  1. Debating the overall level of career suckiness or really really career suckiness of a soon to be consigned to the dustbin of NFL history former Pats player makes me want to formally say that I can’t wait for the 2019 season to start. That is all.
  2. My thoughts exactly—QB needy teams like the Cards usually don’t dump 1st round assets after a throw away year do they? Unless they already know more about him than the rest of us in terms of issues/problems, which is certainly quite possible. My worry with that scenario would be the ego of this kid translating into a not so team friendly situation where he knows he’s relegated/banished into a backup role and lets everyone know how unhappy he his with his lot in life. Just don’t think it would go well.
  3. Hopefully he wished for the Pats downfall when he blew out his cake candles ?
  4. Ditto Donuts. I do know that the Ivy League used to be all that in the sports arenas back in the day, the reeeeaaaallllly old day, pre WW2, so I’m sure it would take a very deep dive into the archives to find anyone more successful in their respective eras as to the criteria you laid out.
  5. The KC Chiefs Offense from last year—who will be the next one from that bunch accused of beating up women? (Morse excepted of course!)
  6. I don't want to be that curmudgeon guy, but seems like overkill at this point in terms of trying to invent new "entertainment options" for the stadium crowds--all of the owners are trying to do that in some form or fashion under the guise of attracting more business/traffic, but at what point do you draw the line and say you're here for the game down on the field and treat the field with a little more priority than the ancillary food court at the mall? If the fans really are that bored/fickle, then find something else to do with your Sunday afternoons. Look, I'm all for more comfortable seats, cheaper concessions and decent wifi throughout, but I also know I'm not in Vegas when I'm attending a local sporting event, jmho. Did anyone see marketing genius Russ Brandon back in town coincidentally?
  7. Allen taking his early lumps and getting them out of the way last year I agree could be the biggest blessing in disguise, we'll see.
  8. Grew up right by East Brady, PA. Became a rabid Bills fan for life in the middle of Steeler country, by following Jim Kelly whose welcome sign to East Brady made a big impression on me as a little kid, and I haven't left the fold since. Also, my roomie in college was from Amherst, and I helped he and his dad shovel snow one year at their place, so I count myself an honorary citizen after that, lol. Finally, my youngest was born on the same day as Allen's first road start and win, the instantly infamous "leap" game in Minnie, so she as the good luck charm that day, will now have the honor of always being reminded of that by me as she grows up.
  9. Donuts, I have little doubt that more foolish than usual, would be the fool that even attempts to pry that Bills gear from you, no matter the state of your composition at that moment--that's a "hauntable" offense in my book, hands down.
  10. Have never stopped wearing Bills gear during even the worst years of the drought, and proudly so. Pulling for this team means more to me than their W-L record year in, year out. It's all about staying true to my inner kid who fell in love with the late 80's early 90's Bills by osmosis through following Jim Kelly, whose hometown was right next to mine in Western PA, and no one will ever take that away from me. It takes a weaker kind of fan I think, to pull for the flavor of the day, like the Pats or the Seahawks, etc., as opposed to a franchise that's so often let one down in the end. Plus, taking grief from all the Steelers fans around me only solidified my "rebellious" allegiance to the Bills. Wearing it now in ATL, I've only ever gotten positive feedback from other fans, either native Buffalonians or otherwise, nothing ever negative.
  11. I actually liked the section about quitting fantasy football the best...I had a lot of the same reasons a couple years back, and now enjoy my NFL weekends with much less stress, but that's just me. I don't fault anybody who thinks FF is still the best thing since sliced bread though.
  12. Until Darnold proves he can take over a game, I'm not afraid to hope the Bills just stack the box and focus on shutting Bell down. Plus it looks like their O-line is shaping up to take a step backwards this year, which can only help us in this overall regard as well. Bell will not be running behind the same type of line he had in Pittsburgh, that's for sure.
  13. ...said no one in the Steelers organization. Just wanted to point out that there have been and are plenty of tough guys in the NFL who also carry a deep personal faith with them at the same time. Being an outstanding NFL player and being a person of faith are not mutually exclusive, that's all I'm saying.
  14. Let him go to the Pats. Good riddance...maybe he''ll sabotage some of their game planning by dishing out some suspension--worthy cheap shots early in the year, and we can take advantage of his backup.
  15. How many times during the Patsies run have they had a true “star” WR headlining the group outside of a back end Randy Moss? Also, look at the Lions with Megatron who never busted loose as 2 quick examples of this theorem in action. Don’t get me wrong, I’d always love to have a bit of star power where I can get it, but I’m certainly not sold on it being a prerequisite for long term success, imho. Having not one but multiple guys who can get open and have good hands/speed to boot, and thus can’t all be double covered from the LOS? Yes please!
  16. Beane has literally bent over backwards to dole out enough of KTP’s money to shore up Allen’s supporting cast so that exactly this can happen. It’s all on the young pup’s shoulders (and legs) now. One of the reasons I’m already sold though, is that Allen didn’t fold up like a cheap suit or start the blame game/deflection theme when few of us could’ve blamed him considering what he was working with, and behind, all year. That kind of survival of baptism by fire in year one has to count for something now, no?
  17. I don't disagree with you--but Allen is well on his way to living up to the hype, imho. Just wish the season was getting ready to start next week.
  18. It's hasn't cumulatively "rained" boatloads of quality FA's like this over at OBD to address glaring needs in one offseason, in...I don't even know how long, so forgive me for being more optimistic that usual during the off-season. That said, I 100% agree that we need to translate this into on field results...it's just that for the first time in a long time, I have more confidence in the way that this front office goes about its business. Am totally trusting the process right now.
  19. Who couldn’t get Cole Beasley? Can’t put my finger on it...
  20. It would be poetic if getting W’s against Miami end up being the difference in getting a playoff berth! Warming up the popcorn machine now
  21. Thanks @Logic, I admit I wasn’t even aware of those 2 options for Bills analysis. Have pulled up the podcasts and will dig in! I will let @Joe in Winslowhandle the Schopp take down , and yes, I also feel like Schopp has been less than fair in his Josh Allen takes—but to each their own I guess.
