  1. Our gus can't separate on offense, and we have the opposite problem with our secondary. They rarely challenge the ball. We must be in the bottom 10 of PBUs.
  2. I know it was already over, but why doesn't Samuel step aside and let it go through the end zone? Would it not be a touch back starting at the 20? No time would run.
  3. We're not getting anywhere with this slow leaky secondary.
  4. Tre was benched by 2 horrible secondaries last year. The sell by Beane....we saw him getting better as the season went last year. Tre is no longer starting material.
  5. Our 3rd down defense will be the death of me.
  6. Neck and IR, is never good. Let's hope it's out of an abundance of caution. In a perfect world Hairston's rehab starts to ramp up, and he returns to practice after the bye.
  7. My trust issue with Bass is so low, that if we needed an extra point to tie or win the game, I would still be nervous. He's the furthest thing from automatic.
  8. Last night Sal was on wgr and said that the way McDermott spoke, they're going back to Bass, once he's ready. That's a big mistake in my opinion. We don't need a big leg, we need someone that we can trust.
  9. I hope this is it, because right now they all seem always be a half step behind. I've never been part of the fire McDermott crowd, but we do need to get the defense right, if not, we'll continue to fall short.
  10. I read that the more severe variety is 8-12 weeks. We're currently at week 9, if my math is right.
  11. Also no doctor here. Admittedly I'm a glass is half full kind of guy, but I feel encouraged that he's weeks away, and not months away. As far as the playbook stuff goes. We really need to give him some field time, and take whatever lumps come with it. We have the eraser on the other side. Ideally we get a few blowouts, and give him some time in the back half of the schedule, or when we wrap up the #1 seed by week 16.
  12. Before the Lamar injury, even at 1-3, there was very little chance they would miss, gven their upcoming schedule. But now, I don't see beating HOU or the Rams. As bad as Houston has been on offense. Their defense is legit. They only have to play mediocre at best. With all of Baltimore's defensive struggles and injuries, I think they're done.
  13. One of the things we have to factor is who is being activated in his place, and right now that's Solomon. By all accounts, Solomon has been horrible. I don't see how Landon Jackson can by any worst, and if he is, even at this early juncture, it's concerning. I'm not one that cares about being right, especially when it comes to the Bills. I rather be wrong. That being said, Landon looked extremely stiff in College. Not sure how that gets better in the NFL. He will need to win with sheer size, power, and technique, if he's going to succeed.
  14. I didn't focus on Torrence at all, but do agree with those that say that it was the worst the oline has performed this year. That being said, I remember Van Der Mark getting beat clean off the edge at least a few times. If his run blocking was as good as Marino points out, than maybe he becomes the 6th lineman, when we're not using Hawes.
  15. I know people are saying the sample size is too small, but I disagree. This is year 2 under Babich, and so far, it's been a disappointment. I understand that the anti-McDermott crowd will simply point to him. However, I will point to the one time he took over play calling duties from Leslie Frazier, and how it was instantly better. Calling plays on defense, is no different than calling plays on offense. It's not so much what you call, but when you call it. I'm OK with Babich stumbling his way through the reg season, as long as McDermott is willing and able to take over in the playoffs.
  16. I agree, Shaheed or Olave would be a great addition. My pipe dream scenarios, which I know a lot of posters would hate, is Dexter Lawrence. I think that would help alleviate the fear of being run over by the Ravens in the playoffs.
  17. I just think that if Tre isn't athletic enough for Tua, then he probably shouldn't be a starting corner for this defense. Our defense will never get over the hump, if we're unable to inject some speed and youth. But I also do agree with others on here, that say that play calling has also been an issue. As great of a position coach that Babich was, it has yet to translate as the DC. If we are still having similar struggles towards the back half of the season, McDermott needs to take over play calling duties. He did it at one point with Leslie, and the defense looked instantly different/better. Contrary to belief, I don't think McDermott likes to micromanage.
  18. I agree, he looks old and slow in coverage. The whiff on the Tua blitz is also equally bad, given that Tua is athletically limited. He came in untouched, and Tua did a simple sidestep. I think Tre has very little confidence, when it comes to a hard sudden cut or stop. It's hard to play CB in this league, if you don't trust your knees. Just my opinion, of how it looked. At this point, I rather see Strong.
  19. Doesn't sound good, neck injuries are nothing to play with. Would me a massive loss for them.
  20. Like most, I don't like that McDermott used the word IF. But, he is not one to undersell injuries. McDermott does not like to be put himself into a corner when it comes to injury time-lines, and therefore is actually very conservative. I think the IF part came from it being an uncommon injury. That being said, even the more severe type of LCL sprains take 8-12 weeks. A lot can change a month from now. Luckily we're still in Sept.
  21. I still have high hopes for the kid, and by that, I mean, make some type of impact for the playoffs. We've shifted to a more aggressive style defense, with more 5 man rushes, and man to man coverage. If mad max becomes who we thi know he's capable of being, he could become the perfect compliment to Benford. Benford is your physical technician, and Mad Max can be used against the leaner/speeder types.
  22. Before tonight's loss, I was going to say the Chiefs, but now, I'll pull for the Ravens. No way Ravens miss the playoffs. Chiefs have a brutal schedule, and if they fall to 1-3, they could be in trouble.
  23. Jaw dropping good. Makes me wonder how we are small up front, and slow in the back end. Hopefully this draft changes that, by the time we reach the playoffs.
  24. The fact that Solomon is active over Jackson, and barely getting snaps, tells you how far Landon is. Unfortunately. We need Hoect back, and hopefully that'll bring Bosa's snap count down. I would also love to see Mad Max to replace Tre, and Hancock to replace Rapp. We desperately need a speed upgrade in our secondary. Those 2 guys are killing us right now.
  25. I know he's had limited touches thus far, but from what I've seen, he hasn't warranted any additional touches.
