Love our 2nd half defensive game plan of Brady making poor throws to wide open receivers. Let's keep that up. -

In fairness to us, Tampa has by far the most stacked roster in NFL. And they're a bad match up for us with a huge, quality Oline and some HOF pass rushers. This is still heartbreaking though. I legit thought we could be a contender coming into this season. -
Week 14 Gameday Bills at Buccaneers First Half thread

We are so small and soft on both lines. It's just so frustrating watching us lose like this. What a waste of a cheap year on Josh's contract. -
I'm not blaming Allen. I'm blaming the coaching staff for their game plan and play calling. Knox did have a bad drop on that 3rd and 19. The one in the end zone wasn't a drop - it was a pass break up. The Beasley "drop" involved him laying out for the ball near the sideline. And yes, when Josh has to throw it 100mph in those conditions that's surely part of the reason those catches don't get made. If you decide to drive the green on a par 4 on a day with howling wind and rain and hit the greatest shot of your life but it bounces off a sprinkler head and goes into the water you don't sit there and blame the sprinkler head. You blame the bad decision to go for it in the first place.
-
How far are you willing to take this logic? Let's say the pass was tipped and bounced off seven different players before hitting Diggs in the arm as he was turning his head to locate the ball. Would it have been a drop then? Maybe it wasn't a great idea to throw a 60 yard bomb in howling wind in the first place.

This is fair. Blaming the loss on any one thing is misguided. Lots went into it. My counter would be that fumbles and drops tend to happen more in poor weather. Same with inaccurate passes. Bad game plans, play calling, and decision making shouldn't happen because of weather. Maybe it was because we went against the GOAT that it stood out more. It was the same thing in AFC Championship game last year. Our coaching staff had an uncharacteristically bad day.

If the play calling is better in Tampa we may stand a good chance.
-
That was such a hard catch though. The fact Josh threw a dime and our best pass catcher couldn't even find it due to the crazy movement probably tells us it shouldn't have been called in the first place.
-
Just because that deep ball hit Diggs in the arm doesn't mean it should've been caught. The fact that Josh threw it perfectly and our best pass catcher couldn't even locate it due to how far the wind moved it tells you it never should've been called in the first place. God forbid we incorporate a few easy throws over the middle in place of ineffective runs, throws to the sideline, and deep balls that look like hook shots around trees.

MYTH Busted: "The Defense couldn't stop the Run"
VW82 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
We've been gashed by the run in multiple games now. We had to stack 9 or 10 in the box just to hold them to 220 yards rushing which included a home run play. I don't think this myth has been busted. Having said that, our defense overall has been very good even though it's been boosted by a bunch of crappy offenses. This loss wasn't on the defense. -
McD helped build the best Bills team in 20 years. That fact alone makes this thread ridiculous. I did, however, cringe at his sour grapes quotes about BB getting too much credit. The fact is we lost this game in part due to coaching. We were conservative to a fault in the first half and maybe that's on Daboll more than McD but I didn't see BB hurting his team with coaching errors.

On the one hand, these were really tough conditions that totally favored the Pats. But also, I hate that this team makes me feel stupid for actually believing in them.

Why are we running vanilla run plays up the middle here?? -

It's too early to say we're going to miss the playoffs because of this game but we need to beat a lot of good teams just to get in if we lose this one. -

I know we're terrified of throwing over the middle but at some point we have to take our chances. We're not going to win running and throwing wide. -

We know they are running every play and still can't stop it. Edit: holding. nice
