  1. In fairness as Allen alluded in his presser I just watched, KC did a good job of disguising. Showing blitz and backing off, showing zone and blitzing, and showing zone but switching to playing man deeper. They did a lot of things that kept that ball in his hands longer - Hard to let this one go.
  2. I am getting into my comfortable "on to the draft and FA mode" If this team is going to go further they need to upgrade their interior o-line and d-line. Beane also has to consider that his high-priced d-line struggles to do what many 4-man fronts can, generate pressure and stop the run without committing a lot of extra rushers. I still am not sold on Edmunds and Oliver. Not sure if it is scheme or ability, but too many games pass where they mostly disappear. Edmunds had a good game agaist the Ravens, I would have preferred if the used him to try to cover Kelci today rather than roam the middle like a big useless nickel back. I am going to check out before I get too cranky. Good season still, there are plenty of teams worse, but KC has our number till this coaching staff and players can prove otherwise.
  3. We all know that they will quickly build up that pedestal nice and high, then push you off in an instance of failure. That is why players and teams should not buy into the hype. We had gaps on our team all year, sometimes our offense saved us, sometimes defense, sometimes special teams. We rarely had complete games because we were always doing things to disguise our inability to run the ball, or to stop the run, or to create pressure. We did a good job of taking chances borrowing from an area where teams were weak to counter where they were strong, but that often fails when you run into a more complete team without a lot of holes you can expose. It was a good run, with some miracle big plays and gutsy performances along the way but this team is not there yet. I do thank them for a really enjoyable season and hope they find those missing pieces and go even further next year.
  4. Ugh. I guess I did ask. Thanks.
  5. This is true. A lot of folks let Allen down tonight, but he will take the whole blame....it's how he is wired.
  6. Allen has to learn that those dump offs and passes underneath are money too. How many of KC's dinks and dunks went for big RAC yards? Did Mahomes have to hit a lot of deep home runs or was he just able to keep taking what Frazier was giving him and work down the field? Admittedly KC seems better at tackling to ensure less RAC and the Bills D struggles with that, but the point remains. That is the lesson that Allen has gotten at times this year, but has to be reinforced. There are no style points.
  7. I think he threw it away only 2-3 times tops. He was nonchalant about it - just threw it in a spot no one was at. Not a lot of stopping going on.... did they punt the ball even once?
  8. Beasley and Knox were open underneath a lot. There were a few plays where Beasley had the sticks, but Allen tried to force it deeper to Digs who was bracketed. It was a good plan by KC to take advantage of Allen's tendency to prefer to wait for a deeper options to develop, plus take away his Diggs safety blanket. I think Dabs could have done more bunch concepts and shallow crossers to mess with their man defense or force them into more predictable zone play. He didn't.
  9. Allen did not play well enough. Still needs to throw it away sooner, and better yet be quicker taking the check down when teams play cover-2 shell, or the hot dump off on the blitz. Tried to do too much...it is his biggest asset and weakness still. The O-Line played like slightly warm dung with the exception of a few plays where Allen had a lot of time with no open receivers, but Dabs and Allen need to get rid of the ball faster if their o-line is struggling. That did not happen for much of the game.
  10. Mongo had a horrible game. He was getting owned all game long and then threw a temper tantrum late, like that guy who is beat in a fight but still tries to talk tough as he drags himself off the ground. You got beat like a drum, own it and learn to play better. Always baffled by how reluctant this coaching staff is to play guys they elevate from the PS. They will stick to their 1-legged, wounded, ineffective starter rather than take a shot with someone healthy off the bench.
  11. Not a very creative defense when it is Kelci, Kelci, Hill, Kelci, Williams, Kelci, Kelci, Hill.... I mean, you know who their go to players are, but they are running free. We have sucked covering TE's all year, can this team not find one team that does it well and look at scheme and players and figure out how to fix that? That is on the coaching staff.
  12. I also think Beane is going to have to learn to let go of some of his less successful picks when it is clear that the position could or should be upgraded. He seems to get a bit stubborn about those, and I get development, but in this league you have windows of opportunity and you have to do everything you can to ensure that the players you are starting are the best available options.
  13. Tackling and attitude too. KC was playing a lot of man, but if anyone catches the ball they don't miss the tackle. Our defense has been plagued with poor tacking all season, allowing huge RAC. They were willing to cheap shot Allen and hit him late, they punched our offense in the mouth and McD had these guys so scared of taking penalties that we tipped over into the B word zone. Should have laid some late hits on Mahomes and pointed at their d-line on the sideline, "Got the message?". You hit our QB late, we hit yours. Then that nonsense would have stopped...
  14. They lost their cool. There was another unnecessary roughness, the whistle had already blown and the late hit came in. Then our o-line who have blocked like crap all night decide to act tough.
  15. We treat Mahomes like gold and Josh gets mugged and curb-stomped. Not liking the attitude. I am a bit old school treat them like they treat you.
  16. I also notice that KC can open field tackle. They do a lot of one and one, but do not miss once their guy makes a catch. The Bills defense gives up a lot of RAC off missed tackles.
  17. If motion fools you from covering Kelci who has burned you all night you need to step away from coaching. Very poor game adjustments and planning from Frazier.
  18. Who is that Kelci guy should we cover him? WTF
  19. Mahomes is so calm because no one is near him behind the line.
  20. Too much respect too as KC plows Allen and our D is playing flag football with Mahomes.
  21. Free releases to TEs all year. This is an area that Frazier has not shown any creativity. Just put Edmunds on him all game. Tremaine is not doing jack jogging around the middle of the field.
  22. Well that's it folks. KC us too smart to not run out the clock here. It was a good run. Too many injuries and key performance gaps on this team. Another step taken.
  23. Allen ejects the football every time he hits the ground. Never understood that, but has not been coached out of him.
  24. Beane best be watching our weak interior o-line...pass-pro? Run-blocking? We need a real NT on our d-line, and more impact from our rushers. Too many finese d line guys. Another tight end that can block with sticky hands would help.
