I’ve just read an excellent book about Barcelona soccer club and it this it mentions away travel and how sleeping one night in an unfamiliar place really mashes the brain and therefore induces a lack of sleep. Sleep is so important to everyone but an athlete not getting the right sleep must impact their performance.

Yeah, I usually do something similar (UK being one hour in behind mainland Europe). So sleep at 10pm for 3 hours before then awake for 1:15am kick off. Last night was a 12:15am kick off so the one less hour came into it. I just stayed awake until kick off. Tuesday morning is an early start (6am). At least it’s the last one for a while. I think the next few are 6pm kick offs and even a 9:25pm for the Chiefs game.
