Yes they did because we have not focused on the O line and skill players. I live in Cincinnati and they have pushed more resources to their offense then they have their defense. The game was lost today in the 1st quarter when the Bengals OFFENSE had two 75 yard plus TD drives to go up 14 - 0. The rest of the game was window dressing.

I disagree. Defenses can keep you from winning championships. Offenses win you championships. The Bills focus on their D and their pushing resources to the defense at the expense of the offense has caught up with them. We will continue to slide relative to the rest of the AFC if we don't change our approach and throw resources at the offense.

And if we don't change our focus from a defensive minded to an offensive minded organization well continue to waste the talents of our elite QB and fall behind Jacksonville.

And Jacksonville will move heaven & earth to surround Lawrence with an improved O line and play makers. Meanwhile our defensive minded coaching staff and front office will double down on trying to fix the defense. If we don't PIVOT on a dime and throw everything into surrounding our elite generational QB with offensive talent this team will continue it's decline in the AFC relative to the other top teams.

I'm normally an optimist but today I saw a very ominous future for the Bills: For the 3rd straight season a terrible performance by the Defense led to our exit from the playoffs. It has become painfully obvious that we are falling behind the elite teams of the AFC and the reason is simple - the Bills organization is run by a defensively minded coach & GM. The Bengals & Chiefs are better organizations because they both embrace an offensive mindset. They plow the majority of their resources into surrounding their elite QB's with the best O line and skill players possible. And as early as next season KC & Cincy will be joined by Jacksonville whose offensive minded coach will move heaven & earth to surround Lawrence with the best possible O-line and play makers. No one will convince me that this isn't the Bills fundamental problem. And I see only one way to fix it without risking a compete meltdown of the team that removing Bean & McD could lead to: Frazier must go and Bean/McD must commit to a major upgrade on the offensive side of the Ball. If they double down on trying to add more talent to the D without making the painful choice of removing Frazier the Bills will be lucky to have a winning season next year.

Or they can win by holding Cincinnati to no more then 17 points. IMO and given the resources pushed to the Defense by this organization and the fact that the Bengal's are missing 3 starters on the O line AND that the weather conditions won't be great this is the path to victory. I hope the Offense plays great and boat races the Bengals. But the Bills decided back in 2020 to follow the Carolina Panthers model - use an elite QB to elevate the offensive talent and plow the majority of the organizations resources into the defense. Now it's time for that defense to shut down the Bengals and generate TO's. IMO this game is on them.

I want to start by saying I respect McD and believe he is the reason the Bills have gone from the trash heap of the NFL to being among the elite teams. BUT, today is going to be an assessment of just how far a defensive minded organization can take a team in the modern NFL. On paper the Bills should win this game. Our investment in the D, particularly the D line, should pay huge dividends against an offense missing 3 starters on the O line. The Bills have chosen to copy the Carolina Panther approach of relying on an elite QB to lift the offense while pushing the majority of resources to the defense. It kind of worked for the Panthers with a SB appearance but that was in an older NFL. Can this work today? I'm not sure. I hope it can but it remains to be seen.

Here's another bad take from this hack: Winners Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan: It was a night for new eras and instant hope in the five cities that drafted quarterbacks in the first round. The path to landing him wound up being far different, including a costly and risky trade by Maccagnan with the Colts to move into the third overall slot. But the ends justify the means. The Christian Hackenberg error will be forgotten quickly if Darnold, the top quarterback on many draft boards, turns into the player many predict. Darnold is the third-youngest quarterback drafted in the first round since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger and has the temperament and skill set to survive in New York. This was the type of trade and pick by Maccagnan, helped out by a little luck, that could pay for a new mortgage.

"Miami effectiveness" was even more dependent on a couple of Bills dropped passes - like a TD and 50+ yard gain.

Bingo. Allen was something like 10 of 12 for 150 yards and 2 TD's to start the game and was a dropped Knox TD pass from being 11/12 with 3 TD's. And I vaguely recall a playoff game last year against the Pats at home where Allen started out pretty good. What I want to know is where to these people get these ideas?

Yep today I didn't hear a single talking head opine that after throwing FOUR INT's in one half that Lawrence was a "turnover machine" but Allen throwing 2 picks and losing a fumble is.

Trust me when I say that this is the best ice cream I've ever had. The black raspberry is to die for.

And a muffed punt fake (how the hell do you screw up a punt fake?) to make it 5 straight TO's in TB territory.

And isn't it funny how they don't call Lawrence a "turnover machine" in spite of his throwing four bad INT's in the first half last week? And if Allen is a "turnover machine" what does that-make Dak Prescott given all the INT's he's thrown in 5 fewer games then Allen?

I like the Cowherd show. It's wildly entertaining for a sports show and even Nick Wright is amusing. Greg Cosell is a great listen and once you figure out how to read Cowherd's BS he's actually quite insightful.

Damn, it looks like the Dolphins aren't listening to Nick Wright, Colin Cowherd and all the other experts saying how bad Allen and the Bills offense were on Sunday. I mean if we go by them the Dolphins should be giving their D coordinator a raise and not the boot.

It's maddening the false narrative of the Bills offense struggling under Dorsey and Allen having regressed. By almost every offensive & QB stat you look at 2022 was either the same as or better then 2020 & 2021.

Remember when Kelly threw THREE INT's at home against the Bengals in the FIRST FREAKING QUARTER! He went on to cut the Bengals up and the Bills won by a couple of scores but if Allen did that all the "experts" would focus on were the 3 INT's in one quarter. Today on Cowherd he had Greg Cosell on (great analysis as always) and when jumping to Trevor Lawrence Cowherd said something along the lines of "moving past the 4 INT's in the first half wasn't Trevor amazing". I laughed out loud! The same guy obsessing over Allen's TWO picks just causally shrugs off Lawrence's FOUR INT's. You just can't take any of these people seriously.

It's as real as "double secret probation"!

Remember the Bills already put in a defensive game plan for the Bengals just 3 weeks ago. Poyner is resting and getting treatment.

And you're likely to have a lot more TD's.
