We have watched the games. The deep passing game is all about Josh not the WRs. Daboll has proven to be able to get guys open deep but Allen has overthrown them too many times. He got better last year and if he can be just a bit more consistent they can hit maybe 10 or 12 more big throws during the season. That is really all they need to do to make the defense respect the deep ball even more than they do now.

I thought the defense was getting shredded by the offense yesterday? Or is this specific to a few nice pass rushing plays?

It depends if Wentz's contract has playing time bonuses too. Players don't take kindly to sitting if it affects their pay. I've read in the past teams have paid bonus money if they don't hit certain performance thresholds due to being inactive the final week if the season. That would not be the case of course for draft pick compensation. As you pointed out he would need to miss a decent chunk of the season or portions of games to avoid the pick changing to a #1. That said if he needs foot surgery he could miss half the season or more.

Hope they keep his reps down. He is a lock to be the pk. No need to overwork him.

Good post. You can’t teach arm strength and speed. Accuracy as we have seen can be taught and improved. It’s hard to do but it can be done as Allen is proving.

Agreed. He is the perfect game day guy to have in case of an injury. He is probably not a guy you want starting but he brings so much flexibility you can dress one less OL for game day thus allowing an extra WR as a return guy or another special teamed.

They needed a center not another swing OT. But generally agree at that point there are few guys that will make this roster. Zimmer has a real shot to make it over Phillips. Phillips was a healthy scratch down the stretch last year. My guess is a fully healthy Phillips might be a bit better than Zimmer but it will be a close call.

Nice job. Swap out Johnson for Obada. Johnson has done very little to keep a spot. Agree with only keeping two QBs. Doyle is not making the 53. He will go to IR or get cut. Waste of a draft pick. That opens up another spot for a fourth safety.

Moss is so dam slow but he is great in pass protection and he breaks tackles. He should start and get 50% of the snaps with the other half divided between Singletary and the kid from Miami

He’s not #1 in catches or yards per game. Adams is. I would still have Diggs above Hill at #3. As others have said Hill is not a complete WR. Im also not sold on Amari Cooper as a top 10 WR. And last of all, DK Metcalf was a top 5 WR last year. I’m stunned he is not in their top 10.

KC lost AFC Championship game in 2018. They did little the next off-season except sign Tyrann Matthieu. The Bills spent money to bring back their starting OLB and RT. I'm not Beane's biggest fan and criticize a number if his moves, but he got guys to rework their contracts and got younger with more bodies for the pass rush. The projected starting OL did not play a single snap together last year. Bills can be a better team with the moves Beane has made. It will require Edmunds and Knox to play much better, Milano to stay healthy, and find a little more balance in the offense.

This is a good topic. I think it is easy to go with Roberts because he had some really nice plays last year. However I think McKenzie and the rookie DB can fill his return duties. I went with Nsekhe. Obviously he barely played last year but he was a low end starter quality swing tackle. I am not sure Bates or either of the rookies are as good as Nsekhe, and if either starting tackle got hurt they would be worse off this year. I really liked Brown and hoped they would find a way to redo his contract and keep him. But have to give Beane props here. Sanders is just as capable and less injury prone even though he is a bit older. Solid replacement move. As odd as it will sound they may miss Lee Smith and Kroft unless they make the move to get Ertz. Even though I have very high hopes for Knox there still is not a lot of talent/depth in the TE group. My guess is they will carry/dress an extra OT to play the role of third TE in goal line and short yardage situations.

But the two-time Pro Bowler was also better than the Internet might lead one to believe. Edmunds' 4.91-second average time to tackle ranked 22nd among qualified linebackers (at least 700 snaps played), and his 0.86 second get-off ranked ninth. Translation: Despite the chemistry issues and injury woes, Edmunds was processing the game quickly.

Picking up his option is about keeping control of the player and giving the team more time to see if he blossoms into the top 4 player we all want him to be. Of course he has played well enough to start. And he is young enough and shown enough promise (especially the second half of 2019) to want to pick up his option. I advocated for picking up his option. Seemed like an easy decision. However, if you think it is nonsense for me saying his run defense is poor then you simply have not watched the games.

We watch the games too. No Bills fan thinks he deserved a ProBowl nod last year.

Edmunds only does one of those listed skills well. He covers ground. He plays the run poorly at best and his ability to diagnose plays quickly seems quite lacking. I have no idea what memory has to do with playing MLB. I hope he plays to an All-pro level this year. Nothing would make me happier. But the tape shows he played poorly last year. None of us know if that was injury related or not. He had no surgery in the off-season so it would be easy to surmise that whatever the injury was it healed at some point. It may have hampered him all season long. We will never know. He appears to be a guy that has all the tools to be a truly great player. There are many guys that are physically gifted that never reach their potential. I'm going into 2021 with an open mind when evaluating his play.

Seattle paid Wilson and Wagner. They can pay for both. The cap will go back up. That said my feelings on Edmunds are well documented. He has been given a pass for his bad play because of his age and injury. No excuses this year. He has to play much better to earn an extension.

Tyreek Hill is a great WR I just don't think he is as complete a WR as Hopkins, Diggs, and Adams. Still incredibly dangerous but I'm not sure he is a true #1. He benefits from having Kelce drawing double teams where those other three are the guy drawing the double teams.

JA has 2700 more yards but that is on 400 more attempts. Please enlighten the board with how you have determined LJ is "just not a passer".

Please don't post facts on this board. They often interfere with the prevailing narrative Old, slow and injured. No thanks. I didn't like many of the DL FA signings last year but Beane cut/restructured nicely this off-season and got younger. Hopefully they have the nice mix of youth and experience to generate a consistent pass rush

Half this board wanted to draft a new QB last year. Now Allen is a HOF candidate after one great year? Lot's of players have one great year. There is no reason to suggest he will regress as he has improved every year. But nobody knows. Let's just wait and see what happens.

Thanks for reminding me about Smith and Matakevich. I forgot how many special teams snaps they got. I don't really know if they are any good at STs but they are not guys that you can count on to play significant snaps on defense. With that said, you are correct they did make some free agent signings that may improve the quality of the depth. I generally feel the Bills overvalue special teams but with that said they are unlikely to give a ton of reps to the rookie DL guys. So I think Gilliam still makes the roster though I can easily see them going with 3 TEs so they can carry an extra linemen. Same way as hope they only go with two QBs
