  1. Because McD falls in love with the wrong guys - see Murphy, Gore, DiMarco and Peterman
  2. I was curious to see if Herbert dropped. Also the Miami non-sense about not liking Tua was pre-draft smokescreen. Media should just stop reporting 3 weeks before the draft.
  3. I don't disagree but you can't pay everyone. Dawkins is not that good. He is serviceable. And with all the cap space that some teams have he will get paid top 5 money. But it won't be by Buffalo Pass rushing OLB that can drop in coverage from time to time. Far more valuable than Milano. Milano is a very good player for a fifth round pick. Just don't make the mistake of over valuing him too much.
  4. Bigger, taller, faster, more accurate, played in far more pro style sets, and not a head case. Oh yeah, Tua won big games. There is absolutely nothing similar between the two QBs.
  5. Half or more of the examples are not 8 guys in the box. There may be 8 guys in the picture but it is because the formation has a WR in motion or in close to the O-line. This draws the defender in but also add an extra blocker - the WR. A stacked box is when a team brings down an extra DB and leaves only 3 DBs in zone or cover zero in the backfield.
  6. 1981. Montana and Bill Walsh change how football is played. “The Catch” knocks out the Cowboys effectively ending their run under Landry and is one of the top 3 plays in NFL history.
  7. I’m ok with bringing back Dawkins as long as it is reasonable money. Maybe 7 or 8th highest LT. If he wants more let him walk. As for Milano I say draft two edge players this week and let Milano test the market.
  8. I read today that Howard played twice as many snaps as Brate did, but Brate is almost exclusively used in pass patterns. I still like Howard a lot. Bills are fine at TE. I think Knox is going to be great this year. Howard is a capable blocker that would allow them to cut Lee Smith. I'd trade 4th and 5rh/6th draft picks respectively for Fournette and Howard and go all in this year. Use 2nd and 3rd on edge rushers.
  9. Why would they get rid of a young TE ? Gronk and Howard would be a great combo. They would be nuts to trade him.
  10. Barkely has one good game in an otherwise unremarkable career. If you believe in competition at all levels, then adding a QB this year makes sense. DE, OLB, RB, DB, and what else would you draft? I would add P and QB to the list of needs. I'd be happy with 5 of those 6 added with DE, OLB, and RB with three of he first four picks. I believe in drafting for need but there is depth at DB so even though not a true need it may be wise to draft a DB (preferably a safety).
  11. I think the point is stockpiling QBs . I agree flipping them is rare. Steve Walsh is the only QB that I think was chosen by Dallas purely for future trade value and a bit of a hedge if Aikman didn't improve.
  12. Agree on all three of these guys. I might order Eason, Hurts, and then Fromm but I would take any in the 4th round This is the year to draft another QB. There are so few roster spots up for grabs. I'd be fine if the only draft 5 guys and trade away a pick
  13. Kurt Warner, Mark Brunell, and Ty Detmer all of which went on to be starters in the league one making it to the HOF
  14. Allen, Edmunds, Knox, Ford, and Oliver were all need picks. Beane drafts for need as he should. They need an Edge, OLB, RB, and competition at back-up QB and P. My bet is Beane comes away with all those and a DB or two for depth.
  15. Good call out. I usually check my stats before posting. Brady was good but seemed to show his age as the season wore on. Bills still lost both games even if score ended up close. McD needs to prove he can beat Belichick
  16. A DE, OLB, RB, and a P And trading away a couple picks for higher picks next year
  17. Brady was terrible last year and the Bills still lost to them twice. Don't get me wrong. Their dynasty was 80% Brady and 20% Belichick. But until McD proves he can beat the Patriots they are still in the conversation. I think in the end they will sign Cam Newton and challenge the Bills well into December for the division title. Bills have a very difficult schedule but so do the Patriots.
  18. He is not an elite like Peterson, Revis, and Sherman were in their primes. But he is top 3 or 4 now and in order to keep him they will have to make him highest paid DB in the league. Unless they sign Clowney they will have no other player on defense that will command top 3 money at their position any time soon. They can afford to overspend on White now. For another perspective, Morse is a 8-15th best center in the league and he was paid top dollar. It's what happens from time to time when the need is great. Can they find another CB in the draft to replace him in two years? Possible but unlikely. They are so old on the front 7. They need multiple picks and that assumes Edmunds can get better
  19. Well that someone is not on the team right now. Singletary missed time last year. No one knows if he can carry the load yet. I like Yeldon as a no.2 but this staff did not in the past. I would be shocked if they do not add another RB in the draft. There are just not that many roster spots up for grabs.
  20. Long will be the odd man out is my best guess. I thought that even before this signing.
  21. Pretty sure he meant Favre in NY and Minnesota where he continued to play great football. The fact you didn't get that is a bit perplexing.
