  1. Agree with almost everything in this post! Well done! I would just add late round OTs don't seem to develop. I'd skip OT this year and if they need depth try to find a 4 or 5 year vet on the cheap that can play in a pinch. Next year I'd prioritize OT in the top 3 rounds. Lastly I'd add backup QB to the list. Trubisky really sucked last year with Pittsburgh. I'd be fine taking a day 3 QB and maybe you find a jem to stash on the PS for a year or who might even beat out Trubisky.
  2. It's possible. Was he good last year? I don't recall him making many plays and also giving up a TD or two. Who knows who was actually responsible though. I say move on and get younger. Edwards looks like he is good enough to be adequate back there. Hope they draft one. I would have gone WR, Edge, and then S in top 3 rounds prior to FA. Probably wpuld still do the same maybe with DT or C/G ahead of safety.
  3. Oh good point. He disappeared after Halloween so I already forgot about him.
  4. Safety Punter RB2 X WR The two safeties they have are second tier guys. They probably start but hopefully they draft a rookie that pushes one of them out of a starting job by mid season. Of course it all changes if they move Benford to safety. I don't see that happening now. I'd draft the best punter in the draft in the 5th round and get rid of both Martin and Haack. Since RB is really a rotation, I think RB2 is not on the roster yet. DL is also a rotation and they need two more bodies one a NT type and a speed edge rusher. I see Samuel as more of a guy that will take snaps away from Shakir in the slot and be the primary backup when Diggs is not on the field. The traditional X WR is waiting to be drafted. Why? It was good last year and the only guy not coming back is Lawson who is not a pass rusher. I don't like Epenesa but he probably won't be any worse than last year. Rousseau will be in a contract year so hopefully he explodes. If DQ is healthy all year that will free up Oliver nicely.
  5. So did most of this board while the Bills were on the clock.
  6. Mahomes has Reid. Allen has McDermott. There really is nothing more that needs to be said.
  7. Agree none of us know what Allen of McD does to prepare. It's preposterous to speculate. However the whole point of this thread is to attack our franchise QB. It's ludicrous. I criticize Allen for his INTs but to somehow criticize his work ethic or his intensity is insane. It's just as ludicrous to be critical of McDermott's desire to win. Judge them on the results on the field and nothing else. Allen is the best QB this franchise has ever had. The defense lead by our HC has collapsed against Houston and KC twice and barely survived beating a 3rd sting Miami QB. That is on McDermott. And yes with this roster and Allen any of the other 31 coaches in the league would win the division and several of them would have won a SuperBowl by now.
  8. Ask yourself what McDermott does to be a better HC? He is the sole reason Allen is not a SuperBowl champion. Allen is the only reason the Bills are competitive. Replace McDermott with any HC and this team still wins the division.
  9. The GM that passes on this kid to take JJ McCarthy should be fired before round 2 starts. If I was the Bears GM I would have traded down to 4 and taken Harrison. Now if I'm the Bears I trade #9 and next year's number 1 to Arizona for #4 and a 3rd round pick this year.
  10. If I'm interpreting this correctly, this guy takes Rapp's old job as 3rd safety and they still need a starter. Is that correct?
  11. Wow. Was he signed just so Epenesa wouldn't be the worst player on DL?
  12. People on Cleveland radio this morning are questioning it as well. But in the end none of the moves they make matter because Watson is a total bust. They tried to make Flacco a god here all while he was leading the league in INT per attempt. All Flacco did was buy Stefanski another year. It will be interesting to see how many games they let Watson suck before benching him knowing the rest of the roster is solid.
  13. All makes sense until you realize Jeudy was drafted 15th overall and is considered at best a disappointment. I understand your thoughts. I agree they need cheap talent and if you can get cheap talent at WR that is great. You should be able to get even cheaper talent at C and S later in the draft.
  14. You miss my point. You said he lives in a fantasy world. My point is for Deion and many others like him in and out of sports, the things they want are not fantasies. They make things like this happen. Eli forced his way out of San Diego. Did anyone say Eli or Archie were living in fantasy? Lebron is going to get some GM to draft his kid and then trade him so they can play together. If Sanders wants his kid to play in a warm weather site, he can probably make it happen. It's not an absolute of course. San Diego drafted Eli. They could have played hardball but they chose not to. Baltimore could have drafted Elway but they chose not to because Elway didn't want to play there. Agree. When have the Bills ever not been able to attract free agents? Oddly it's been players like Kelly and Cousineau that were the top draft picks that chose not to play in Buffalo. I don't think weather factored into either of those decisions.
  15. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39761383/sources-chase-young-sign-13m-contract-saints $13M guaranteed one year deal Injuries have destroyed this kid's career so far. Saints get him cheap on a one year prove it deal. I was hoping Beane would make a run at him but $13M is not in Bills price range this year
  16. Chase Young to Saints on a 1 year $13M guaranteed contract https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39761383/sources-chase-young-sign-13m-contract-saints
  17. LOL...do you know what career year means? It's the peak or sometimes referred to as the anomaly year in a person's career. So by saying he had a career year last season, it implies that he won't reach that level of performable again. Or that his 4 INT season was an anomaly and he will regress to his prior level of play of 0,1,and 2 interceptions.
  18. Yup that fantasy world of being a three sport college star, then the fantasy of playing at the highest level in football and baseball, and then the fantasy of winning championships, and then the fantasy of getting elected to the college and pro football HOF, then the fantasy of being selected to the all tiem top 100 NFL players of all time, and then the fantasy of raising a son good enough to play major college football, and finally the fantasy of being able to coach your son along the way... Yup he sure does live in a fantasy world...
  19. Colorado was an embarrassing football program before Sanders got there. They had a very good program in the past, but like many other schools ie Nebraska, they just could no longer attract top talent. Sanders can recruit. He cut guys that are bottom tier Div 1 guys especially in the trenches. He makes no bones about it that he is there to train guys to get to he NFL, not make them successful student athletes. At least he is honest about it, as opposed to the lies guys like Saban or Meyer would say.
  20. Two things can be simultaneously true Deion can say something stupid. The city of Buffalo and NY state can do something stupid and not build a dome.
  21. Great move! Terribly underapprrciated player on this board. He plays the toughest position on the defense and does it with aplomb. Until they win the SuperBowl he will have the second best moment in franchise history with his INT TD against the Ravens.
  22. I agree some will not pan out. I just think there is a better chance some UDFA or two will make the team and he will use some of these picks to move around on day 2 and 3
  23. He played reasonably well last year. He will have a good supporting cast. He is a locker room cancer but Tomlin kept far worse guys in check in the past.
  24. I dont see roster spots for 10 or 11 guys after the moves he has already made. 1 RB 1 WR 1 OL 2 DL 1 LB 1 CB 1 S 1 P If I stretch it I can get to 9 and that is taking a punter. Now if they cut Gilliam and want to add another TE or 2 RBs you might get to ten. Add the fact an UDFA is no worse than a 7th round pick and my guess is he makes a max of 8 picks. He will burn the others moving around. If there is not an impact player at 28 he should drop back and get an additional day 2 pick. Maybe even try to get an additional day 2 pick next year.
  25. Glass houses says Todd Collins, Doug Flutie, Rob Johnson, EJ, Tyrod, etc, etc, etc....
