As it relates to your TP supply worries, my neighbor has a similar concern. He has started buying the local newspaper and is stockpiling them as a fall back. He did comment that the future use is of more value than the information printed therein....can't say that I disagree.....lol My betting advice is to hit the under heavy on weeks where at least one of the teams has a short week of preparation.

With the new expanded roster under the CBA, teams will be more likely to carry an extra QB for development and/or insurance. I would start looking to improve the backup QB position.

RB is a really GLARING need, right?
Florida Bills Fanatic replied to Richard Noggin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tell that to the Rams when Gurley hit the wall at over $14M/ yr. Give me a guy on his rookie deal or an experienced guy on a prove it deal to back up Singletary. The team can use another RB but drafting one at pick 54 will be a waste. -

Couldn't have said it better. Good RB's are available in free agency and will be available into day three of the draft. -
Mims “meets” with Bills
Florida Bills Fanatic replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm with you on this. Beane may not be convinced that all of these highly regarded WR's will be gone before round four. I found it interesting that several teams recently signed experienced free agent WR's to some fairly large contracts prior to the draft. That may be a signal that teams don't think there are many WR's in the draft that will make an immediate impact and plan to pass on them in the early rounds. If it plays out that way, Beane may be able to grab a decent prospect with a later pick. I personally don't see it playing out that way. Having watched so many of these draft prospects play in college, I believe there are several guys that will be significant rookie contributors. There could easily be 12 to 16 of the best WR's gone before pick 54. Having snagged Diggs takes all the stress out of watching this play out. -

Bills re-sign Isiah McKenzie

You may be correct. DE, RB, CB, or even O-line could still be in play at pick 54 based on BPA. I'm more inclined to believe RB or WR in rounds 3 or 4. -
Pretty good analysis on potential draft moves. Beane has shown a propensity to make his move up in the draft in a couple of steps. He may use some of his picks in rounds 6 and 7 to move up in round 5 and follow that up with a second move to go up in round 4 using remaining picks from day three. Given the status of the current roster, I can picture Beane being satisfied having only 4 players drafted this year. Especially if he was able to move around to get the players that he really wants.

Demarcus Robinson Free Agent WR - KC
Florida Bills Fanatic replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you're correct on this. I also believe that Foster played a good part of the season with a couple of nagging injuries. Training camp and preseason should tell the story on Foster. If the Bills draft a speedy WR on day two of the draft, we'll know that Foster will be in a competition to be the 4th receiver. Even if he loses that competition, he may be able to stick with the team because of special teams. I don't believe that Beane will spend any more money on a veteran free agent WR. -
Draft: RB Prospect Opinions
Florida Bills Fanatic replied to OldTimer1960's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IMHO the Bills will select a RB in the draft. I'm not sold on the idea that they are as motivated to pick one as some of us believe them to be. I keep thinking that Beane will be looking at the BPA in positions DE, OT, CB, RB, and WR in no particular order. It will depend on how their board is set and which position groups fall in the draft. As several posts have pointed out there are several decent options at RB and I will be okay with a fair number of them. Given the state of the roster, I don't see Beane actually making 7 picks. I believe that he will move around on day two using day three picks to make it happen. I expect only 4 or 5 at the most to be drafted by the Bills. -
Breshad Perriman vs Draftng a WR
Florida Bills Fanatic replied to r henderson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Drafting a good WR prospect to develop makes some sense. Very seldom does a team get through a season without losing at least one of their starting WR's for multiple games. It becomes essential for playoff caliber teams to have a guy that can fill in and contribute. In addition, Brown and Beasley don't have an unlimited shelf life and developing a high potential player for the future will be important. With great depth at WR in this draft, it makes sense to grab one. -
Dion Dawkins: LT/RT or Guard???
Florida Bills Fanatic replied to r henderson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You couldn't be more correct. If you read this board, we should have about 6 guys playing guard, a couple of new rookies playing tackle or at a minimum someone's castoff playing right tackle. People want to point to isolated statistics and make grand proclamations about the team. The o-line has room to improve, receivers need to get open within the timing of the play, the QB needs to deliver the ball on time, and running backs need to hit the hole and read the blocks. Watching the Bills last year, those things didn't always happen in unison and the result looked like the o-line didn't perform which was not always the case. I trust the coaches to have a better grip on this than any of us who are posting on this board. -
I agree with your assessment. The other knock on him is that he is overly susceptible to misdirection and counter plays. He is quick to move to the play fake, gives up his gap, and gets seal blocked out of the play. It is his quickness to bite on the first move that makes him so good at defeating non-misdirection plays. His new team will have to take the good with the bad. He is more of a free lance player that gets outside the team defense the rest of his team is trying to play.

What a long way we have come
Florida Bills Fanatic replied to Allen2Moulds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you. Their unwise over the top spending on Bell and Moseley have them driving down the road to cap hell. They have major holes in their roster and ownership that almost seems disinterested in the team. And then....there's Gase. How this guy continues to land jobs in the NFL is truly puzzling. Miami is on a more solid footing. They have a capable coach that gets the players to play hard for him. For some reason, they traded away some of the best young established players on their team for draft picks and spent big on (Parker) a guy that has been an underachiever for the vast majority of his career. The scouting and personnel people in Miami have done a below average job for years. If they don't turn that around in this draft, they will languish as a below 500 team. -
Taking BPA Literally - Mock Draft Style
Florida Bills Fanatic replied to RocCityRoller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good thread. BPA is in the eye of the beholder. Actual team scouting evaluations are never seen by fans or others outside of a team's organization. The point of this thread is well taken. When most teams say best player available they probably mean BPA in a general area of need. The worse a team's roster where they have pressing needs in many areas, the closer the team is to actually selecting BPA. In addition, teams with very good rosters can afford to be flexible and pick the BPA because they don't have pressing critical needs. Given the current state of the Bills roster, there are really no desperate needs in the roster. They can afford to make selections closer to a pure BPA approach. We may all be surprised when Beane makes his selections. I can hardly wait to read all the posts from people who are apoplectic because he passed on a particular player or position group. No one can really say that Beane doesn't make the off season interesting and no one should be saying that he isn't effective in the off season either. -
Interested in Carlos Hyde?

Yep..and he was playing with a poor o-line too. He may be looking for more money than Beane wants to pay. -

Dallas resigns cooper 5 yrs $100 million
Florida Bills Fanatic replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't underestimate your ability to understand cap management. Your question is one that Jerry Jones should have been asking before agreeing to this deal. This sure makes the Diggs contract inherited by the Bills look pretty good. Cooper isn't worth $8m per year more than Diggs and this will force Dallas to release some good talent in the future. -
Four years at a little over $11m per year for a player like Diggs is great cap value. We already know what he can do in the league and we don't have to wait for a rookie to develop. He fits the need at WR perfectly. Some will complain about the cost of the trade but I believe that Diggs is better than any receiver we could draft at 22. Beane never ceases to amaze me with his ability to make the right moves to keep improving the team without busting the cap. I'm hoping that he has an equally impressive result in his efforts to add some pass rush talent.
