  1. It would be incredibly underwhelming or we would have made a SB at least once. Probably the former.
  2. Not really a lock draft but over the past few days since the adjustment of talent rankings for these sims, all I got to say is this after seeing some of the teams draft classes… Thankfully the Cardinals are in the NFC. Real strong chance that team is a completely different one if Kyler can play well. 6 picks in the top 90; 5 in the top 71 is bonkers.
  3. That article is a weird one. Not sure what to make of her comments when she isn’t aware they’re being picked up/recorded for her then to completely backpedal and spin the opposite narrative to the hot mic. Either she felt disrespected or Stefon is that guy… Hope it’s neither but it’s one or the other so hopefully the latter as that’d be a shiesty move of her to try and get people in your work field to paint a picture due to your inside knowledge that’s incorrect.
  4. So to piggyback off the Aiyuk thread that’s ongoing, if you’re trading at least one first rounder possibly 2, who are you trading for? Jefferson or Aiyuk? Both want $ in the 30m range… But I’m in the same boat as you. Don’t see them giving up the drafts picks and the cash either will command. Chicago is as good a trade spot as any as they surely want more picks this year…
  5. For most, Diggs trade was coming at least next year. That’s where I’m at. Why the Texans? It helps them out tremendously. If you’re trading him within the AFC, one of the other South teams would have been good a la KC trading Hill to compete within a rival’s division. Chargers need a guy @ WR given the trades and QJ’s underwhelming performances when in the limelight last season. Maybe you could have thrown him in the mix with some other picks to get up to #5, if trading up that high is a scenario they see themselves looking into.
  6. Aiyuk is a solid player but no thanks to the projected $27-30m a year. His own words is he wants to be top 5 of APY after the Mike Evans contract. That contract is $26m APY… Not to compare to the Chiefs but they did just fine after getting rid of a guy who was asking $25m+ APY… Keep the first round draft picks to help the whole team. Then get a guy that still gives some financial flexibility and can grow with Josh. 9ers don’t want to move on is the word on the street, can pay him while Purdy is on his peanuts. Probably entails at least a 1st and a 2nd for them to move him. Then the contract to boot. Pass for me. 2¢
  7. Definitely didn’t split any more pants over it. Is that a direct quote from Ms. Glab?
  8. Hopefully this doesn’t force us into a position where we do end up trading up in the draft for one of the last consensus top 4; MHJ/Odunze/Nabers/Thomas… Whoever we are on the phone will obviously know this enabling the chance to “fleece” more from us given they know 100% who we want. Im sure like many, given the trade was pre-draft, that 2025 pick is probably ammunition to move up this year.
  9. Higgins could work but you’re probably better off keeping the draft pick as he doesn’t really define game changing talent. Jefferson is a mental option as you’re giving up at least 2 firsts then sign him a massive contract where he wants $30m p/y. His own words. Question becomes, if indeed it were a possibility, do you handicap your whole team for a QB/WR combo that’s proven? Or handicap the picks to a guy on a cost controlled contract to pair with your proven QB? Pros and cons for both.
  10. Because of it being a traded scenario, Peerless Price or Marshawn Lynch. Probably Lynch more as we got virtually nothing for him… Those picks turned into Tank Carder and Chris Hairston… Price we acquired a first rounder… Became McGahee and Peerless went completely downhill after an OK first season in Atlanta. Both were key components to one side of the field and seemed to split fans according.
  11. Seems like it’s going to be similar scenarios across the board. Defensive coach which makes the team gravitate defensive the majority of the way whilst they have a grand slam HR @ QB on a rookie deal. Even though they’re in the AFC, hopefully they don’t do what they did here and leave it a little too late to address additions to the offense. Only difference is they have a decent OLine in place and under contract for the next 3 years… Yeah. The P/O wins aren’t that great for the exact reasons you’ve suggested. And you hit the nail on the head, out-with the Miami game we haven’t depended on Diggs. Had a feeling they were moving on from him within the next few years, thought it would be when there’s at least a “#2” WR in place. Maybe this forces their hand more to actually give the offense as many components as it can/has given the defense over the last few years…
  12. Absolutely. Don’t disagree with you there bro. My only point was that they’re not specifically building a team around Stroud. They’re simply building a team. They had decent building blocks on offense and defensive and absolutely hit a home run on Stroud and Anderson. Key pieces for either side of the ball. It was said in the run up to the end of the regular season and playoffs that teams are going to start following that model. This year they’ve seemed to invest heavily on the defensive side, not that different or what we did here when Allen started taking off. A key piece here or there in the draft and they’re good. Maybe it works out for Houston? The higher draft picks didn’t work out for us as much as one would have hoped since Josh’s second year. Houston will dominate that unless Lawrence and the Jags do a 180° and Richardson and the Colts stay healthy. No disrespect to Tennessee but you can count them out for the foreseeable future. Credit to Nick Caserio more than DeMeco Ryans IMO. Dude inherited an absolute mess thanks to Bill O’Brien and Jack Easterby.
  13. Dalton Shultz (who signed a 1 year deal before the 2023 draft) and Noah Brown were the only offensive signings so far this off season. Both resigns. Last year he was still an unknown at #2 when they drafted Juice Scruggs and Tank Dell. Aside those 4 players, only 2 of whom were added around Stroud, Joe Mixon is the only other addition. Their attention is on defense. They had the tackles in place and brought in Shaq Mason to fill one of the other guard spots. All three of those guys are on decent contracts. They gave Shultz a decent contract and resigned a guy who they like in Brown. To me, again, they’re building a team on both sides of the field. Defense needs more work than the offense hence the acquisitions so far this off season. Probably said this a couple of times in this thread but what bums me out the most in this trade is you sent a savvy vet to an easily top 8 AFC team. They needed help in working the underneath stuff for Stroud. Diggs, Shultz and a running back combo of Mixon/Pearce should fix that.
  14. We can still go 17-0, 20-0 on the whole season too.
  15. I don’t know about that. Houston spent some pretty decent cash on the defense this off-season… Danielle Hunter, Autry, Desmond King, Al-Shaair, Mario Edwards, Derek Barnett, Jeff Okudah, CJ Henderson and Fatukasi were all given contracts this FA. They’re adding to both sides of the field whilst they have, what looks to be, a stud on his rookie deal @ QB.
  16. Dean better get in the draft room lol
  17. If he does, yes. But then you’re trading what, a pick that’s in the 200-300 point value range. Guess my thoughts of that not being in our possession is them trading into the 10-20 range.
  18. That pick is probably gone this year.
  19. Wonder if we can find one of those teams in the 10-15 range who’ll take 28, the 2025 Minny 2nd instead of the 1st rounder and then flip their pick that’s after 60 but not out of the 2nd/3rd round range. Looking at the teams it’s possible for Indy: 15 & 82 for 28, 60 & the Vikings 2nd rounder? Seattle: 16 & 81 for 28, 60 & the Vikings 2nd? Denver: 12 & 75 for 28, 60 & our 2025 1st? New Orleans is tricky given the draft picks they have this year. Oakland have the picks but a lot of holes to fill. Probably want to keep the 3 they have in the top 80 (13, 44 & 77). Jets aren’t giving up the 10 spot to a division rival unless we are screwing ourselves over. No thanks.
  20. Precisely where I’m at. Stings more that he was traded to the biggest up and comer in the NFL, let alone the AFC. Houston are going to have a chance to be a serious problem. They signed Danielle Hunter and Autry to add to their pass rush whilst adding Mario Edwards who is decent depth. The secondary sees Jeff Okudah and CJ Henderson brought in to support Stingley and Desmond King (who they also resigned). On top of those additions to the defense they brought back Noah Brown. Acquired Joe Mixon and now add Stefon Diggs. They’re now on par with us in the AFC.
  21. That is exactly my sentiments. Just a year earlier than expected. My concern is the same with Kyle… That’s a lot of production that’s been moved on from in one season.
  22. Thing is, the underneath guy is exactly what Houston needed.
  23. Very recently: Jamar Chase Justin Jefferson Puka Nacua Chris Olave Garrett Wilson AJ Brown Pats guys that come to mind: Randy Moss OBJ Anquan Boldin Mike Evans Michael Thomas Certainly possible. Draft 2 guys at the minimum.
