  1. I blow it up now. Don't waste JAs time. The earlier the better. Do it now. Strategically blow it up. Rip the band aid off. Go all in on the offense. I admit I can't draft or identify FA DL to save my life. An offensive juggernaut is what I have to build. if McDermott and Frazier are untouchable, then they have to coach up the picks I made in the past. I dump every defensive contract I can and free up as much room as possible. My HC and DC are the most senior coaches on the team. They have to make it work or move on. FA I get one stud OL and a proven and productive WR (Brandin Cooks or Ju Ju type) In rounds 1 and 2 I get the best OL/ WR combo I can find Rounds 3-5 I get a S/LB/OL/S (since Edmunds, Poyer and Oliver are gone) S are garbage after round 4 and in UFA. So I would go S/S in 3 and 4. UFA All about RB/DT/CB try to find gold. Those are the 3 best positions found in UFA over the past 10 years
  2. Why are you arguing with me when I said WR/OL FA and WR/OL in rounds 1 and 2??? Seems to be my priority too. S is a clear need though. Impact S are not drafted after round 4. (look at the last 5 drafts) If a S is a 3rd-4th round pick they often need a season to catch up. Why not do that while Hyde is playing here to teach the way??? I don't understand your reply to me TBH.
  3. I have been banging on the drum for OL the past two years. Now it is WR and OL. Everyone knows it. FA OL, FA WR Rounds 1-2 WR and OL The simple truth is the only way this defense works is with a good DL (why all the capital goes there) and exceptional S play. Who are your 2 starting S in September if you do not draft one in rounds 3-4? (That is the latest I found impact S the past 5 drafts) Poyer is over 30, was injured all year (thanks for being a total stud) and expensive Hyde is coming off a SPINAL INJURY, also over 30 and in his last year of contract Hamlin had a Fuc%$ng heart attack Jaquan Johnson is a terrible S Marlowe was a rental Who is your starting S duo???? That may be an issue. I'd go WR 1, OL 2, S 3, S 4, OL 5 OL 5 UFA RB/ CB/LB
  4. I can't help it. This dude is arguing that 2nd team All Pro is not an honor. Sorry Coach. I'll go run some wind sprints.....
  5. Dude. You are in the embarrassing place of doubling down on stupid. Even by simple logic. 1/2 x 2 = 1. it's really that simple, and you can't seem to grasp it. Second team All Pro is an honor equal to or greater than the 'Pro Bowl'. I will show you why. Being named to the 'Pro Bowl' seems to be a thing for you. Most folks realize that with open voting the 'Pro Bowl' has become a joke ruled by 14 year olds who play Madden. The All-Pro teams are voted on by sports writers who cover all the teams. Believe it or not, not every 14 yr old, and not every coach, or player is watching every NFL game. The NFL writers are supposed to. So that may not be strong enough logic for you. 14 year olds who think 'the Raiders rule' get the same vote as NFL journalists do for the 'Pro Bowl' Maybe that is cool for you, but it is the action that leads to Josh Allen not being on the Pro Bowl team last year. I digress. That is the weak part of the argument. Let's look at this logically. The 1st team All-Pro is 11 guys on each side of the ball who are the best of their craft. That is it. One team of 11-12 players on offense One team of 11-12 players on defense, and a few ST players. There may be an exception to add a slot WR or Nickel CB @25 total players This team is decided by people who watch and write about the whole league. The Pro Bowl requires 2 teams to play each other. There are two teams required to play in the Pro Bowl. That almost seems like double the players are named to the Pro Bowl as the 1st team All Pro team!?!? That means double of each position to get into the pro Bowl. 1st team All-Pro QB = 1 QB 1st team Pro-Bowl QB = 2 QB, both teams need a QB, if a 1st team Pro Bowl QB is in the playoffs or is injured at the time a 3rd or 4th QB is named as decided by 14 year olds (alternates) 1st team All Pro team doesn't care about the playoffs or injuries, there are no alternates 1st team All-Pro LT = 1 LT, you are the best. 1st team Pro Bowl LT = 2 LT if the 1st team Pro Bowl LT is in the playoffs or is injured at the time a 3rd or 4th LT is named. as decided by 14 year olds (alternate LT) 1st team All Pro team doesn't care about the playoffs or injuries, there are no alternates 1st team All Pro WR = 2 WR 1st team Pro Bowl = 4 WR It's like it is double?!? If you happen to be a WR in the playoffs..... It's almost like the 1st team All Pro team is half the size of the Pro Bowl team, before alternates! Who knew?!?! Such an epiphany! It's almost like the second All-Pro team was like the second Pro-Bowl team starters, but was named something different?!?! DUHHHH All Pro > Pro Bowl by a mile 2nd team All pro >= Pro Bowl DUHHH
  6. Beane did not draft Milano, Dawkins or White. That was McDermott and Whaley/ assistants
  7. Is that you? We were the first Jason Peters fan club!
  8. So that means a 3rd this year can't be spent on a S? We just carry on with our mistakes? I want OL and WR in round 1 and 2 I want OL and WR in FA After that S is an important (in this defense) and glaring hole. Who is your starting S tandem next year? Old Spinal injured, 1 year on contract Hyde? Heart Attack Hamlin? Was a CB now a S Benford? S is a need on this team. It was last year.
  9. OMG you are in your own echo chamber Hyde is not guaranteed to be Hyde next year. He had a spinal injury. (see Aaron Williams) These guys are not robots. Even if Hyde is back 100% he is 31 and on the last year of his contract. Why would you not spend a 3-4th on a young stud S who could learn from him?
  10. I want 1 WR and one OL in FA. I want 1 WR and one OL in rounds 1 and 2. Round 3 or 4 needs to be a S. This defense crumbles without good S play. I pointed to an example of the type of S you can get in round 3. Not that hard to see. I wanted a S in round 2 last year to learn from Poyer and Hyde, and get garbage time play in to inherit Poyer's position. Myopic reply.
  11. Your post clearly said 'acquired'. Acquiring a player could be through FA/Waiver claim or trade. You also clearly pointed out 'established QB' changes which means older QBs moving on. Not all of them do, but look at recent history. Yes, Aaron Rodgers to NY Jets would be a huge problem. Stop being a homer. My examples both hold as to why your original post was silly. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers 'acquired' a QB in Tom Brady. They won a Super Bowl in his first year. BTW he beat a 'drafted the right way' QB in Mahomes. The Los Angeles Rams 'acquired' a QB in Matt Stafford. They won a Super Bowl in his first year. BTW he beat a 'drafted the right way' QB in Burrow. The young AFC studs are 0-2 in recent Super Bowls. Feels like the late 80-90s again. Better balanced and built NFC teams are beating the young studly guns in the AFC again. Those who do not understand history repeat it. Your post was silly, and you want to argue semantics for being wrong. As for LA. They were mortgaging the future with Goff. I would gladly take a Lombardy and a 2 yr rebuild than continuing to fall short and f&*k up in a 5 year window. Buffalo is not too far off of LA or Tampa with roster, cap space or draft picks, and have nothing to show for it. The trophy case at OBD is still empty and dusty. Worry about the dynasty after actually winning one.
  12. Today you can not count on Hyde or Hamlin being available day 1. That is the simple truth. Bills should have drafted a S last year, in a deep S class, with Poyer and Hyde being 1 and 2 years from being 30+ yr old FA. The only way this defensive scheme works is with excellent S play and an effective pass rush. Poyer is sadly probably gone. but he is over 30 and becoming injury prone. Hyde has 1 year left on contract, is 31 and has a spinal injury. Hamlin had a heart attack on the field. How is S not a top 1-2 need??? You sound foolish.
  13. Agreed. part of the tight cap situation this offseason is voidable years chewing up space. As for restructuring to make space, a lot of that was done last offseason. That is how Buffalo got under the cap and were able to sign Von Miller.
  14. This is why I mentioned a S taken in the 3rd. Can find difference makers at S in the 3-4 rounds. One does need to be drafted. Any FA money should be WR/ OL and then double down high up in the draft
  15. I agree S is a need. Mentioned it during and leading to draft last year during a very deep S class. While I don't disagree with the basis of your point, I'd rather spend very limited cap space on known difference makers at positions like WR/ Pass rusher (who is not Methusala) and draft OL/S/RB/CB. Doesn't mean not drafting the other positions, but get known quantities at WR/Edge. This regime does do well with developing DBs if they can play. Hassan Reddick was available for 3/$45 million. Young, proven record of pass rushing. Ironically one of the few former Panthers we didn't get 🤣 Some good mid tier WR (#2 types) became available throughout last season. Claypool/ JuJu etc. Maybe a Brandin Cooks or that type is available this year. Andre Cisco (S- Jax) was taken in the 3rd round 2021 and was establishing himself as an enforcer by the end of the season (2nd season)
  16. I remember the good old days, like just last offseason, when making such a statement branded someone a heretic and their fanhood was challenged.
  17. Umm Hyde is 2nd team All Pro 2x (2017, 2021) and PB 1x (2017)
  18. Beane had nothing to do with the 2017 draft. That was all McDermott and Whaley's scouts. Other than getting Allen it was the best draft in the McDermott era, but it was not part of the Beane era and he should get 0 credit for it.
  19. The last two super bowls were won exactly by doing this. Tampa (Brady-FA) and Los Angeles (Stafford-Trade) both just won the last two Super Bowls over all the 'young studs' in the AFC doing exactly this.... woof
