Playing them on a neutral site!! So we got that going for us....which is niiiiiice? -
So do you think the changes made by the Bills defensively with McD calling plays had nothing to do with holding them to 3 points after that? Or that Allen showing flashes of his potential was only made possible by chargers taking a ? ? All I’m saying is there were reasons to have some hope, and not solely due to the Chargers. I might eat these words come Sunday, but I’ll admit it if so.

Point taken. It goes without saying they need to be able to run in their sleep whatever they trot out on game day—inexcusable if not. It is ironic though that the Foles “Philly Special” or Philly Philly, whichever iteration it is, was not a success in practice before Eagles ran it against Atlanta in the opener this year.

As I recall, JaMarcus had a problem with the whole “film study”/“prepare” thing that’s typically encouraged by coaches, not to mention putting a hurt on the Sunday brunch buffet line. Am not worried whatsoever about Allen following in those footsteps. Boller, not sure what his deal was. Allen just needs reps like crazy Aaron Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Stafford, Wentz, Wilson just to name a few have the opposite of a noodle arm

We’ve all seen crazy happen before in this league, and I think that a desperate team can also be super dangerous—wouldn’t be surprised to see all sorts of trickery and looks they’ve never shown before just to try to jump on the Vikes early and set a tone for the game. Now if only Leslie could install a bounty system for Cousin’s head...oh wait, wrong coordinator

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/24702553/forget-home-debut-sam-darnold-new-york-jets-superstar-2018-nfl Hope I'm not just too selectively editing/highlighting here, but I think the point of this thread from buffaloboyinATL includes gems such as this from ESPN's Ian O'Connor, 2 weeks in to the season: "Nobody knows for sure if Darnold will be the quarterback to finally wrest the AFC East from Brady's eternal death grip, or if Miami's Ryan Tannehill, now 2-0, will surprise everyone in his comeback season and prove that his 39-40 career record does not accurately reflect the talent previously hidden within. But Darnold remains the best bet as Brady's divisional successor, even if that means he leads the Jets to one Super Bowl title in his career, never mind five. He has the presence, the athleticism and apparently the advanced maturity and poise lacked by his fellow USC Trojan Mark Sanchez back in the day. That's why Darnold's wildly successful big league debut last Monday night in Detroit might've represented the biggest one for a New York athlete since Derek Jeter homered and made a crucial over-the-shoulder catch in a 1996 Opening Day victory in Cleveland in his first game as the Yankees' full-time shortstop." The article ends with this fawning throw-away: "Welcome to the NFL, Sam, and don't get too discouraged -- Jets fans are expecting only one Super Bowl title over the next 15 or so years. With your talent and temperament, that shouldn't be too much to ask."

Amazing amount of get up and go on that beast--looks like it could rival a greyhound in the quarter mile--if it could stay oriented in the same direction -

He enrolled in the McD school of media relations, and is about to graduate with honors. Oh, and he doesn't want to give anything away to Zimmer, since he also knows you have 5K riding on the Bills losing ? (sorry, I had to grab the low-hanging fruit) -
Valid points. Regardless of anyone's personal views on kneeling, no NFL player is allowed to do whatever they want on their employer's dime, if against the rules to do so, just like any other employee. The only reason the owners haven't cracked down on it more is a PR worry--but by letting the issue fester without a real resolution, it's made it even worse IMO. Flyover America not happy, Kaep and his fans also not happy, great result! In the meantime we have to have arguments over whether or not Reid's off the field views should affect our GM's decision on whether or not to sign him. Football used to be an escape from political back and forth--wonder if it ever will be again?

Browns are going to the playoffs

Not even a fair comparison--Mahomes sat on his butt for year 1, learning, absorbing, being mentored by cagey QB vets, Andy Reid as his offensive muse, etc. Oh, and, he has a legit SB-capable supporting cast around him to bail him out. Allen? Not so much. If anything, it's almost more surprising that Allen looked as good as he did (at times) last week and didn't pull a Peterman, even after Vontae pulls his disappearing act, his WR's are doing their best impression of the walking dead on curl routes, and his center is setting up shop in his lap. That's progress by Allen, and I can't wait to see what he does when everyone around him also improves. I guess that's a long winded way of saying I'm good with the big fella right now. -

The coaching staff dynamics in Cleveland give me pause...not sure that they can put their individual egos aside for the good of the team—cutthroats at the coordinator spots and clueless at HC
