Mularkey realizes Henry scored..
Buckeye Eric replied to Dan III's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree that is was a TD. I replayed it on TIVO a bunch of times. His progress was stopped and the play stopped before he reached over the line. The linesman were already running down the line when he reached the ball forward, a signal that the whistle was blown. -
I predict that the moment that we would get rid of Travis in a trade McGahee will get dinged up. The team would need to go with a third stringer with this board will light up in condeming TD for making such a bonehead trade. The draft is a complete crapshoot. How many on this board wanted McKinnie? How many wanted Kenyatta Jones or Walker? Getting rid of a known quantity for a roll of the dice just does not make sense.

It's nice to see someone has his head...
Buckeye Eric replied to ICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, someone asked for positives and I provided some. I am sure I could come up with more, but why bother what all I will get is trash talk? Sadly, even if the team was 2-0 (punched it through on the 1 yesterday and knocked the ball in the end zone vs. the Jags) the discussion threads today would have been exactly the same. -

Thank you ICE. Someone needs to put this into perspective... Someone ask for positives? Here a a few: Lindell did not miss a kick Henry did not fumble Bledsoe did not fumble The fake punt was great There were two great runbacks (although penalties killed them) -
I think this stat is practically worthless. The Patriots have had only four starters drafted after the 2nd round since 1997. (not including 2004) 4 of 45 = 8%. Not as great as one would assume. Oh, last years SB runnerups? Those drafted under curent regime? 3/27= 10% (Rickey Manning, Colin Branch, Will Witherspoon) While certainly better than the Bills 4%, not as great an impact as suspected. Teams are built via free agency, not the draft... Patriots Info: 2003 7 picks after 2nd round Starters: 1 (OL Koppen) 2002: 4 picks after 2nd round Starters: 1 (WR David Givens) 2001: 8 picks after 2nd round Starters: 0 2000: 8 picks after 2nd round Starters: 2 (QB Tom Brady; FB Pass) 1999: 5 picks after 2nd round Starters: 0 1998: 6 picks after 2nd round Starters: 0 1997: 7 pickers after 2nd round Starters: 0

Why is Fletcher returning kickoffs??
Buckeye Eric replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is not as uncommon for ST to be littered with starters as one would think. -
Um, if my memory serves me, Ricky had a chronic problem with fumblitis, or is it he keeps fumbling his chronic? Can't keep those two straight, or, is it, is it MY memory? Say, are you staring at me? You know I'm high, don't you?

I fail to see the logic in how letting go of the GM can help this team at this point in time. By even thinking that the GM must go you are saying you are willing to let this team struggle for 2-3 years without any idea if a new GM/coaching staff will fair any better. The shortsightedness of this board amazes me. Then again, it really doesn't.

With the former their chances of winning in the future are greatly diminished. With the later their chances of winning in the future pretty much remain the same as going into game 1. hmmmmmmmm, indeed.

this message board's new whipping boy
Buckeye Eric replied to Typical TBD Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You know, I wouldn't doubt it. I bet he is that guy "unregistered." -
Man, perhaps Brady's nickname should be The Flash. I had no idea he had that kind of speed. *****Sorry, did not get the sarcasm warning until after the post. A smilie would have helped ****

Promo, Seriously man, I think something is finally going wrong with your processors. I know it is getting difficult to find tubes or get them checked since Loblaws took the old testing machines out but time has finally come for you to have your tubes replaced with some solid state circuitry.

It is amazing how two people can see the same event so differently. There is a whole different thread on this board bemoaning the fact the team has no heart. This team certainly does not come across as having a Schleprock attitude.

Blaming the OL is the easy way out. They played a heck of a lot betting than some are giving them credit for. One missed 42 yard field goal and one red zone fumble lost. THAT is what cost the game. We should have had 10 more points.

Here is what I saw at RWS today.....
Buckeye Eric replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
2. Henry was on the sidelines with what appears to have been a pulled hamsting. They were strtching him out. It appears to have been nothing to do with performance. 7. Get use to it. I think the new scheme will focus on shorter plays. 9. During the game my brother leaned over and said, "we have a big decision to make. If Lindell missed the field goal, do we boo?" I think the one observation I heard will be indicative of this season: "the team will play well enough to realize their kicker is not good enough." -
Think You're Down ? Try Being There
Buckeye Eric replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I totally disagree. I think this is a team that in the words of Marv Levy, needs to learn how to win. They have had 3 years of having no confidence in their system and need to learn how to have confidence ina system again. The bottom line in this game was execution. One 42 yard field goal and no fumble by Moulds at the 4 and this board would have a 180% difference attitude today. So Moulds were not showing heart on that play? I thought he was showing great heart in trying to make it to the endzone and just couldn't hang on! This is one game folks, relax. How can anyone say nothing has changed when everything has changed? -
Things that annoyed me about the game
Buckeye Eric replied to nick in* england's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, if you overlook his 2 fumbles.... -
the most blame for this loss?
Buckeye Eric replied to Typical TBD Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Um, how about Moulds fumble at the 4 and a missed field goal? The play that lost the game occured way before Villarial's penalty.... -
Is Tom Brady the best QB in the NFL?
Buckeye Eric replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What remains to be seen is if he will be a "Kurt Warner" one of the best in the NFL (best for 3-4 years) or a Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, John Elway type (best for 10 years). -
MaGahee Currently 4th Best RB On Roster
Buckeye Eric replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, how fickle we fans are. WM has a roster spot, why should he be pounding himself needlessly. He was likley underachieving to save himself. Willams and Simonston have to make the team and show what they had and as a result were likely overachieving. -
PARKING INFO- TBD party 9-12-04
Buckeye Eric replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in TBD Annual Tailgate (TBDAHOT)'s Topics
I need 3. Sorry, since everyone is coming and leaving in different directions we can not car pool. -
There is still one more preseason game and they need a few OL scrubs to play the 4th quarter. They have one 3rd string G and T left (Esposito and McFarland)
