We had more than BAL.

Man. Rough couple weeks. Bills brought back to reality and actually a worse reality than most even expected with this defense. Now this trade. Yannick was the one player available that would have helped the Bills the most. That move really sucks.

The process...the wizard...yawn. Sadly this team could end up being worse than last year despite the improvements on offense. I know people will see how do you know we didnt try, etc. But we had a much bigger need than the ravens so could have offered something more. This was the type of move this team needed.

There have been a lot of options. Since last season ended, to the draft to now. They drafted Moss...

Add in Spain release today. You got deactivated Murphy and Phillips. Spain released. Those are all worse than losing snaps. That is not even in a uniform. Not trying to read too much into things but add in a lot of seemingly questionable injuries with guys not playing. Has some feeling of losing the locker room.

What is Wrong With the Defense

Scary. -
It is more about how we use our weapons. Not many teams have WR talent like Diggs, Brown and Beasley then throw in a G Davis and McK. Our TE's are weak, butb this staff seemed high on Knox and Kroft. Had some upgrades and they passed on guys like Henry, Hooper, etc. Same goes with RB. Could have upgraded from Singletary, Moss, Yeldon but this is the group they wanted. They liked the Singletary / Moss combo. There were a number of better options in the draft or FA. Gurley, Gordon and Peterson all available. Dobbins, Gibson or Kelley in draft.

This is the NFL. You have a small group of dominant teams and awful teams. The rest in the middle are toss ups and success is usually based on what teams that play that year, when they play them and injuries. In weeks 2-4 the Bills showed glimpses of maybe being one of the dominant teams. The past two weeks have shown they are likely still part of the midlings.

Classic over reaction. Never heard of the guy and he played. I remember a play he did something so he must be great. -
Njoku will help the O On D we need to look into a few names: Shelby Harris in DEN Q Williams in NYJ Atkins and Dunlap in CIN Griffen in MIN Tomlinson in NYG McKinley in ATL

Part could be confidence. Part could be confusion. Part could be excitement.

What is Wrong With the Defense

Mahomes - The weather sucks, the turf is slippery and the ball is wet. Oh, it would be nice if we can establish a run game and make this a bit easier on me. 10 yard run, 8 yard run, 7 yard run, 12 yard run. Mahomes - Yeah, I am good. I will just sit back and watch my OL and RB embarrass the other team. -
I know this has been the narrative but is it true? What are the bloated contracts they stripped? Watkins was on a rookie deal. Darby was on a cheap deal. Dareus was underperforming his deal so yes. Ragland and Seymour were not on big deals. Woods signed a deal for 5 / $34M. I am not sure I would pay that for him but he would have been our best WR until Diggs and is still in the Beasley / Brown pay range. Gilmore - Signed a big deal but has also been one of the best in the league. Goodwin - This was not about money. He had no role with the Bills. Robey-Coleman - Cheap and not about money. Gillislee - He was cheap and we ended up signing Ivory for more, so not sure about this. The only real issues were Taylor, Dareus and Glenn. Most of the other contracts were non-issues. You get rid of those three guys and it changes the cap situation fast. Other moves were more about getting their own guys.

This team has made progress. Whether it has been fast enough is debatable. Obviously any team will have an easier time beating bad teams than good teams. The concern with McD Bills is that can look very uncompetitive and over matched vs good teams.

Bills are the 5th best team in the AFC

Bills based on how they look and not just scores: Not better than KC, TEN, BAL or PIT. Very close with CLE, IND and LAV I think it will be Bills battling it out with MIA and NE for a playoff spot. -

Clowney is an end that can help stop the run. -

Just like the score of this game. What is on paper does not tell the whole story. Clowney is a disruptive force. We have no one like that on this team. Watch Clowney play and tell me how many times he is getting manhandled and pushed 5 yards downfield. -

Here is what is even more scary: We have $45M in cap space dedicated to Addison, Murphy, Hughes, Butler, Jefferson. Honestly they all could be replaced... -

A plan to force the run does not include giving up 6+ yards per run. Why even risk passing if you can run it for 6 at will. Takes 12-15 plays and 6-8 minutes off the clock. But on a slippery night the chiefs take that all the time and avoid any injuries. -

KC led 13-10 and here are its next three possesions: 82 yard drive for TD eating 8 minutes of clock 75 yard drive for FG eating 5 minutes of clock 75 yard drive for FG eating 5 minutes of clock So 3 drives going basically the entire field and eating 18 minutes of clock. That is not a good defense. Sorry. -

Jauron game but he would have held KC to 17 and lost 17-10. -

KC knew before the game and was even more pleasantly surprised that they could beat us running the ball. Easy day at the office for them. Mahomes and the WR basically had a bye week. Meanwhile our D looks like it needs a nap and long vacation. Our O is back to looking more like a gadget broken play offense of prior years than what we saw week 2-4.
