It must of struck a nerve, for Beane to react like that. That being said, you don't have be all in on either side of this argument. If you don't like a particular prospect, that's one thing, but we did allocate most of our resources to completely rebuild our dline, and secondary room, by adding speed, youth, and athletic ability. I know that most of us here, had been begging for this for years. I thought there was an opportunity there to grab a Jalen Royals or a Tory Horton type, but we passed altogether on that idea. But....we will see come Sept, who can, and can't play.

Same here. I generally agree with most of what Jeremy White talks about.
-
That would be the outlier, and a nice surprise. That being said, I'm not going to completely rule it out. What a nice problem that would be to have. However, if Hairston is going to be the player I think he has the potential to become, he's a day 1 starter. This is probably also due to my personal bias, given how much I wanted the Bills to draft this kid.

Except in money situations like the playoffs. I also agree with the poster above, about what the element of threat does for the offense. I personally think it's because Beane doesn't consider it a position that they are particularly strong at scouting. This is based on passed press conferences, where he has discussed, how immensely difficult to scout that position is. Some of the best organizations, have struggled with the WR position. NE during the Brady era, Baltimore, and even most recently the Eagles.

I have to slightly disagree, at least with Hairston. If he's not the week 1 starter, I'll be slightly concerned. Agree on the rest, but also think Sanders should factor in right away as the first DT off the bench.

Beane hates drafting WR for some reason. -
Bills 4th Round Pick : Deone Walker - DT - Kentucky

I heard to vastly different opinions. JOE Marino was not kind to this guy. They also had a Kentucky beat writer on, and he said that you have to watch his 2023 tape, when he wasn't playing through a back injury. He said...this guy was double and triple teamed on every play, and raved about him. You can't teach size, and in this point in t he draft i love the pick. If we can some how trade back in and steal Horton, it would be the perfect draft. -
Tory Horton sticks out like a sore thumb. Shocked he didn't go in the 3rd. I know he's recovering from injury, but the guy looks absolutely legit. Please go get him beane, and follow that up with the best remaining run plugger.

Wow.......totally forgot about Amos

Dream scenario would be for a record breaking number of tackles to get drafted in front of us. Pushes elite D talent down to us, and screws KC in the process. -

What don't you like about Hairston? The guy seems to be only scratching the surface. He has elite speed, and quickness, and has long arms. Also shows he has good instincts, which in my opinion are far more important than a guys forty time or any one measurable. -

Pick 20, would be way too costly, considering we'd be competing with teams chasing a QB. No thank you on that one. I would still like to see a small trade up for either Grant, Harmon or Hairston. -

WOW....haha. Scary stuff for sure. I'm afraid to ask it if I'm a good person. -
Bottom line to me, is that we have to get these evaluations right, to begin with. Next is figuring out the sweet spot to go get them. We need to avoid drafting at the end of a run. If we truly are targeting CB early, there's a group of teams in front of us, that could all go CB. Same could be said for DT.

Return of the Tre! (Tre White signs with the Bills)

There's always that remote chance, that he's closer to his old self vs. Last year's version, being that he finally was able to have a normal offseason. -
Draft as many of these 7 DTs as possible

One metric that I've always liked, is the breakout year stuff. It makes sense to me that a guy that has a breakout year at 19 or 20 years old, has a little more upside than someone that didn't breakout until they 21 or 22. Like the Jamar Chase's of the world. Those guys seem to transition much better, a d quicker in the NFL. If it took you 4 years to breakout in College, often times, you're out of the NFL by then. Too much pressure on coaches to win right away. -

Id be good with that as well. We desperately need to build a Championship caliber dline. As much as I like the low risk/high reward singing that Bosa was, we can't put all our eggs in the Bosa basket. -

I know he gets bashed a lot on these boards because he has the size to play the run, but is just a situational pass rusher. But the guy has a knack for making big plays at key times. I was on the Grant train, but have shifted over to Team Harmon. I do think Harmon will be gone in that 15-20 range. Dream draft for me, would be a small trade up for Harmon. Use a 4th and a 5th, and than trade back into the bottom of the 1st with our 2 2nds, to draft Amos, or another one of those top corners, before the run begins. -

We should trade for him, just so that Josh can torch him everyday in practice. -

This is my Brian Thomas crush from last year, all over again. Football speed and 40 speed are very different, but........there is a min baseline for speed positions. Such as CB and WR, and it's having a 40 under 4.6. History proves it. The second thing that's a good indicator, is the age breakout year. Gus that breakout at 19 or 20 in college, are typically your high ceiling guys in the NFL
