  1. I had a similar thought and mentioned it above... Great minds!... I also started watching in 1988. ?
  2. Did Stevie know he was going to have to back out and offered the spot to Pancho to make himself look good?
  3. Does anybody know how or why he became a Bills fan? He is from Texas, right? Always curious how out of towners become Bills fans.
  4. I bought my house going on 2 years ago. It's a small 3 bedroom ranch. However, one of the big selling points was the finished basement. My plan was/still is to turn one room into a theater room and another into a game room/man cave. The centerpiece being my autographed Thurman Thomas jersey. I also hung up plaques of Thurman Thomas, Jim Kelly, and Mike Piazza, a framed Rat Pack poster, and an autographed picture of Natalie Gulbis. I also bought a pool table and an electronic dart board. Unfortunately, my basement flooded last summer. Major setback on those plans.
  5. I don't think I've ever called into WGR. But back in the early 2000s, when WNSA was still around, I called their shows a few times. I don't think I ever even listened to WGR when WNSA was on the air. It was a sad day when that station was shut down. I also called into the Bills pre game show and got on the air. It was at the end of the season before they drafted EJ Manuel. They were discussing what the Bills should do at QB and I called in and have my 2 cents. I'm not sure who was carrying the games at that point but it was before WGR got them back.
  6. A couple of people have mentioned Tom Cousineu. I knew he went to the CFL rather than playing for the Bills. However, I only discovered recently that when the Bills finally traded him to the Browns, the draft pick they got in return is the one they used to draft Jim Kelly. People had to feel like "here we go again" when Kelly went to the USFL... A couple people also asked about what pieces were in place when Kelly was drafted and when he signed. Even though everyone was upset with him for jilting the Bills, it really worked out for the best and was meant to be. Had Jim Kelly signed with the Bills in 1983, they probably wouldn't have been bad enough in 84 to get the number one pick in the 85 draft. They selected Bruce Smith!
  7. Having Edmunds, Milano, and Barr as the starting LB crew would be pretty scary. Alexander could be moved around and used as a situational pass rusher
  8. I thought of that phantom PI call when he didn't get flagged today. Here it is...
  9. I was there too. In addition to the barn burner of a game that it was, I also remember the Bills committing a crazy amount of false start penalties.
  10. He definitely had charges brought up against him and was banned from the stadium. I could be wrong but I think the guy may have lost his job as a result too.
  11. Not sure but like most drunken bafoons, I think he walked away unscathed while injuring others.
  12. Obviously I forgot. Ever happen to you? Sorry I don't have the schedule from every year memorized. I actually have a life. I stand corrected
  13. It's been 6 years since they last hosted a prime time game because someone drowned at the last one.
  14. I love this! My mom has had cancer 3 times. We live in the Elmira area but she's had surgery, treatments, and check ups at Roswell!
  15. Video of the confrontation. Newton looks like he wants to get punched in the face... http://dailysnark.com/cam-newton-confronts-kelvin-benjamin-over-comments-prior-to-panthers-bills-preseason-game/
  16. My only clear memory of this guy was as a Ram. On opening day in 1992 he fielded a punt and was buried by Steve Tasker. My dad and I were at the game. It's a clip they show in nearly every Tasker highlight package. https://youtu.be/0GHtAWiH9BQ
  17. My parents grew up in Warsaw, less than an hour from Buffalo. Also where i was born. Their divorce was final in 1988. My sister and I would go to visit my dad on weekends. On Sundays NASCAR and/or Buffalo Bills football were on tv at my dad's house. I had taken an interest in NASCAR prior to my parents splitting up but not football. For some reason, something clicked during that 1988 season and I started watching Bills games with my dad. That was the beginning of an obsession for me. My dad took me to my first game in 1991. He took me to my first 4 or 5 games. For the last 18 years or so, I've been taking my dad to games as his birthday present.
  18. The NFL I would imagine. If you lookup the Bills all time roster, Matt Leinart is not on it. Neither is Vince Young for that matter.
  19. A player isn't considered an "official" member of the team if he wasn't on the regular season roster. Leinart was cut before the season started.
  20. http://celebrityinsider.org/matt-leinart-from-the-buffalo-bills-marries-actress-josie-loren-151910/ Did someone get paid to write this? I left a comment saying he was on the team 5 years ago in pre season but was never officially a Bill. Can't find the comment anywhere though
