Broncos at Bills Preseason Game Day thread.
VW82 replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall
If our line can just hold up this offense is going to be unreal. Weapons, weapons everything. -
I mean, who cares?? Didn't we all know that it might take Elam a min to figure out the league? We need him to have things on lockdown by November. Same with Tre. Stealing Von from the Rams is going to help out so much here. Plus we're another year in for Oliver, Rousseau, and Edmunds. It's not like we need to cover all day back there. And even if we do, Taron is fine to move outside, Dane & Siran know the system well, and we have the best safety tandem in the league. I hope Benford continues to impress but I am absolutely NOT worried about Elam. These kids should be worked in slowly and at their own pace, and we should trust that McD and Leslie know what they're doing here. They've given us every reason to believe they do when it comes to DBs.

I'm still in love with the Cook pick, value or not. He's going to be a difference maker for us sooner rather than later. I share your concerns about the OL. Never been a big fan of Morse. He's a heady player but his history of concussions is so concerning and he handicaps any chance of a solid run game. Saffold can't stay on the field either. It wasn't exactly confidence inspiring to hear Beane still touting Cody after the draft either. At least we have OL stability?? All in all, good draft. When you're a juggernaut, you draft for need and we had a need for speed. Mission accomplished.

Rd 5, Pick 148 (5): WR Khalil Shakir, Boise St

Hello future (current?) slot receiver! -
I'm a huge McD backer but him and Leslie did this team no favors with their game plan. 13 seconds aside, I still think they had PTSD from Oct 2020 when Edwards-Helaire ran it down their throat after dropping everyone. Then we rushed four or blitzed in AFC championship game playing right into their strength. Same thing last year. Watching Cincy drop their DEs as spies was maddening. Not as maddening as us still rushing four with 13 seconds mind you...

Rd 2, Pick 63 (31): RB James Cook, Georgia
VW82 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because he played for Georgia. They have a run-focused offense and lots of weapons / mouths to feed. It's probably fair to question his lackluster college career production and wonder how his body will hold up due to his size, or whether he has the work ethic to truly excel. But the tape doesn't lie, and the fact he has a superstar brother currently killing it with the Vikings doesn't hurt. -

Like seriously, how many ways are there to get excited about this one? How about the fact he has hardly has any miles on him? Edit: I get that some will be disappointed he isn't a three down back but this kid looks like a potential star player to me with his versatility, explosion, and surprising polish for how little tape there is. -

I'm completely out-of-my-mind-over-this-pick excited. WOW. I'm calling offensive rookie of the year now. Related to Dalvin Cook but plays like Kamara. Somebody hose me down. -
Trading away the 4th sucks but we're a potential SB contender this year. It was more important to get our guy and help shore up one of our few team weaknesses.
-
Big, physical corner that we traded up for and our HC has a great history as a former DB finding DBs. Yeah, I'm gonna say this one probably works out.

Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million
VW82 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
120M for a 33 yr old who I thought might have been done last year before getting traded. Somebody hold me. -
No. We rushed four even though Mahomes had to throw quickly. We had two guys guarding the sidelines even though Chiefs had three timeouts. Basically, we sacrificed half our defense needlessly. Then, we call a timeout to give them a good look at our crappy defense which allowed Kelce to break off his route and find the seam. No bumping WRs. No nothing. We should have had 9 guys in coverage. We should have squib kicked. We F'd up so relentlessly in those 13 seconds it's a wonder we didn't somehow lose before OT.

I'm huge McD backer. Have been ever since he changed the culture year one and somehow took that team to the playoffs. I'm having trouble with last night. His situational football has never been very good but to lose the lead with 13 seconds left is indefensible. Why are we rushing four guys with 13 seconds? Why do we not have 9 guys in coverage? We stopped coaching. I'm just sick about it.

1/15/22 WC PLAYOFFS Bills vs Pats* Postgame Thread
VW82 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
This was such a beautiful work of art. From Josh's historic performance, to zero punts or FGs, to our newfound physicality, to the flawless game plan, and finally Belicheat having to stand there praising us after kicking his ass, in a suit no less. What a gift. -

How are we supposed to feel about this win??
VW82 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
You should feel exactly like you did coming in to the game. We're still the same frustrating team that has some talent but lacks toughness and consistency. If you're expecting the Bills to suddenly morph back into a SB contender then you might be disappointed. If you've adjusted your expectations to just hoping we can make the playoffs and maybe steal a round in the right match up then today shouldn't change that. -

What I saw, and why I am actually optimistic after this Bucs game
VW82 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wish I shared OPer's confidence. What I saw was that we need Josh to put on the superhero cape in order to win, only every time he does that he gets dinged up. But if he doesn't, we have no running threat and teams tee off on us. Defensively there's a lot of Dane Jackson and Taron Johnson involved. We need a killer pass rush and that's been missing for more than a month. -
Week 14 Gameday Bills at Buccaneers Postgame thread

Classic Bills loss. Classic Bills season. I have no idea why we played Diggs down the stretch. He was a total liability after coming up lame. At least Josh showed some heart. -
