Tre/Allen for Mahomes Outcome

I think it worked out for both teams Bears got the short end of the stick -
Watching the Holiday Bowl AJ Epenesa

He's intriguing Unless he posts bad numbers in the combine he's a top 15 pick maybe higher -
They for sure became more risk adverse in play selection after the NE game. I don't think there was ever a chance we were going to run a open up offense. First off McDermott has a good defense he believes in and second we dont have the personnel right now. John Brown and Cole Beasley arent going to keep D coordinators too worried. No reliable third wr on top of it and to make matters worse the passing game features wrs heavily.

Tre/Allen for Mahomes Outcome

I think I'd take Allen running the Chiefs current offense over Mahomes running the current Bills offense and no contest on the 2018 versions You have to take into account what is around the qb -
Josh Allen leading the way on 3rd and 10+
DuckyBoys replied to Sammy Watkins' Rib's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think its a great stat as far as Josh Allen goes. Means he's gunning for the sticks instead of taking the checkdown completion Hopefully next year he'll have less attempts at 3rd and 10+ because we'll be better at staying ahead of the schedule for a 1st down -
anybody gets a pick it should be the Raiders

Other than being athletic but raw qbs I see the two as totally different qbs Or at least how the Bears and Bills handled them. Bears went with generate offense with easy scheme for the qb approach The Bills have asked Josh Allen to be more of a prototypical down the field thrower They didnt/dont go into games with a script of plays with easy pitch catch for the qb. Trubisky rarely threw between the hashes and most of the routes were/are along the line of scrimmage with the occasional downfield sideline throws. Defenses caught up with what the Bears are doing. I dont see a drop off next year I bet we see more progress especially if they improve the personel

Great video analysis of Josh v. The Ravens

They restocked the pantry with tuna and beans Next year we go get steak and lobster There is a reason we have all that cap space -
Their conservative approach is probably the reason for the 10-5 record but might also be holding him back. Feels like they put Josh into a lot of 3rd and long situations and 4th quarter pressure cookers with the approach they take. Anytime we did have early success we go into some strange prevent mode offense Its really weird trying to figure this teams identity on offense sometimes I guess if nothing else they have coached the crazy turnovers out of him

Ford got wrecked those last two snaps in the NE game Morse to be has been somewhat disappointing although I should be used to watching the Bills center routinely get blasted back into the QB
-
OL last year was bottom 3 This year maybe in the 20's Progress but they can certainly get better I hope to see Ford at guard in 2020 and some more upgrades.
-
Biggest reason for the loss to NE was the OL and DL They had 2nd and manageable all game and Brady had loads of time Allen had 2 and 10 and was constantly pressured Honestly that game resembled many of the Pats blowouts in every stat but the final score We simply could not stop the run or the screen pass

Where were you during "wide right"?
DuckyBoys replied to class_of_2012's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watching it with a few buddies all of whom were rooting against the Bills (disgruntled 49er and Dolphin fans) Needless to say I didnt get much sympathy It didn;t seem that big of a deal to lose that one but each year after that got tougher and tougher to take Who was to know the cluster bomb that the next 20+ years would bring -
On the endzone pass I think Allen expected Knox to go to the pylon to create more depth space to fit that throw in Easier throw to the pylon with how deep the second defender was (not the guy trailing Knox) Some media made it seem like its a easy completion but looking at the pics it was a bit tougher throw . Would love for the Bills offense to be more efficient on early downs and set up more manageable downs for Allen. I do have one interesting thought The media seems to be on the Allen is holding the Bills back but almost unanimously they had the Bills as a 5 or 6 win bottom dweller this year. Hmmm sounds a bit hypocritical

Saying Allen regressed seems harsh I didn't see any evidence of that. He didn't turn it over and for the most looked like he knew where to go with the ball .He did miss some easy looks Not sure if it was more nerves of bad footwork from feeling the pressure. Whole offense could have played better starting with the O line which did him no favors. I think if we had been able to run the football it wold have been a different outcome If we had slowed down the Pats run game I dont think Tom has the same success without play action

dont think anyone can argue that Browns offense is less than the sum of its parts Bills is much greater than the sum of its parts
-
the completion % is relative to the scheme of the offense We don't funnel throws to TE's and RB's Their is a reason Derek carr is at 70% He doesn't throw to wrs
