  1. Observation - I appreciate all of the comparisons of Josh to the best of the best. I consider that a very good thing. That's the kind of team I think McD and Beane want to build.
  2. The point is valid, though, either way right? Game plan for the Raven's offense is to always play like they're behind. McD's game plan couldn't be further from this strategy than it is.
  3. Let's try this explanation for you. Think about buying a QB similar to buying a stock or other security. The theory is to buy low and sell high. An investor wants the greatest return on their investment. What you're wanting to do here is to buy a QB at their high and sell a QB that most all of the experts say is a QB with a high ceiling, or in other words has a significant opportunity for a better ROI than the QB already at or close to the high. Your question, would you trade straight across, is a silly hypothetical to begin with. That's not how this would work. The Bills would have to pay for the higher QB at that higher value, and therefore give up the potential ROI. Business men and women do not do that. The Pegulas and Beanes are making what they consider to be the best ROI for the organization. Additionally, you can't consider one player, in your case the QB, without looking at the other assets around that one player. You have to consider the synergy created by when you surround good players with other good players (you know, the 2+2=5 dynamic). The Bills put one guy on the pro bowl. The Ravens put 12. I think this considerations discounts your argument most significantly. Just a few thoughts for you to consider.
  4. So Allen makes the list of alternates. Hmmm. Six on the list and six alternates. Other's believe Allen is top 20. Or hell, top 12.
  5. I'm not sure you understand that the offense is as the coaching staff have crafted it. There was a reason that the offense has 9 new starters this year. The offense isn't Allen. The offense is McD and Daboll. Last year's offense was horrible. This year's offense is much improved. This year's offense needs to continue to grow and improve. Patience grasshopper!
  6. We all have belly buttons and you have the right to yours.
  7. I've heard him say he's got to improve so to slow the game down for him.
  8. Josh started his career having to climb out of a hole, a hole that is very tough and takes a long time to clime out of, proving his doubters wrong. The kid is further along than I could have imagined. His stock is going up, not down. Not everyone is willing to "buy" yet. Increasing numbers are. The doubters might still end up being right, but they are the minority now. Hopefully Josh keeps improving. I trust he will.
  9. If you lined up all of the starting QBs on the playground and did a pick 'em, I think Josh wold go before 20th.
  10. I was comparing their athleticism to mine. Sorry Really, they are all professional athletes. One throws better, one runs better, one is stronger, one is faster. Some of these discussions get kinda wonky at times.
  11. His 4th quarter drives to win games is pretty damn hard to beat.
  12. Basically, you have to take what any given team is giving you.
  13. This was true last year. The offense has improved this year.
  14. In the Ravens game there was a screen that Singletary advertised the whole way which didn't go anywhere. This is something these young uns will need to learn and develop better.
  15. I saw a tweat, I think from Field Yates, that said the Bills won 10 games for the first time since '99, snapping the NFL's longest streak without double digit wins. I wonder who holds that record now?
  16. Someone should invite the guy to their tailgate in two weeks. Welcome a long time supporter back to the fold.
  17. Gosh, I would hope not. You're probably right!
  18. Agree. The obvious question is would McD and Daboll shut the offense down with 8 minutes left in a game vs. Watson or Mahomes? It's not just Mahomes. It's everyone, everywhere, all the time. Many a PI is a result of throws like this. It's part of the gameplan.
  19. Boy, wouldn't that be a nice way to put a bow on this season. Couldn't think of a better way to pass the AFC East torch to the new leader.
  20. This is the problem with these "grade Allen" threads. We don't know the game plan, we don't know Daboll's calls, we don't know Josh's audibles, we don't know whether the receivers ran the right routes, we don't know if the line executed their protections, we don't know whether Josh picked up the right takeout for dinner on his way home from the game. People are grading him based on their perceptions or biased lens of their expectations. This is akin to scoring Josh on a math test when he was taking a chemistry test. The coaching staff are the ones that wrote the test and the only ones qualified to grade. Sure, we have the "eye test" and that is what makes a thread like this fun, at times. But man, we all need to maintain a better perspective of responsibilities and accountabilities. Trust your receivers...and smurfs
  21. As I watched our defensive backs jump into the air, put both hands on the ball, control it and bring it down for an interception I thought, why can't Beas do that? Anyone else? So because our WR does EXACTLY what they are suppose to do; does EXACTLY what they are being paid millions to do? Really?
