  1. White was burned on that play.... not sure if we need to go Blitz-0 the rest of this game. It is like Frazier has been possessed - who is this guy dialing up blitz after blitz,, and run blitzes have worked too.
  2. But it isn't. I remember Kelly trying to talk to Allen about having to throw it a certain way to keep a pass under the wind. It was early in Allen's development and the young gun looked a bit skeptical. Nothing beats actual experience, I think Allen has a solid respect for the wind in B-Lo - he has had a few games where the elements were a tough factor. Allen will learn over time how to better cope with our elements and it will become less of an issue. We cannot have a team that only can get it done in a dome, we will need to get better at running a bit for just these kind of games. I have no doubt we can turn it on in a dome if and when we play in one.
  3. A few here made that same argument about when the weather is like this. It is not Allen's fault that his longer passes are either getting taken for a ride on the wind or getting knocked down by it. Seems to be able to hit some of the shorter routes, but longer passes are going to be really tough with this wind. Wish Gabe would have caught that TD, but it is basically a 0-0 game. I think we are going to have to at least make an attempt to run it a bit more. Not sure if motor will get it done and not sure if they bring anyone else in to see if we cannot bang it a bit better. Got to take advantage of the passes if there is a wind at your back before they have to switch directions.
  4. One could argue that Butler and A J Smith helped turn around and lay the foundation for what was a very competitive Chargers franchise for years. They have had some historical success stories raiding the Bills FO.
  5. Would hate to see him go, but if that is what he really wants would have to wish him luck. He helped develop Allen and this offense so I am pretty thankful. He would be landing in a good situation, a team with a lot of talent and with Herbert who looks like a very talented young QB.
  6. Gotta make sure that sugar-rush Allen does not see this....not sure there are enough hours before the game for all the Elvis and Sinatra therapy he would need. 😁
  7. Fixed. ~ just a dude ~
  8. Yeah.... just amazing. I am stunned that such responsible dialogue would merit constraints.
  9. I do want to remember and recognize that there were plenty of brave and responsible men and women in blue - white and black, that risked a lot trying to defend the capital and our government representatives. And call it what it was, police participating in that insurrection that led to officers being injured and killed straight-up betrayed their own. Need to find better ways to promote the good cops just doing their duty, and drain the unions and departments of those that should not be allowed to wear or hide behind a badge.
  10. Now I don't think he is a bad guy, and I think I understand some of what he was trying to say, but to have the skills to run such a vast organization. Just wow, a really bad fit for the role. And another damning indictment on the Trump administration failures to fill roles with highly competent people. Because highly competent people will inevitably get on the wrong side of Trump's highly incompetent decisions and either push back and be pushed out, or leave on their own. He ended the whole press briefing with, "I so…I mean, I cannot wait to leave this job, believe me..." https://www.defense.gov/Newsroom/Transcripts/Transcript/Article/2473893/press-gaggle-with-acting-secretary-miller-en-route-to-washington-dc/source/GovDelivery/
  11. The cold... The wet... The wind... Their run game... Our porous run "D"... Our shabby run game... The butterfly effect... Seriously, are we going to make it to kickoff?
  12. Now I know you don't read that fast... Pretty easy to see the line of delineation I made regarding the activities that are covered as illegal under federal statutes and those that are not. If you have a protester that was not violating the statutes then they should not be prosecuted as such, if they were a part of activities that violate those statues they will be. Simple.
  13. Done. Any other year and it would be Allen across the board on these awards - just stellar performance and it is hard not to be excited as a Bill's fan because I think Allen still has room to grow. If anything, he does not seem to be the kind of player that will ever stop working to perfect his craft.
  14. These activities are NOT covered under free speech. There is some debate whether free speech can be applied to criminal acts at all, but at a minimum it is black-letter law that the First Amendment prohibits governmental sanctioning of speech unless that speech incites "imminent lawless action and is likely to incite ... such action. Not that I expect many MAGA folks to read. But breaking into the capital, being a part of that mob trespassing in highly restricted Federal property, beating and tazing officers, assisting a mob that had designs to kidnap and/or harm our elected leaders, seeking thru force to thwart our government in its performance of its duties, openly advocating the overthrow of our government these are not an expression of free speech, nor do they fall under the guise of peaceful protests, nor are they the same as a riot in downtown LA which would be criminal in nature, but may not break any Federal statutes. There are federal legal statutes that many of these morons broke - AND before you embarrass yourself further you should read through them below. Once you do, ask yourself how many of those who took part in the activities above who can be traced by selfie shots and videos, caught on the many security cameras, identified through facial recognition, backed by GPS data and their own social media accounts will federal prosecutors be able to prosecute based on the statutes. Losing their jobs is the least of their worries. Most are looking at a long spell in Federal prison simply because they were too willing to believe every lie and conspiracy that right wing propaganda outlets, Don the Con, and his GOP enablers sold them to soak them for cash and votes. Donald will seek to pardon himself and his family, these wayward idiots will not have that option. FEDERAL STATUTES - these are the statutes that are likely in play, there may be more: Insurrection federal statute: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2383 Seditious Conspiracy: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2384 Advocating the Overthrow of our Government: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2385 Registration of Certain Organizations: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2386
  15. The kind of zone defense that the Titans used and we saw Indy employ has LBs drop to cover the shallow middle of the field. It creates a virtual wall across the field at the sticks. It seems to also leave the both sideline shallow outlet options open for easy gainers. Much like the pass Allen dumped off to McKenzie near the left sideline in our game vs the Phins that was just 3 yards, but went for a 1st down....those are there. Allen just has to recognize the coverage and take those options when they have crowded the sticks.
  16. Not a bad analysis and I do think Motor will have a larger role early because he is so good at picking up the extra blitzer, but the Bills will have a #2 RB ready to go. How effective that player will be remains to be seen, but it is a safe bet that they will want the complimentary bruising RB attributes that Moss brought when he is on the field.. It is not going to just be Motor and Allen.
  17. He has always been a pretty blatant Lamar fan boy. That really hasn't changed much so no surprises there, just roll with it.
  18. I agree and feel like most teams gash us more to the left with stretch zone blocking, especially if they have receivers who are willing to block and get a hat on hat - RBs have had a lot of success either bouncing outside or finding the cutback lanes. The Rams were able to gash us on strong side runs off tackle with a kind of modified duo run concept where offensive linemen rather than pulling shoot a gap to get to the 2nd level linebackers/safeties but they added a twist of having their jet motion player come back with a crack block. I have not seen a lot of other teams try that with us - the Titans had some success running a few of those plays, but scheme-wise I think our D-Line has done a better job getting off those blocks and attacking that. I seriously hope Beane goes out and gets a big ol' run stuffer for us. The kind of guy that can take a few sumo steps and push the pocket, can anchor and not get moved off his spot, stuffs any runs up the middle, and has his own gravity well that demands two blockers to limit the run blocking options teams can use elsewhere. We get that kind of guy on 1st and 2nd down we can better put teams in longer 3rd down situations. Probably the easiest shot in the arm to free up our pass rushers from facing double-teams. There are a few of those IDL guys worth a look in the later rounds of this year's draft, I don't think they would have to sell the farm to land one - not sure how much Star has left in the tank.
  19. Angry and isolated - has some good insight from aids working next to ol' Don. Including how he sat and watched with rapt attention on his TV the mob attack and breach our Congressional buildings and how long it took him to issue his halfhearted "go home now" I love you nonsense... https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-finale-insight/inside-trumps-final-days-aides-struggle-to-contain-an-angry-isolated-president-idUSKBN29J2J3
  20. I do not back AOC on a lot of policy matters and I think she has a bit of a filter based on the demographic area she represents. But all these overt attempts at trying to deflect attention away from the complete train wreck which is Donald Trump and the GOP is laughable. Just a whole bunch of nut-job opportunists willing to sell out democracy and the sanctity of our elections for what - some bloated orange con man. Pathetic.
  21. Have thought about that too, and good points. Those DOG missed penalties torqued me a lot as it was clear they were trying to milk the clock and keep Allen and the offense cooling their heels on the sideline. I am hopeful that Allen and the offense were able to get that "first playoff win" monkey off their back and will play a bit less tight on offense and be able to execute better. I also can acknowledge that so many games in that long drought we had playing NE came down to just one play, or one bounce that always seemed to go their way. I am glad that we have had luck on our side, but I don't think I will ever be comfortable relying on our good luck. We need to play the run better and tackle better, and we need to move the football better with our RBs, and Allen will need his receivers to continue to come up big and also score. Can tell it is playoff time - been a long time since we had these kinds of threads on the Wall.
  22. Honestly, I have thought about this a lot and have let it sink in as much as I can I also have to recognize that we won by 3 points, the Colts had a field goal doink of the post, came incredibly close to recovering a fumble deep in our territory, and inexplicably pulled their stellar running back on a 4th and goal play that we stuffed. I think the best way to look at that game is to acknowledge the great plays we made, but also be realistic that we were damn lucky too. Humble and hungry does not mean playing scared or being too down on your team. I think it means being humble enough to acknowledge looking back at games that there are things each player, the coaches, and the FO can work on to improve their performance, it means respecting what the next opponent can do, and being hungry enough to not be satisfied and work at the things they need to work on that translate into success on the field. They keep that growth mindset up and down the organization chain and the wins will continue to come for this franchise.
  23. I have never thought of Mitch Morse as a mauler at center. Rather a sound technical player, smart, and mobile. Watching the Browns center beat Heyward solo play after play drove home the advantage of having more of a mauler in that role. Not knocking Mitch, just we may have reason to emphasize that aspect of center play in the future as we do not often pull our center on plays and have more need to keep the pocket from being pushed into Allen's lap and to be able to handle the better NTs in the league.
  24. Yeah, they were not your typical wild card team that lucked into backing into a playoff spot. They did some good things against us. I never expect those same things to work against Allen very well when copied by the next team. He learns and takes his game to a new level. Particularly recognizing similar schemes and looks.
  25. A lot of it is how poorly we played Indy and that playoff teams are tough...especially in the AFC. Not doom and gloom, but not Pollyanna either. Just pragmatic assessments from fans that love to dig into the X's and O's. Could be a tough game with how we stack up against running teams. We know what our team is good at doing, but also the chinks in the armor.
