Brandon Beane Season Ending Presser Weds 1/27
Ethan in Cleveland replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't get it. Why can't he be the backup center just because he is playing? Williams was the back-up RT when he was playing RG? Feliciano was the back-up cneter when he was plying guard. I too would draft a C/G high if they do not address in FA. Most of us advocated that last year instead of Basham. I could see Beane making a big OG signing in FA and leaving the draft for defense and a WR. -
Daboll and Frazier....have they run their course here?!?

I'm old and slow to pick up on the lingo. What does LAMP mean? -

Klein was worth the money and I'd be fine with him as a backup LB. You are correct he can start in a 4-3 and he can back up both positions. That said they should add at least one young linebacker in the bottom end of the draft. Mantekevic and Jones are guys that should be replaced with UDFA. Beane no longer has the luxury of wasting money on guys who do a 60 yard sprint as Bass kicks the ball in the endzone. -
Brandon Beane Season Ending Presser Weds 1/27

Do you really believe they were the #1 defense in the league? Isn't Bates the answer to your first question? He's already on the team and is a restricted FA. Feliciano was ok. He was not terrible. But he will be replaced with a rookie draft pick most likely. -
Brandon Beane Season Ending Presser Weds 1/27

We know what happened. Epic coaching fail but Beane has no authority to do anything about. -
Are we overplaying this team's chances had we won?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree. Attacking Brown would have been the gameplan. He was the weakest link in pass protection but Allen would have seen it coming -
Looks like the call to squib may not have made it to Bass

Great to know that an organization that wastes roster spots and tons of cap space on special teams can't get it right in the most important moment. Still the defense choked. -

Yes after an amazing year, no doubt it wil be easy to make multiple SuperBowls in the future. Dan Marino -

Rams would have been tough but the Bills have more weapons on offense. All Daboll would need to do is keep Singletary or Moss in to help block Donald. Dawkins can handle Miller most of the time 1:1. Dawkins was playing an an all-time level down the stretch. Best he has looked in three years after coming back from COVID. Rams are not nearly as dynamic as KC. Bills pass rush probably gets Stafford on the ground unlike letting Mahommes get free. -
Lol...they played ***** offenses all season long Stats say the pass rush was better but with Hughes and Addison like gone, I 100% agree. Keep addressing the pass rush. Would favor bringing in a veteran at DE to go along with the 3 young guys.

McDermott heavy zone scheme will be helpful as White works himself back to 100%. Elite speed and man to man coverage are not his key skills. He holds up fine in man to man but he excels in short and middle zones and rarely gets beat deep( exception was almost giving up that long TD in Baltimore playoff game where Hunley missed wide open WR)
-
White is a very good corner but he is not an elite CB. Only way he makes HOF is if he moves to safety and plays another decade. No doubt he makes a difference in that game. But just about any corner in the league has the sped to stay with Kelce. Had Wallace simply not given him that ridiculous cushion he would not have been so wide open. I suspect he was coached to lone up like that. The whole defense was playing to prevent a TD not to stop them from getting precious yards.

Should the Bills extend Edmunds?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't give these GMs any credit. There are plenty of morons out there. Seattle has a good one and he gave up two first round picks for a safety that is terrible in pass coverage. Beane could get a first and 3rd for Edmunds easily or an elite OL. -
Frazier getting second interview with Joe Schoen and NYG

They passed on Mahommes in 2017. Maybe the fans were right? -
You are very likely correct. I was posting what I would do. Not predicting what they will do. If as you say a move to DE is hopeless, I would trade him for another player or a draft pick. I have seen enough of him in a Bills uniform. I don't want him playing MLB for the Bills. He has value and there will be a team that will trade for him. Teams make dumb decisions all the time. Seattle gave up two first round picks for a safety that can't cover. What do I think will happen? I think Beane makes the dumb decision to sign him to an extension and it will be an albatross around the neck of the defense for the next 5 years. I don't even like Oliver that much but I would favor extending him over Edmunds.

OP nice work. Beane will need to make choices. He has wasted millions of dollars on FA DL and I just can't see him making that same mistake again. He got younger at DE and between Rousseau and Basham along with Hughes they have a solid nucleus. This team played great when the OL played better. The Chiefs spent heavily on the OL and Beane needs to do the same. I've posted many times I like Wallace at CB#2 (even after that last play). They could do a lot worse than Wallace opposite White. But I'm drafting another DB in the second round. 1. Bring back Wallace, H. Phillips, Trubisky. Try to bring back Hughes and Neal on vet minimum deals. Keep Beasley. 2. Cut Star, Williams, Gilliam, and Matakevich 3. Agree on letting everyone else walk. 4. Move Edmunds to DE 5. Spend FA dollars on an elite guard and Zach Ertz 6. Trade out of the first round and get an extra second round and fourth in 2022 and a 3rd in 2023. Draft value chart Pick 25 = 720 pts Mid to high 2nd is 450-550, mid to high fourth is 100, and 3rd next year is another 100 or so. The value lines up reasonably well. 7. Use Epenesa in the draft to move up from the third to the second round - this gives them 3 second round picks, and two fourth rounders and rids them of Epenesa 8. Draft in no particular order - C/G, NT, CB, DE, MLB, S, WR. 9. Try to snag a relatively cheap veteran DB and DE 10. If Trubisky signs elsewhere, then target Fitz or just draft a developmental QB in the mid-rounds to hold the clipboard. If Allen gets hurt for multiple games the season is lost anyways.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - I've got Nuthin'

Why did you think Mahommes was classless? Honest question. I've not heard anything bad about him. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - I've got Nuthin'
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Outcoached in both games. Simple as that. When it mattered most Levy and McDermott let us all down. Thurman showed up in XXV and Allen did yesterday. The guys that don't play cost the Bills and Buffalo two championships -
Bills sign 12 players to futures deals
Ethan in Cleveland replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why? What has he shown to deserve a shot? Not that I trust this team to evaluate talent, but what have you seen in practice or pre-season to warrant him getting a look? People made the same wishes for Sweeney and he is terrible.
