  1. XM predicts it will break even by mid 2005. XM's cost of doing business is also coming down -- quickly. In 2004's second quarter, it cost the XM $101 to acquire each new subscriber, down from $160 in the same period a year ago. Subscriber-acquisition costs also remain relatively high at Sirius -- $234 in the second quarter, more than double XM's. They are spending great deal of money attracting subscribers in a game of catch up. Alas, DirecTV is to the Dish Network is as XM is to Sirius.
  2. Throwing for 400 yards would not have changed the outcome.
  3. On a related topic, Canadian Satellite Radio (CSR) and General Motors of Canada Limited (GMCL) have entered into a 13-year distribution agreement. GM of Canada will factory-install CSR receivers in more than 50 vehicle models beginning in the 2006 model year. "Based on the strong market response to XM Satellite Radio (XM) in the United States, GMCL looks forward to the Canadian partnership with CSR. Canadian Satellite Radio was formed to provide subscription-based satellite radio service to Canadians in both English and French. Canadian Satellite Radio is a Canadian-owned and controlled company in partnership with XM Satellite Radio of the United States. http://www.northpeel.com/br/wheels/story/2...p-2706675c.html
  4. Modern-Era Semi-Finalists for the Class of 2005 Sorry if this is embedded in another thread.
  5. Even if the vehicle has a Jerico tranmission it would not move forward if the engine is running with a couple cylinders down. Therefore, replacing the transmission does not solve the problem. Pulling the pistons and replacing the rings would seem to the real solution.
  6. OK. Reality check. Marv is not getting any younger. Even the other geniuses Parcells and Gibbs are having problems. To think that Marv can turn this team and provide 5+ years of service is pure fiction.
  7. Alas....the first reasonable thread on this topic....so far... (disregarding the DeeRay post)
  8. While I would love to see what he has, Losman has had limited practice and is simply not ready to start. IMO starting JP would be reckless. If he were to get reinjured MM would be blasted for starting him too soon. If the season is "done" why rush him out and risk injury and potentially the future?
  9. There is nothing legaly wrong with what Pat Murray did. He did not copy the text so he is not involation of any intellectual property laws. Ideas or concepts are not protected by copyright, so the Bledsoe/Holyfield comparsion as a concept is not protected.
  10. There is another reason for starting Bledsoe. JP has not played since training camp and has had very limited practice. On Sunday he had 2 TO in 4 plays. He just is not ready. Starting Matthews accomplishes nothing. Starting Bledsoe is the wise thing to do for at least the next couple games. If the team plays badly you put in JP in the 4th or on certain downs to provide a spark or otherwise confuse the defense.
  11. Congrats. It looks like her little fingers are already itching to get to a keyboard...
  12. HDTV signals are highly directional. I had VERY disappointing results with indoor antennas. The best strategy is, however, to buy the cheapest antenna a see if it works. Just keep buying and returning until you find one that works for you.
  13. How about a new category: #5 Sarcastic Sillies The Sarcastic Silly reads posts and either responds to the initial post or picks on a particular community member in some sarcastic or silly manner. Some times the sarcasim is painfully true yet at other times it is just playfully silly. The SS is often a former TFF who gets so tired of the responses from the NNs that they resort to humor and sarcasim to get them through the day. The SS makes up less than 2% of the posters.
  14. I agree. Except on those few special players that come around every few years, 1st round OL are generally not a good value. There may be a better value to the team in having 2 second rounders than one 1st rounder.
  15. Can you say Bob Chandler? Both it and the TD catch were fantastic.
  16. All you need to do is fly in a 10 seater where you can read all the instrumentation from your seat to put it in perspective. Regional Jets are fine, as long as you are under 6'. They are not known for their legroom.
  17. Don't forget stopping those dink and doink passes. For some reason we have been extremely vulnerable to them.
  18. .....assuming that DBs league-wide begin falling down....
  19. That's the fact, Jack! All the end of the half issues are moot with the W.
  20. Those decisions are moot with a W.
  21. I feel your pain. Unfortunately in the world of radio it is all about latest book. Unless we are in market that can affect their rate card they can care less about us. On related note, I just dropped the DirectTV sports packs due to the demise of the SimonCast. At one point there was the Sports Report, FanTV, and the post game report ; all which made the $11 worth while. Not anymore...
  22. I think ticket sales are light for the many of the late fall games. I have ordered through group sales in the past and have received a call and an email indicating availability.
  23. I had an email conversation with the GM a couple months back and there were no streaming plans since they do not see the financial benefits. HOWARD!!! PLEASE!!! CONVINCE THEM TO STREAM!!
