Seasons with only one week between conference/league championship games and the SB: 1969 - SB IV - Kansas City vs. Minnesota 1982 - SB XVII - Washington vs. Miami (9-game strike-shortened season; SB was originally to have been two weeks after conference championship games) 1990 - SB XXV - NY Giants vs. Buffalo 1993 - SB XXVIII - Dallas vs. Buffalo 1999 - SB XXXIV - St. Louis vs. Tennessee 2000 - SB XXXV - Baltimore vs. NY Giants 2002 - SB XXXVII - Tampa Bay vs. Oakland -

Maybe the bills in SB XXV? They seemed to struggle early. -
And the state should kick in as well. Buffalo Bills are New York state's only team. He is his brother: https://buffalonews.com/2018/05/03/pegulas-used-own-attorneys-in-pittsburgh-to-investigate-brandon/ "Gregg Brandon, Russ’ brother, is executive vice president and general counsel for Pegula Sports and Entertainment. Gregg Brandon is expected to remain with the organization, a Bills source said."

The NFL would change the break from two weeks to one week back then if the SB would end up in February, a big no-no. Now they want it in February. Go figure. It happened to the Bills twice during their Super Bowl years, including Super Bowl XXVIII against Dallas in the Georgia Dome. (BTW, Thurman complained about that SB, since the Bills were designated as the home team by the NFL, but they got the visitor's locker room, which is always less plush than the home team's.) -
So, Josh Allen threw a fan through a table
chongli replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Does anyone else find this going through tables stuff by Bills fans juvenile? This is why we need a new downtown stadium to end this ridiculous habit and other similar aspects of tailgating. Start acting like adults. But Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield are not top 10 QB's, yet both are establishing their brands: the former has a lucrative clothing line and the latter does commercials. -
Except they targeted Antonio Brown. Glad he went elsewhere. The next step needs to be a new retractable-roof stadium in downtown. The funny thing is, as everyone knows, the Jets and Giants don't even play in NYC, or even NY, lol. I was about to say this same thing. Nashville ain't that much better than Buffalo, except for the weather and lower taxes.

Your article made me become a fan of the XFL just now. Now I just wish Buffalo had a team.

Antonio Brown: Apology Tour - Preparing for return?
chongli replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am not so sure about that. Bob Knight had a warrant issued for him in Puerto Rico. He never went back there to face the charges. No one ever blamed him for that. And do you think Bob Kraft would ever go to Florida to face his charges/punishment if he isn't acquitted or the charges dismissed first? It is just a misdemeanor, so as long as he stays out of the state, he would be fine. The DA is Hawaii just up and dismissed a lot of warrants for people from the mainland a few years ago since he said they would never return to face the charges. So avoiding the charges could be the rational thing to do. -
Do you think the Bills are going to make a big run at Clowney?
chongli replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And the Bills won't be able to, since Baltimore says they will franchise him if necessary: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ravens-to-use-franchise-tag-on-matt-judon-if-a-long-term-deal-cant-be-worked-out/ -
Like Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa? The whole league was doing them. Strangely, the NFL requires that the host team supply them with 35,000 free parking spaces for the SB: https://961thebreeze.com/could-a-super-bowl-ever-be-held-in-buffalo-read-the-leaked-nfl-requirements-here/ "NFL requires a "climate-controlled domed stadium" if average temperature for that region falls below 50 degrees "Exclusive, cost-free use of 35,000" parking spaces for gameday parking"

Which team is Joe Montana is rooting for?
chongli replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nope, you are wrong. Here are the facts: https://www.profootballhof.com/heroes-of-the-game/selection-process-faq/ "Is a New Hall of Fame Member Enshrined as a Member of a Team? Obviously, teams take great pride in the accomplishments of individuals who have been a part of their organization. Often individual teams and even the Hall of Fame will list enshrinees according to the team or teams on which they spent a significant period of time. An enshrinee, however, is not asked to “declare,” nor does the Hall of Fame “choose” a team under which a new member is enshrined. When elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, an individual is recognized for accomplishments as a player, coach, or contributor." -

Yeah, Baltimore does not like to use the tag, but they said Judon would be their top priority in the off-season and they would tag him if necessary: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ravens-to-use-franchise-tag-on-matt-judon-if-a-long-term-deal-cant-be-worked-out/ -
