Beane has done a great job of adding and retaining talent for the OL. WR group will be one of the best in the league. RB went from old to young in two years. TE group has more talent than ever in Bills history.
But they still have no great pass rusher. I know Clowney is overrated but put him on that front four and the defense goes from very good to devastating. Oliver will be better and the free agents ends and linebackers are solid but not spectacular.
One more move and only Allen holds this team back from AFC Championship appearance. Please go get Clowney!!!!
Elite WR like Julio, AJ, Moss, and Megatron that have size and speed are truly rare. Separation is the most critical skill for a WR followed by catching the dam ball. Then size and j un moving ability comes next. Windows are tight in NFL and being able to out jump or outmuscled the defender is a critical skill.
I agree. Except Beane and folks on this board keep saying they draft BPA. It's nonsense. They needed a DE and a RB after getting the dynamic WR via trade. Mission accomplished
Stop. Bruce was all speed and deceptive power. This guy is a plodder. He will set the edge and be a solid replacement for Murphy by game 8. He makes the front 7 younger.
Still yime to get an OLB and RB
Get younger on on the DL and add an edge player. I'm fine with this pick. I would have preferred an OLB with more pass rush if going defense. I also would have gone with Dobbins but this is much better than OL or DB.
Anything other than DE, OLB, or RB in the second round is a waste. As for the third round, almost any position is fine even QB. The only position that makes no sense would be a pure center. They have Morse and at least two or three other players that can play C.
I like Shady and thought it was dumb for them to release him in favor of Gore. Shady would have been far better than Gore last year.
That said it is time to get young. RB is the easiest position in the NFL to learn and play. Just get a RB today or tomorrow. There will be other veteran options available if injuries occur.
No. There is enough talent on this team to win now if Allen gets better. A RB and edge depth players will help but there is no need to mortgage the future for these positions. But the only players that really would make a difference in the next season are Newton, Winston, and maybe Dalton if he is available. They are the only players that could step in for Allen if he falters and get this team into the playoffs and a deep run in the playoffs.
