  1. How many 1st round 'franchise' QBs have *not * made it to the conference finals over the past 10 years? 19 out of 20?
  2. If you really watch him play, if his first receiver choice is covered, he runs. I'm very doubtful he can deal with Pro D schemes. The Bills would be nuts to take him 3rd when the D really, really sucks and the O appears serviceable.
  3. Umm..errr.... NOT. He can't complete games
  4. While we may draft a QB, one should lower expections about them being a franchiser...
  5. Determing the success of a pick after one season is rediculous. Talk to me after year 3.
  6. Oh, come on. He's not e en close to Vick and may be worse than Russell since he is a quiter...
  7. Mallet just can't complete important games. He is weak under pressure and has limited scrambling skills. He is a 3rd+ rounder in my opinion
  8. Changing the coaching staff every year could also be his undoing. The issue was not with the coaching, but talent and execution.
  9. Q#10 Will he get a case of the yips after the first head shot?
  10. Here we go again with the QB 1st round talk. Behind this O line with no supporting defense a 1st round QB will be a bust. Period.
  11. The best offense is a good defense
  12. I'm so happy to read a thread that is realistic. A high pick QB is not the answer to making this club better. Beefing up the lines on both sides of the ball is.
  13. As soon as they traded spiller, jackson would go down with an injury and everyone on this board would complain about how stupid nix was for trading him. So, to save bandwidth, no, they shouldn't trade them
  14. And Auburn has played louisianna- Monroe and Chattanooga. They all play a couple cake teams and is impossible to predict when teams like Purdue or Minn will have off years. The problem is that when teams are slotted high in the initial polls they never drop, no matter what the schedules. If Boise and TCU were slotted 15ish, they certainly would not be in the polls where they are now. One solution is to not have any pre-season polls and have the first one at week 5 so the order is based on what happens on the field rather than what is anticipated to happen.
  15. It's not fair to compare a full season last year with 9 games this year. What were their totals after 9 games last year?
  16. The play of the qb position had nothing to do with this loss. Allowing 250+ rushing did.
  17. I would trade a top 5 pick in a heartbeat. They are unproven talent that want way too much money
  18. The system doesn't make the players forget how to tackle. The issue is execution on the field
  19. It's amazing the talented scouts we have on this board. Can't believe some you aren't actually employed by the NFL with your ability to judge talent in absence of even one regular season start. Simply amazing.
  20. Talking about Leaf/Manning now is like talking about Dewey/Truman. Yawn
  21. As I recall, Barry Sanders often started games with negative yardage as well...
  22. I never read preseason team reports. No one can predict how a team will do until they hit the field.
  23. Doug Flutie's first name was Doug Doug Flutie had a dog named Dog Doug Flutie' dog was named Dog Flutie Doug Flutie could run Dog Flutie could also run Doug Flutie and Dog Flutie would run together The end
  24. They parked you in rows of 10 at the pre-renovated Soldier Field surface lots, unlike the normal rows of two. So, you would be stuck in the middle of a pack of cars and had to wait for up to four cars to leave before you could pull out. Or you had to do weird repositioning to work your way through a maze to get out. At one game, we were stuck in the lot for two hours, stuck behind a group of post game tailgaters that refused to let us out, just ignoring our request. We were parked in from the other side by a guy tending to his girlfriend puking her guts out, and also refused to move his car.
