  1. Right, they shouldn't pay him anywhere near top QB money. I do believe he is above average, but he is too inconsistent. This year is kind of hard to say because he got hurt early in the 2nd game of the year and was obviously not the same as he was before. But only the guys in the building, and Baker himself, will truly know how much that hampered him. It is extremely odd to have the season he had last year with a brand new head coach, and then regress that bad in year 2 simply by chance. I think the injury was the major factor, but he is on essentially a 1 year prove it deal next season. Either way, Mary Kay isn't a good writer. There are have been more than once or twice that people have asked if she was serious after questions, and it's not just players and such. Maybe she isn't good in the way she words questions, but being a writer for this many years, she should have a handle on it by now.
  2. By then, if contracts are exploding like you say, odds are Allen will ask for a new contract. He isn't going to sit at $40M if average Joe's are getting $50M.
  3. Mary Kay Cabot is a quack. She writes articles for drama and clicks. She has decent content sometimes, but she then writes headlines for said article in order to create drama. I know clicks = money, but she isn't a great representative of a great and fair reporter. Hue Jackson went 1-31 before Mayfield. So he killed himself with his inflated ego. Kitchens is the fault of John Dorsey. Hired him WAY before he was ever ready.
  4. Cleveland isn't signing Mayfield to an extension this offseason, unless he signs a deal way under market value, which I doubt. He has had flashes of great play, but is erratic as well. He is an above average QB when healthy, but not a $40M a year guy. So there is a lot of variables here, with the injury and upcoming surgery being the biggest.
  5. If Cincinnati wins either of their last 2 games, it doesn't matter what Baltimore does.
  6. You also have a rookie kicker in his first game who was shaky at best. You can't play for a 45 yard field goal.
  7. If the ball is in the air, it's still illegal. And that was past 5 yards. That directly "ended" the game.
  8. Dude bear hugged him and then held. It's illegal contact at a minimum, but easily PI too.
  9. There's no way to prove that either way. We can also ignore that Rudolph hit him in the groin more than once before the helmet incident.
  10. Yes, he made 1 incredibly stupid mistake on the field. He got rightfully punished for it. Tens of thousands of fans make an even dumber mistake every Sunday driving home drunk. Are they all terrible people as well?
  11. What's the issue with Garrett? Minus his really stupid helmet incident, he is a model person and player. Just curious.
  12. I understand it's football, but what I'm saying that is what they can use when it comes to firing him with cause. He allegedly kicked an employee for not making kicks. It wasn't even in the "heat of the moment" or anything. He just did it while they were stretching. Also, from the contract language I am seen tossed around, the bar situation could be "with cause", the kicking situation, and possibly some of his other actions. While not illegal, they could fall under the "representing the team poorly, or engaging in unethical behavior" which is the way the contract is written. Again, it sounds like it'll be up to the Commissioner to decide.
  13. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/12/16/if-urban-meyer-was-fired-for-cause-a-fight-over-his-remaining-pay-could-be-looming/ I'm not. I'm on a phone or I would go to the exact language that shows and paste it direct.
  14. I think the Commissioner decides, because the NFL structure says that is what happens. It's what will happen. 100%. So it's highly unlikely he goes against the owners given the alleged evidence.
  15. Seeing as how the Commissioner decides, and Meyer was caught doing several unethical things, including allegedly assaulting an employee, I bet you're wrong.
  16. The Browns/Raiders is Monday at 5pm, not Tuesday. So it's 2 days, not 4. Also, Cleveland plays again next Saturday, so they get an even shorter week. They play Monday, not Tuesday. Also. Cleveland plays again Saturday, so they get even less time.
  17. I am honestly curious how it is "unfair" What disadvantage do the Raiders get?
  18. I guess I'm saying it's weird to try to use that now given the fact that they knew about it months ago, so obviously it was not fireable then but somehow is now? I understand why they're going to try to use that but I do not understand how it's going to work given the fact that it's an old instance and they did nothing about it when it actually happened.
  19. I think it was $9 million/yr, but yes, they are trying to fire him with cause, I believe due to the Lambo story, which is weird given that Lambo reported in TC.
  20. I know that is just a hypothetical, but that is assuming they all restructure to base minimum salaries.
  21. The issue with doing the 15 yard penalty for DPI is that on almost every deep ball, especially at the end a half/game, is that the defender will just tackle the receiver and take the penalty. If you get beat, just interfere. I haver no issue with the calls being observed from a central location to review quick, it just makes it tough especially if teams are running hurry up.
  22. Then why watch at all?
  23. To compare, would Buffalo have trusted a rookie Allen to pass in last night's weather? Jones is a rookie, who doesn't have the arm Allen does. Not many do. So it would be stupid to force passes that they didn't need to. People always want to compare players in the now, when Allen has a 3 year head start in his system, and playing in the NFL. You can't directly compare the 2 players, especially in the crazy weather.
  24. It was weird. Once Michigan adjusted to that PA bootleg that worked some in the 1st half, their offense was toast. Ferentz is a great coach, and he overachieves at Iowa, but how can you literally have no other plan than that? Michigan has a decent chance in the playoffs, but they need more out of McNamara. He shows flashes, but he needs to have a Nick Foles type playoff switch to get them a championship. The defense and run game are there.
