  1. Unless Allen regresses, QB will not be the position that determines the outcome of 2020 season. If Allen plays at the same level as last year, the season will be won or lost in the next 60 days. Beane needs to find at least two capable pass rushers, a deep threat , a rotational DT, make a decision on Ford at RT, and a back-up RB. He has the money and the draft assets to fill all these spots.
  2. Love that idea, but he probably won't make it past the fourth round.
  3. 100% agree they are not adding 9 rookies. But 5 of those 9 are in rounds 5 and 6. This is the year to use at least one of those picks on a PK or P. Also they can trade a couple of the picks for higher round picks next year. Looking at what Beane has done in the past, I suspect he will trade the 4th and package with a 5th or 6th to get back into the 3rd round somewhere or move up a few spots in the third round. I wouldn't do it, but Beane will likely do it.
  4. OMG hell no. This draft is deep in edge, DL, and WR. This is the year to trade out of the first round and get extra second and third round picks.
  5. I am fine with Knox and Kroft. If Croom, Sweeney, or an UDFA emerge as the third TE I'm fine with that. I would rather carry an extra OL instead of Lee Smith.
  6. Its a lottery. These GMs are of course more capable than the rest of us. But it doesn’t mean they are any good either. 32 GMs passed on Brady five times each. 20 passed on Rodgers. Romo and Warner go undrafted. The list of draft busts is endless.
  7. I agree. He is a solid WR but not a gamebreaker. He is not Julio, Hopkins, AJ, or AB. Hell I'm not even sure he is Smith-Schuster level. He's probably a 8-12 ranking type of player who will get paid like he is top 3.
  8. I had Allen #1 and Rosen #2. Rosen still may prove to be a decent QB but it looks less and less likely. Neither Allen nor Rosen would have done anything in 2018 behind that terrible mess of an o-line. If by the end of 2019, Rosen had not been the well established starter, then both Beane and McD lose their jobs. Beane traded away a serviceable LT, and two first round picks to move up and draft a QB. If they miss on that QB then they have to go. You can not risk them missing on another QB.
  9. I have nothing against drafting an elite OG or C in the first round. Rush the passer and protect the passer. But not this year. They need 3 front 7 defenders in the first four rounds of this draft and a WR. Even if they sign AJ Green, I would still take a WR in the second round. Best case scenario is bring back Spain on an affordable deal, keep Ford at RT, and add youth to the OLB and DE positions.
  10. From what I have read, he played in the 270's in college and weighed in at 287 at the combine. So coming in next year between 295-300 is probably where he will end up.
  11. Knox is the most physically gifted TE the Bills may have ever had. Look at his body type. He is not as big as Gronk but Gronk is a once in a lifetime player. Knox looks and plays like Ertz, Whitten, Kittle, and Kelce. He made the incredible catches and he gets separation. No doubt he has a way to go with routine cathces and he disappeared for many games. But he has all the physical tools to be a great one. I was never sold on Oliver but he played much better than I thought he would especially against the run. What was most impressive was how he finished the season. That is a testament to how McD used him throughout the year. I give McD crap quite a bit but he handled the Phillips and Oliver rotation superbly. Add 10-15 pounds without losing quickness and he could be great. Singletary will be interesting to watch. Does he have the frame for 300 touches (carries and catches) in a season? Already has been injured once, though a hamstring really doesn't mean he can't take the pounding.
  12. 100% agree. The college game no longer allows the OT position to develop. There are no more Orlando Pace or Joe Thomas guys in college. They need years to develop. I'd be fine with Ford at RT. However, if they let Spain walk, then I would favor signing a veteran RT and moving Ford to LG at least for 2020. That would put the best 5 linemen on the field.
  13. Oliver has the chance to be very good. Hope he adds 10-15 pounds in the off-season. Knox may be the best of them all in the end.
  14. AJ Green Bryan Bulaga I want Ngakoue but I don't think Jacksonville is going to let him leave.
  15. 17 games and I'd be fine with getting rid of all the preseason games. They are useless and if I was a player I'd be more pissed about putting myself at risk in a preseason game than a real one. College has no preseason and they are fine. Yes many teams play cupcakes to start the season but there are still great games from day one like Auburn Oregon last year.
  16. Agree not signing him long term but it is a mistake not to use the tag on him for one year. It will have no effect on their ability to sign free agents. And now they just have another hole to fill.
  17. Peters will be a first ballot HOF inductee And somehow people still defend the Bill's not paying him. It's supply and demand. He had the leverage based on his play. In a few weeks teams will be cutting guys who signed contracts and no one will have any issue with it. He was top 4 LT in the league for over a decade. There is no defense for Buffalo trading him away
  18. Beane and McD blew the comp pick when they let Gilmore walk. They could have had an extra 3rd round pick just by cutting a couple of bums towards the end of the year. They will not be in a position to get a comp pick this year or next. Even if they let J.Phillips and Lawson walk they will sign guys to replace them. It will be very difficult to be net negative when they only have a few guys that will be leaving.
  19. One is so hard to choose. I would offer up five guys 1. Mario Williams 2. Aaron Schobel 3. Jason Peters 4. Lee Evans 5. Fred Jackson
  20. Beane has traded up repeatedly. Why do you think he would stop now?
  21. Spiller was a top 15 talent and is a very good example of how not drafting for need can hurt you. There was not much controversy that he got picked at #9. The controversy was that the Bills picked him at #9 with two good backs on the roster already. In 2020, Spiller is probably picked between 25 and 45. I say this due to the general devaluing of the position, the fact this draft class is heavy with front 7 defenders, and other than New England I can't name a team in the league that needs a first round RB. Seattle maybe but they need o-line and d-line even more.
  22. I'd be fine trading out of the first round for an additional pick in this years draft and next. To me there is little difference between player 15 and player 45. Now if there is a run on a couple of positions a guy that may be a top 15 talent could fall to 22. If not, getting a extra second this year and a first next year would be fine with me. Or how about swapping spots with Detroit and dropping from 22 to 35 and getting Slay. The only downside to trading down is losing the team option for a fifth year. I like Chaisson at 22 - Gil Brandt has him going to the Pats at 23 in his latest mock
  23. Love it!!! Once less pre-season game fans don;t have to waste money on. More money for the players. Now just get rid of the divisions and play every team every two years. No more playing the same team twice in the regular season. Top 7 in each conference make the playoffs. Exactly. The worse scenario is giving a weak division winner a home playoff game against a WC team with a better record. Get rid of the divisions and then just rank 1-7.
  24. Keep Kroft. He will be a fine # 2. Cut Smith. Bring back Croom or sign another pass catching TE. Forget the blocking TE and FB on this roster. Carry an extra Rb and an extra swing OT.
