Most intriguing Training Camp competition?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems about right. Alot will depend on how Star looks in camp. Also remember Phillips was a healthy scratch for a bunch of games last year so he is on the bubble too. The last spot will be between Phillips and Zimmer. The group you chose is a little light at 3 technique DT. But if Boogie can play some snaps inside on passing downs they should be ok. -
Strangest Bills Jersey You Own
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Wagon Circler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
None for myself but I have purchased an awful collection for my kids. You have to realize they don't make that many jerseys in kids sizes and kids grow each year. So yes I purchased Losman, Edwards, Alonso, Gilmore, Watkins, and Manuel jerseys over the years. For myself, I only own one - Thurman Thomas signed jersey with a HOF patch. -
Most intriguing Training Camp competition?

I agree. I am interested to see who emerges as a legit pass rushing threat. Beane has put a ton of money and draft picks into the DL with little to show for it. Time for these guys to step up. Hated most of the signings last year. Too old and slow. Really like that they asked Epenesa to lose weight. Of course it won't happen but I still want to see Edmunds as an OLB in the 4-3. He's fine at MLB in nickel which they play the majority of time. But even in nickel I'd like to see him rush the passer and have Milano play deep middle from time to time. The final five on the OL will be interesting to see. I'm still going with Feliciano as my surprise training camp cut as they go with youth at guard and Bates as a swing tackle back-up center. -
Agree! He was outstanding and made some superstar catches. The Bills haven't had a group with this level of ability 1 through 5 ever. They have guys that can make diving, sideline, and contested catches consistently. I've posted for a while the NFL is about doing the routine at a very high level of consistency and making the amazing play more often than not.

Everyone thinks their hometown announcers are the best. That's silly but what matters is do they make the experience better for the fans and make a connection with the fan base. In each case, Miller, Darling, and Jeanerette did just that. They all made being a fan of a Buffalo sports team more enjoyable. Buffalo missed out on the longtime baseball announcer that so many cities embraced. But I wouldn't trade "Where mama hides the cookies" for anyone.

OJ’s 1975 Season. Better than ‘73?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills of the 90's had Thurman who was a MVP and Bruce Smith who was defensive MVP and a team that would have 5 HOF players if you include Lofton, a HOF coach, and multiple other Wall of Fame guys. Sabres at the same time had an aging Mike Ramsey, a young Mogilny, future HOF Dave Andrechcuk, and they traded for Lafontaine. By the mid-90's they added Hasek. The years you note were great, but the early 90's were much better. OJ was an all-world talent and is still in the conversation for greatest RB of all time, but the team was terrible. -
Hard Knocks 2021: Dallas Cowboys
Ethan in Cleveland replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Never watched an episode and have limited TV time. Is HardKnocks worth watching? Training camp seems boring enough, not sure how they spice it up. -
Never said it was mandatory. If Allen is playing at an elite level four or five years from now they will be competitive. In four years though probably 3/4 of the team will have turned over around him. Like any other GM Beane will need to draft well and spend more wisely than he has in free agency in the past. Kudos to him this past year to get some guys to take pay cuts and Milano and Williams to sign reasonable deals.

What kind of doc are you? I'm a cardiologist -
In retrospect, Jim turned the ball over too much especially in the playoffs. If he calls Thurman's number 5 more times in SuperBowl XXV instead of himself Bills win by 10. Josh has all the tools to be a more successful QB than Kelly but he still needs to win some more big games. For all Josh did last year, two greatest plays of 2020 were made by Taron Johnson. The third best is Allen to Diggs for the comeback win over the Cardinals that was not to be. Bills probably have a 2 maybe 3 year window to win it all. Hopefully Beane understands one SB win is worth more than 5 playoff appearances. Bills need to be all in while Josh is affordable.

CBS Sports Top 10 NFL HC's
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't understand what is so complex about Flores starting Tua. The Dolphins needed to evaluate him and get him game time for the future. And for all of you Tua sucks crowd, his passer rating was 87 with 11 TD and 5 INT. Josh Allen first year passer rating was 67 with 10TD and 12 INT. Tua doesn't have the physical tools Allen has but nobody on this board and probably not even Flores knows just yet how good or bad Tua will play. -

I'm a fan and have virtually no idea what I am talking about. I watch the film but have no real idea what the player's responsibilities are on any given play. I post about pass rush as the teams greatest need. What happens? Taron Johnson makes one of the top 3 plays in franchise history with a McD zone defense rushing just four guys. That said since I'm a fan at heart I will point out McD appears to have been outcoached by Reid terribly. Reich seemed to have a better game plan just the wrong QB. -
Bills rushing - yards before contact
Ethan in Cleveland replied to BarleyNY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The presumed starting 5 OL did not play a single snap as a unit last year. A healthy Ford can be a big upgrade at LG. They spent money bringing back Williams and Feliciano and draft capital on the pass rush. I have no issues with that approach. I have my well documented concerns about Morse. At least they got him to take a pay cut. I would have drafted C instead of an OT. Taking two OT's still makes no sense. -
Watch the tape. He was awful last year. I really liked the player when he was drafted but not what Beane gave up to get him. I have an open mind for 2021. If he makes plays like he did in the second half on 2019 then the Bills D can be elite. He won't be benched no matter how poorly he plays. They don't have a suitable backup and the organization seems committed to Edmunds at MLB.
