Of course Oliver had better stats. He should. He routinely played against guys that will be paying to watch football games when their college careers are over. Not happening. Wilkins is a Beane guy through and through. Like it or not, Beane loves prototype and character as much as production.
