Our thoughts on Jim Kelly when he fled for the USFL
holla83 replied to Bing Bong's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A couple of people have mentioned Tom Cousineu. I knew he went to the CFL rather than playing for the Bills. However, I only discovered recently that when the Bills finally traded him to the Browns, the draft pick they got in return is the one they used to draft Jim Kelly. People had to feel like "here we go again" when Kelly went to the USFL... A couple people also asked about what pieces were in place when Kelly was drafted and when he signed. Even though everyone was upset with him for jilting the Bills, it really worked out for the best and was meant to be. Had Jim Kelly signed with the Bills in 1983, they probably wouldn't have been bad enough in 84 to get the number one pick in the 85 draft. They selected Bruce Smith! -
Having Edmunds, Milano, and Barr as the starting LB crew would be pretty scary. Alexander could be moved around and used as a situational pass rusher

I thought of that phantom PI call when he didn't get flagged today. Here it is... -
Ex-Bill, CFL stud WR Naaman Roosevelt's just asking...

TO, Roosevelt, and Zay Jones... why not? -
I was there too. In addition to the barn burner of a game that it was, I also remember the Bills committing a crazy amount of false start penalties.

I love this! My mom has had cancer 3 times. We live in the Elmira area but she's had surgery, treatments, and check ups at Roswell! -

Inspirational story from Super bowl years becoming a movie

My only clear memory of this guy was as a Ram. On opening day in 1992 he fielded a punt and was buried by Steve Tasker. My dad and I were at the game. It's a clip they show in nearly every Tasker highlight package. https://youtu.be/0GHtAWiH9BQ -
Is your Dad the reason you’re a Bills fan?
holla83 replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My parents grew up in Warsaw, less than an hour from Buffalo. Also where i was born. Their divorce was final in 1988. My sister and I would go to visit my dad on weekends. On Sundays NASCAR and/or Buffalo Bills football were on tv at my dad's house. I had taken an interest in NASCAR prior to my parents splitting up but not football. For some reason, something clicked during that 1988 season and I started watching Bills games with my dad. That was the beginning of an obsession for me. My dad took me to my first game in 1991. He took me to my first 4 or 5 games. For the last 18 years or so, I've been taking my dad to games as his birthday present. -

Which Bills Moments Legitimately Made You Cry?
holla83 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I keep thinking of other things after reading different posts. I was at the home opener against Miami after the Pegulas bought the team. The ovation that Jim Kelly got during the ceremony to honor Ralph was unreal. I don't think I've ever heard the stadium that loud for a sustained period of time. I had chills! -

I forgot to mention that one in my own post. I threw a desk calendar across my bedroom that day. -
Which Bills Moments Legitimately Made You Cry?
holla83 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't say I've I cried but I've definitely teared up. 2011- 21 point comeback against the Patriots. Connor Gorman's Buffalo Bills "Rise and Fight Again" video on YouTube. Especially the end where it says "Thank you Ralph". Seeing Kyle Williams celebrate with his kids in the locker room when the Bengals scored. My sister cried towards the end of Super Bowl 27 because she was dreading going to school the next day. I broke my vacuum cleaner when Stevie Johnson and Scott Chandler fumbled the game away against Atlanta in 2013. -
I was going to mention him. His weight loss was probably just as fast as Wood's. Mark Schlereth is another one

Rob Johnson is still bitter after 20 years
holla83 replied to Sky Diver's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They leave out the fact that Johnson started 11 games in 2000 and was the unquestioned starter going into 2001. He got hurt both years, didn't play well, and was sacked a total of 80 times in those 2 years. 80 times in 19 starts!! Alex Van Pelt even outplayed him 2001. -
New Era Field has been home to concerts by the Rolling Stones, One Direction, Guns n Roses, and U2 over the last couple years. And Jay Z and Beyonce will be there this summer. So the last part of your statement is absolutely inaccurate
