  1. There are other player positions besides QB in the league. Allen is probably a top 5 QB in the eyes of most players (Mahommes, Brady, Rodgers, Wilson being a possible top 4). Add Aaron Donald, Hopkins, Kelce, an edge rusher or a safety and it's quite likely he drops into the 11-20 range. Agree. He was not as dominant last year and had some injury issues. Or he just didn't want to play Tennessee COVID game. But still he is a top 5 CB and its hard to believe there are 94 better players in the NFL
  2. Uh no there is not. There just isn't. There is zero value. Almost all those guys will be on the street in 3 weeks. The only value to the fourth round of a preseason game is the starters are not on the field to get hurt. That's it.
  3. Agreed. I wanted Beane to give away some picks this year for a higher round pick next year. After the top 3 I can't see more than one other guy making the roster.
  4. Fields has a better skill set than most recent Ohio State QBs and has 22 career starts. I'm just not sold on Lawrence and I have no idea why. I'm a stats guys and his numbers got better every year. Maybe it is the Clemson offense style that makes me worry he can be great in the NFL. He obviously has the size and arm strength. He has dead eyes and a blank stare most of the time. Wilson is looking like a bust and Mac Jones doesn't have the arm to play in the NFL
  5. Agreed. For the record I think Jackson is a far better passer than most of this board does. I liked Allen better pre-draft. I had Rosen second and Jackson/Mayfield in a toss up after that with Darnold last in that class. And I'd still take Jackson over Darnold and Mayfield now.
  6. I'm seriously not taking anything away from Tasker who was great. In 2020 he most likely would be used like Edelman and Welker was used and catch 80 balls a year from the slot. With that said the two most important special teams plays of the SB era team were made by Fred Smerlas blocking the kick against the Jets to help win the AFC East for the first time since 1980 and the miss by Norwood.
  7. It's a reasonable argument for his agent to make, but I agree the MVP vote should not impact the final dollars. It depends on the player. Look what happened in Seattle. They were a great young team and they lost Sherman and Earl Thomas over money despite being in a great situation to win and compete for SuperBowls. Same story in Green Bay where Adams is threatening to walk despite a HOF QB and a well run franchise.
  8. Hester is 11th all-time in kick return yards with half the total that Brian Mitchell has. His 5 KR TD would place him 5th all time in that category. He is 5th all time in Punt return yards but has an astonishing 14 punt returns for TD. That is four more then Eric Metcalf who has 10 and is the only other player with double digit punt return TD total. All that said, he was a dynamic player but only leads his peers in one career total category. Therefore along with Tasker he belongs in the Hall of the Very Good but just not HOF worthy.
  9. He was the best pass rusher on the team with little camp and no preseason last year. The less he does now the better they are in the long run. I'd be stunned if he dresses for any of the preseason games. More reps for the kids. I'm liking the DL more with each report but will hold my breath until we see them on the field. A capable H. Phillips and at least one emerging star from the group of DE's would let Frazier just rush four more often and let Edmunds, Milano, and Poyer drop in coverage more.
  10. I’m not sure any deserve first ballot but Ware is 9th overall in career sacks. I suspect he will make it on the first try. There are not many guys that have been passed over that deserve HOF so it’s a good year for Ware to get in on the first chance.
  11. There is always a surprise cut or two Feliciano is my guess on offense H. Phillips is my guess on defense Ford played RT his rookie year, Bates can play OT, and Boettger is far from a lock. I like Bates as the back up center and that frees them up to go with Boettger at RG and let Feliciano go.
  12. Never made it to a game in San Diego. May go to baseball game at some point
  13. Agree. When I watch the games he is at best the fourth worst player on defense after CB#2, NT, and DE#2. Even nickel CB made more impactful plays than Edmunds. He plays becuase he was a first round pick, he is still learning, and they have no one else to play MLB. If he balls out this year then the Bills will be set with the cornerstone of their defense for another 5 to 8 years. And they should pay him like Wagner gets paid. I just have not seen him play to that level. As for replacing him, next year's draft might be a year too early. They will need a center, a NT, and a safety will be my guess.
  14. I was at the LA game too. Flew down for my birthday. I left at halftime and threw my hat in the garbage walking out. Dumbest coaching decision McD has ever made.
  15. Agree with everything you state from a contract and dollar standpoint. I agree McD likely thinks more of Edmunds than I do. I just don't see a top 5 MLB on tape. I'd take my chances and make him prove me wrong. In two years time Hughes, Morse, Beasley, Hyde and Star will be off the team. That frees up cash leaving only Diggs, Oliver, and hopefully Ford to pay. Obviously a few free agents and good drafts to backfill those players will be needed too.
  16. I wouldn't extend anyone else. Make Edmunds earn it just like he made Milano earn it. He has played well enough to pick up his option but not consistently well enough to warrant an extension. Plus you have the franchise tag.
  17. NFL 1. Chargers are in AFC West race until the last week, but ultimately end up a WC team 2. Vic Fangio is the first HC fired 3. Seattle misses the playoffs for first time with Wilson, Carroll retires 4. Dallas wins 12 regular season games and represents NFC in the SB 5. Raiders win 5 games and Mayock is fired Bills 1. Bills lose consecutive weeks against Chiefs and Tenn and this board explodes 2. Bills win 12 regular season games and beat Cleveland in Cleveland for AFC Championship 3. Edmunds is benched as MLB after Tenn loss 4. Morse is also benched after the Tenn loss 5. Hyde starts to show his age 6. Moss becomes the feature back and rushes for 850 yards 7. Bills have 52 sacks 8. JA, Bass, Diggs, White, and Dawkins earn ProBowl 9. Rousseau finishes 3rd in DROY voting with 7.5 sacks 10. Bills 31 Cowboys 27 in SB
  18. Josh will sign an extension. It has no impact on the cap this year and very little next
  19. Interesting take. I would agree Dawkins and Poyer are 4 and 5. Dawkins is not truly elite but he is a top 10 LT. My feelings on Edmunds are well documented. He has the physical tools to be even more dominant than White. I hope he emerges this year. I've never been sold on Oliver and wanted the other Josh Allen or Hockenson in that draft. But he played well last year, DT takes a long time to develop, and he should get more 1:1 pass rush situations this year with a more athletic group of DL. I have two other candidates for elite status. Tyler Bass. He has an elite leg and he got better as the year went on. He could be an All-Pro next year. And then there is Knox. I think more of him than most on this board, but the board is correct that he lacks consistency.
  20. My top 4 1. Bledsoe - 2002 season was his second highest rated, second in yards, and highest comp % of his career. Not only was it one of the best ever in Bills history it was a highlight for Bledsoe's career as well. He set Bills season total record for yards in 2002 only to be broken by Allen last year. 2002 season of QB play was the best during the 17 year drought. Then it all fell apart. 2. TT - fun fact Tyrod's QB lowest rating as a Bill was 89.2 and as high as 99.4 (Jim Kelly's highest was 97.6 in 1991). TT was QB for three years and Fitz was for four. If you take Fitz best three years he only passed for 1000 more yards than TT. Where Fitz beats TT handedly is in TD passes. In Fitz's best three years he has 20 more TD passes than TT did in his three years. TT had 16 interceptions total in 3 years. Fitz had 23 in one season, 16 and 15 in the other two. TT offense led the league in rushing 2 years in a row and was a top 10 scoring offense twice 3. Fitz - as above, he scored and he turned the ball over. Fun to watch and had some exciting wins but just too careless with the ball 4. Flutie - more urban legend than effective QB. His best season in win total he had a QB rating of 75. The team won despite him not because of him. That he is fourth on this list is a testament to the 13 other piles of garbage that played QB for the Bills
  21. Don't forget Matt Barkley. He was projected #1 overall too before he decided to stay for his senior year.
  22. Put a dome in OP and cut back to 68K seats and raise the ticket prices I was all for a downtown stadium but OP just makes more sense. The cost would be far less and that savings can be used to build a dome. Just build a similar structure to Minnesota and it will be amazing!
  23. Agreed. After Oliver and Star the rest are street free agent types that can be replaced. Phillips and Zimmer are cheap and are probably playing for one of the last spots on the roster.
