  1. Yes. But why do the players have to honor the contract? If the market says they are worth more, why shouldn't they try to get paid?
  2. I'd prefer they bring back Spain, keep Ford at RT, and sign/draft a LT to groom for Dakins departure in a year or two. Dawkins is a middle of the road LT -capable but not elite and is not worth top 10 money. OT play in college is so terrible now that they need a couple of years to develop. If Spain leaves, and you ascribe to the put your top 5 guys out there, then moving Ford to LG and letting Nsekhe or another guy play RT makes sense.
  3. Love how players "need to honor their contract" but it's ok for Beane to cut any player he wants. Why shouldn't Beane honor the terrible contract he gave Murphy or Star?
  4. Agree 100%. Good post. Bruce Smith left for Virginia the Monday after the season and came back to Buffalo the morning of training camp. I don't care if these guys spend one minute of the offseason in Buffalo. Just be a professional and play hard on Sunday
  5. Get rid of all the divisions. Makes no sense not to play 16 teams each year. I would much rather play 3 NFC teams than the AFC East teams twice
  6. Yes the NFL needs fans in the seats, but they having millions watching on TV. Making the TV experience better is far more important than the stadium experience. As for the stadium experience the best hope for Buffalo is a dome. Second best option is covered seats for the majority of the stadium.
  7. I'm in the same camp. To me he is best TE prospect the Bills have ever had. He has the combination of size and speed to be every bit as good as Whiten, Kelce, and Kittle. I don't think he will be elite like Gronk or Gonzalez but he can be perennial ProBowl level player. He just needs to learn the NFL game.
  8. The most you can argue is it was an illegal forward pass and penalty for a safety. But he gave himself up and if it was a Bill's player that did the same thing you would see it that way.
  9. If I'm the Dolphins, I sit back and rebuild my roster. They are terrible. They can take a QB at 5 or maybe hope Tua falls and take him later. Hell they can pass on QB all together and trade down to get more picks in the draft
  10. I don't like Hernert that much but I'd take two additional first round picks and swap 1 for 5 any day. I'd try to add in another pick like a 3rd as well.
  11. They are talking about that in the new CBa. Dont now the breakdown but they are talking about a QB salary cap and then a cap for everyone else
  12. Why? Based on what? Arm strength alone is not going to cut it. I believe in Allen and like the trajectory he is on but it will be very hard for Allen to ever achieve 36 TD and 6 INT so one could argue Allen has a long way to go just to get yo where Jackson is now. How much of that is scheme, coaching, and other skill players is hard to know. Give Allen the TEs that Jackson has and he assuredly puts up better numbers.
  13. This is just a blatantly racist original post. If anything you should have the exact opposite take. Jackson has been a better passer by far and Allen has relied on his athleticism not his passing to win many games. The take should be that even if Jackson loses some athletic ability he can still be a great QB with a 6:1 TD:INT ratio and QB rating over 110. Followed by Allen improved from year 1 to year 2 and if he does the Bill's will be fine at QB. But he has a long way to go as we all saw in the Houston game.
  14. Just read more on Sammy and he said he had to get his "mental" back. Did Whaley and Rex ever talk to this kid? Doesn't seem like a good fit for blue collar Buffalo. There are all kinds of people in this world and there are good and bad fits for all of us. No way I could survive in bible belt SEC country or pretty much any rural place. Two spend two first round picks on this kid you have to know he would be a great fit. Wish him the best of luck and if healthy, I think he can play and produce for several more years.
  15. I'm in the camp of draft a QB every year. I'd be fine with a low round project. It's an extreme long shot but maybe you find a guy that has some trade value down the road
  16. At first glance I said no thanks. But I’ve changed my mind. Knox, Olsen, and Kroft would be a great trio. Cut Lee Smith and Sweeney. Carry an extra swing tackle.
  17. Dawkins and Ford can't hold their blocks up in a 7 step drop. As MJS said, the play defines the drop. The NFL has evolved to reads that are mainly pre-snap, and often limited to a single portion of the field. So many throws that are predetermined based on play design. Add shotgun and pistol formations and the length of the drop is less and less important that making the correct read pre-snap Best thing Daboll can do is more play action, fix the screen game, allow Knox to develop and get better at RT (either Ford plays better which I think is what will happen or upgrade and move Ford to LG)
  18. Need catch radius not more speed. Watkins is the perfect pairing to Hill. Brown doesn't have Hill's speed but he is fast enough and runs great routes and has above average if not elite hands. Easley is perfect in the slot. Let Knox and Kroft develop and add a big man on the outside.
  19. Uh, the highest contract in the league for a DB is $75M with an average of $15M and max guarantee of $50M. So you would be offering 33% more than the highest DB contract and $20 M more in guaranteed money. White is good but he is not Deion Sanders. He is not even Richard Sherman, Patrick Peterson, or Revis. Now is not the time to extend him unless he is silly and gives the team a discount. Get one more year on his rookie deal and then extend him after his fourth year when you still have the leverage of picking up the fifth year option and franchise tags. Use the cap space this year for a WR and or DE in a front loaded contract that still leaves money for White, Allen, and others down the road.
  20. No one on here was writing Mahomes off. He was playing terribly. And they were down two scores well into the fourth quarter.
  21. He was the best player on the offense when he was here. Second or third best player on the team.
