  1. I don’t expect this year to be great record wise, but I am going to enjoy the first stress free season in over a decade. The drought wore me down and now we can focus on the long term build without the thought of “I hope the drought doesn’t reach 20 years.”
  2. I used to love rap when I was a teenager in the 90s. Three Six, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Do or Die. Loved them. I must have gotten old because I can’t stand to listen to that garbage now. Hoe this, whore that. Making up words to make them rhyme. Hip hop is dead to me now. I’ll still listen to 90s rap or Christian rap, but nothing current and secular (I don’t judge people who do either!).
  3. Of all the discussion that could be had about a potential fill in for Shady, why do you pick the one that can’t even be taken seriously?
  4. That’s exactly how I feel. Nobody can tell me it doesn’t at least look bad. But looking bad and turning out to be bad are two different things.
  5. I just saw Pac-Man Jones was just attacked at the Atlanta airport. I wonder if he had any of Shadys jewelry that he didn’t want to give back?
  6. Big Mac Checkers Fries Chick Fil A Nuggets Sonic Shake WaWa coffee Although a blizzard from DQ could be the answer for dessert. But Sonic shakes are amazing. The funny thing about making this list is I completely skip over my go to for fast food which is Taco Bell. Thankfully, for my health, I barely eat any of this.
  7. I didn’t read every page so if this one was said, I apologize. If it hasn’t been said, I’m shocked it took this long. Anyways, the cliche that drives me up the wall and every single announcer says it all season, all off-season, every year. ”That’s the Patriot Way.” That sentence drives me up the wall. The Patriot Way is to have the best qb ever leading your team. Period. There’s no special formula, or roster building technique that no other team can figure out. It’s having a generational qb, who can cover the other holes on the roster. I really believe it’s that simple, but commentators push the whole idea that the patriots do things so differently and every team is trying to figure out how to be like them.
  8. Let’s be real for a moment. Our WR depth chart does not look good. You know that as much as I do. Does that mean they can’t be good, or won’t be good? Of course not. I never said they can’t be good. Of course they can. There was a point Stevie Johnson was a 7th round pick and had 2 career TDs. Then, in 2010, he gets 10 TDS and 1000 yards. I assume prior to the 2010, people were concerned with the WR depth chart, and rightfully so. That’s where I’m at this year. It doesn’t “look” good. But it’s the NFL, games need to get played, and we could all be in for a big surprise. But don’t criticize people for thinking it “looks” like a position of need. Every football “expert” feels the exact same way, so it’s not like I’m making wild assumptions. But I admit it’s simply an assumption that the WR depth chart does not look threatening at this time.
  9. I know in another thread I mentioned that I kind of viewed this season as a throw away year anyways, with the qb situation and wr depth chart. Making the playoffs last year helps me to not even be upset about that. So I pretty much felt that 8 wins was the max, and 4 was the floor. So if Shady is gone, suspended, or healthy all 16 games, I don’t think it matters from a playoffs or no playoffs perspective. Will it effect the number of wins? Probably. But to me, if it decreases the win total by 2, that’s going from 7 to 5 wins, or 8 to 6 wins. So it does not impact a playoff push at all in my mind, regardless of the outcome. Ending the drought, to me, makes this all a little easier to handle from a Bills perspective. If there was a year that we have to move on from our best player, this would be it. We probably wouldn’t be a playoff team anyways. This would have been more devastating last year, when we all (at this time in the off-season prior to Watkins and Darby trades) at least thought there was a chance of playoffs. This year, I’m not even stressing the thought of losing Shady for the year, or for good. PS: Everything I just wrote is from a purely football perspective focused on wins and losses. In no way am I suggesting that wins and losses are more important than domestic violence. Just simply making the point that from a Bills fan perspective, losing your best player would make the upcoming season much more difficult to accept if the drought still existed.
  10. So far, I don’t really care for the new app. I am having an issue where when I start listening to a segment on demand, but then get out of my car, it doesn’t keep my spot. I listen in my car on my way to work, or driving around at work, but then use headphones when I get out of the car. Basically, I listen continuously throughout the day. But I have to start the podcast over and try to find my place where I left off. With the old app, that would only happen if I left the app for hours and came back. This new app resets to the beginning as soon as I switch from one device to another (car to headphones). I’ll survive because I’m not lazy, but it is annoying since I’m not used to having to do that.
  11. Thanks. I don’t know why but I didn’t even think to go to their website. I appreciate that.
  12. I’m thinking I will. It’s only an hour drive, and my brother lives in Richmond so it’s not like I’m driving an hour for a 10 minute thing. I just want to find a way to confirm. It’s tough nowadays without social media. Not sure where my cousin heard this. Maybe on the radio or something.
  13. This is probably a little higher than most would rate, but it’s nice to see something that’s not doom and gloom at this point. To be honest, I think this roster is pretty bad on offense, but believe the defense can keep us in games for sure. However, I’m not even upset about it. Ending the drought last year helps me view this year as a throw away year, which I’m ok with. If we go 5-11, I won’t like it, but I’ll be in a much better mood about it than I would have been if the drought was still adding up.
  14. Valid point. I’ll probably end up going. It’s not too often anything Bills related happens around here.
  15. My cousin just informed me that Bruce Smith will be at the opening of a new Dick’s Sporting Goods in Willow Lawn in Richmond on July 15th. A couple things here. 1. I don’t do Twitter or anything like that, and I live about 40 miles north, so I have no way to confirm this, so if it’s not true, please feel free to delete this post and excuse my old fashioned lack of social media use that provides everyone with info! 2. Just wanted to put this out there so that if true, any fellow Bills fans from Virginia will know so they can have the opportunity to check it out and meet him. I can’t decide if I’ll be going or not. I’m not the type to go following superstars around and ask for autographs, and my kids are a little too young to care. It is my birthday though so that would be a cool experience.
  16. You are correct to an extent. What this means is that whatever game is on your local CBS feed, that’s the game available. I live in Virginia, so there are occasionally times that the Bills are the local game (NE matchups, Baltimore likely week 1 this season). For me, I would get those games. The other 14 weeks? I’d get the national game and Baltimore games. So for people in and around buffalo, an antenna works. For people outside buffalo, we would only get the game if it was on the local CBS feed. Basically, I still need Sunday Ticket.
  17. I was pretty upset that we drafted Allen over Rosen, but for some reason (because he is a Bill), I like him more now. I thought for sure Trent was a future franchise qb, and when people knocked his arm strength, I would point to the one long throw to Evans against Miami in a snowy game in Buffalo. I think Trent had 4 TDS that game despite throwing less than 50% and 160 yards or so. I also thought TO would be a great weapon for Trent and both would have great seasons. I thought Losman was the next Favre. Strong arm, gun slinger mentality. I thought once healed, McGahee would be great. He had a decent 2004 season. Don’t remember much of 2005 or 2006 season though. Basically, I was wrong. I thought Fred Jackson took too many carries from Spiller. Yeah, I may get flamed for that one. I thought the NE game in 2011 meant we were playoff bound because a bad team couldn’t beat NE. I ignored the 4 INTs and still barely winning as a sign that it was an anomaly. I also thougt brady wouldn’t be the same after his injury. He probably got even better. I thought Watkins would be our Julio Jones type receiver (who I hear we may get according to the other thread). Who would’ve thought he be on 3 teams in 5 seasons. I thought Mark Anderson would get 10+ sacks opposite Mario. I also thought Merriman would resurrect his career here. I thought Ko Simpson and Whitner would give us the best safety tandem in the league for many years to come. Shall I go on? Basically, I apparently know nothing about football, would suck as a talent evaluator, and nobody should ever take my opinion to mean anything other than the opposite.
  18. Did you just say blue jersey and white pants, then show a picture showing they are blue jerseys and grey pants? I assume this is sarcasm? If so, let’s add that they also put in a HOF #12 qb. Why can’t they be original?
  19. Streaming Directv Sunday Ticket is great and I’ve been doing it for years now too with the student package. The only thing I will say is it works best on Apple TV. I used Chromecast the first season and it was decent. With Apple TV, you’d never know it was an internet stream. It’s perfect HD, never buffers, and the ST app is easy to use. If this is an option for you, do not worry one bit (unless you don’t have quality internet connections), and go ahead and sign up in August when it becomes available.
  20. The only way I would consider this to be more than an obvious statement is if he is suggesting that they are counting on them big this year. That of course is more about Allen than Edmunds.
  21. From what I’ve read, the Richmond location was terrible. My brother lives near Short Pump, so I was thinking of going down and swinging by anchor bar since I’d be close. Oh well.
  22. I live in Virginia about an hour north of Richmond, and by the time I found out there was an Anchor Bar, I then found out it was closing. I missed that short window I guess. Disappointing too because I wanted to go to one in Buffalo back in 2013 (season opener against NE), the last time I was there, and the wait was 1.5 hours. So my wife and I left, and tried to find a Duffs (because I’ve heard of them). We walked in and went to the restroom, and there was a leak from the ceilings, so we left. Seemed kind of dirty.
  23. I’ll take a random guess and say they didn’t watch my wedding, so why should I return the favor? These people are just that, people. Who cares. Millions get married every year. Why should they be different? I’m not putting them on some sort of pedestal personally.
  24. I’m pretty sure that’s Coy Wire! Could also be Ted Washington I suppose.
  25. Pretty sure your original post said a 1 year deal, now it’s $6-7 million per year? I’m not holding my breath on this one.
