Credit the Colts. They had a great game plan and probably should've won. Josh's sack was so reminiscent of the Houston game. It was not a good play but this time the defense stepped up. Thank goodness. Phil Rivers is still pretty terrifying. The stat sheet says he only coverted nine 3rd downs but it felt like a million.

Week 15 Bills @ Broncos 2nd Half Gameday Thread

Poyer's not hurt. He's still body slamming dudes into the cold, hard ground. Can you feel that? It feels like we're going to the SB. -
Bills sign Brandon Beane to contract extension!!!

Josh, McD, and Beane are all young. All three might be here for 10-15 years. 😃 -
Bills sign Brandon Beane to contract extension!!!

Well deserved. It's hard to know what's more exciting, our present or our future. -
The josh haters are out in force today

There are going to be non-believers until Josh proves himself over multiple seasons. He probably has to win in the playoffs too. The fact is his college career and first two NFL seasons were so raw that the bar is higher for him to earn trust from the average fan that isn't watching him every week. Hopefully opposing coaches continue to underestimate him too. -
Bills Worst 2nd half defense in the NFL
VW82 replied to BITE ME's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Defense steps up and bails the team out numerous times down the stretch after turnovers, somehow giving up zero 4th quarter points. Game balls all over the place on D. -
That was probably the play of the year (so far). Sucks it happened against us. Tip your hat.

How much is Josh going to cost if hes a top 8 QB by next year?
VW82 replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It makes sense to do the extension this off season. Even if he's great and we make a run to AFC title game he still has two years of bad tape out there that will keep the number down. Hard to see him getting 35M+ without making the SB. If you wait and he's great in year four then you're paying top dollar and it'll be tough to win unless he's MVP level every year. -
Prior to his injury Tua was the most hyped QB prospect since Luck, and unlike with Allen the media hasn't seen him struggle (at any level). It shouldn't be a surprise that people are going nuts after he had a good game.

I was tempted to start an "Apologize to the coaching staff" thread for all the nonsense posts over the few weeks about our game plans but decided to post here instead. That Pete Carroll post game quote about not anticipating us completely abandoning the run was priceless. We're a different team every week, emphasizing whatever we need in order to win the game. I don't know if this counts as a signature win but it was a good one.

Gameday Thread Week 9 2nd Half Bills vs Seahawks

Change the channel for seconds to check on my KC eliminator pick and we give up a bomb TD. I thought McD was supposed to be too conservative. -

I'm beginning to wonder if we decided to use LBs and TEs across the Oline if Hawks still couldn't get home. This was a good week to have line issues. Hopefully Ford and Winters are ok. -

You're right there were some options just not much that would've moved the needle imo. -

Let's see how Harrison plays vs. us this week if he even makes it off the practice squad. McLendon might have been a useful pick up but he had connections to TB coaching staff and that ship sailed anyway. -

I'm ok with not making moves. We're not a move or two from making the SB anyway, and the things we needed (nose tackle, LB and CB depth) either weren't available or wouldn't have worked with our cap situation. This is a fun but flawed roster. I'm OK cheering for that to whatever end. Next year is our window. -
One thing about Allen is you have to take the long view. That's not an easy thing to do in this era of results or bust QBing but he just isn't like the other QBs given his history (or lack thereof). He still requires some kid gloves at times from an evaluation standpoint. I don't agree with the posters washing away his (at times) bad play over the last month. You can blame some of the turnovers on his teammates but he's had a bunch of near misses that easily could've been turnovers, and his (delayed) decision making vs. Pats really stood out. He still has a ways to go. I didn't think he'd get to be this good so he's already proven me wrong and I'm ecstatic to admit that because it means we have a QB. Let's let this thing play out a little longer to see if he can continue finding counters to good coaching like he's faced in three of the last four weeks.

I think this is a good team as appose to very good. Our coaching has helped us to a 6-2 record which is perhaps a little better than our play has warranted. The defense has some glaring weaknesses this year with Edmunds and White playing banged up and no beef on the Dline. The offense is improved but not to the degree where it can win games vs. good teams all by itself.

Are our WRs not getting separation? Or is it Allen?
VW82 replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think some of it is Josh is still a little slow sometimes to decipher coverage and make quick decisions especially vs. dime and nickel. On the plus side, all this zone coverage help mitigate the accuracy issues as Josh can wait for someone like Beasley to find the soft spots and sit in them. Not everything has to be perfectly placed with the receiver running full speed. -
Look for the same blueprint we used vs. KC. Hawks are going to have to rush for 250 to beat us. If we let Russ cook they'll score 40.

This team is battle tested and finds ways to win
VW82 replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We're winning games in multiple ways now. Last week we shut down the Jets with suffocating defense. This week we turned into a mauling running team. We're flexible and not afraid to go after opponent weaknesses even if it's not our strength. That's a sign of a good team. -
Which series exactly are you referring to where our conservative run approach hurt us? 1st series: TD 2nd series: Josh overthrows Davis on 2nd down and then misses Moss short. Punt. 3rd series: Josh loses yards in the "sack" running OB then misses to Diggs who was covered and short of the first down anyway. Punt. 4th series: INT Second Half 1st series: TD 2nd series: Josh misses Diggs open on 2nd down and then bails on the pocket and runs OB short on 3rd and long. Punt. 3rd series: TD 4th series: FG. three of the four plays prior to the FG were passes including the drop in the EZ by Davis. Sure seems like our non scoring drives ended because we didn't execute in the passing game.
