Go watch both games. The Chiefs dominated the majority of the game. The Bills led the entire game. The Chiefs had a long stretch in which they could go on auto pilot. The game was seemingly in out of reach territory. The Bills game was high intensity nearly the entire game. The LAC have played well but no one would call them a playoff team. Some still think the Bucs are playing in the Super Bowl.

What is a gloomer? I wonder what I am called... I tend to side with the analytical and what I would consider rational thoughts. I dont to hear this team is going to blow it because they are the Bills and thats what they do. I also dont want to here Beane is a magician after signing Bill Jenkins from the AFL. It can be hard to have an honest conversation on these boards. A last minute loss to AZ in a game we should have won and sloppy win vs LAC should lead to some "where is this team" discussion. I am excited for the SF and PIT games because I think they will be telling about what kind of team this is. This year feels wide open despite KC and PIT records. We are a team that can score which means any playoff game is winnable. What will beat this team is keeping the ball away from them via long drives. This D will need to step it up and show it can stop good teams from having multiple 8+ min TD drives.

I dont buy it either. Just like saying we should have won the AZ game. We didnt. Point of most of this thread though is saying this game was not even close. Yes it was. The fact there is even a would Could have, would have, should have debate shows that. We won who cares, but it is ok to admit it was a close game.

Prove it mode - If the Bills won the Super Bowl last year no one would even question them or close wins. When you are unproven your quality of wins, etc will be talked about. That game could have easily turned out differently. Bass misses the FG and we are likely headed to OT. We had our starters out there and were at 110% intensity until the final minute.

If Brown is out then this makes sense for the Bills. Even as a 4th WR that can spread the field. He would open up things for Beasley and Diggs much more than Davis is ever going to.

Should have called it a more positive version. You are right if all goes well Bills finish up 4-1. Ideally Bills have it wrapped by week 17 and have a meaningless game.

Had to edit to add the positive version: Bills go 4-1 down the stretch. Loss to PIT and beat SF, DEN, NE, MIA. End at 12-4. NE goes 1-4 and beats NYJ but losses to LAC, LAR, MIA, BUF. They finish at 6-10. MIA goes 3-2 beating CIN, LAV, NE and losing to KC and BUF. They finish at 10-6. (If MIA loses to LAV then they beat the Bills 3rd stringers). Bills win division and NE gets a top 10 draft pick.

So what happens to PIT next game and with the Bills the following week? They play Wed and then have the Sunday game moved to Monday? Or do they push that game to the end of the year and Steelers get extra time for the Bills?

While I agree that we can have a playoff run. The timing is a bit off coming off this win. Nothing from the last two weeks shouts "now is the time". The team has looked better. We have looked above average on O and average on D lately. Earlier we were dominant on O and bad on D. Allen is in a mini slump - watch the film dont just say how dare you say that. The D is playing slightly better but still not there yet and may never be this season. We need to get back to dominant on O and average to even above average on D for a time is now post.

Well comparing only AFC teams keeps the teams more consistent in common opponents. But expanding to NFC: PIT 3-0, KC is 2-0, TEN is 2-2, BUF is 3-3, CLE is 1-1, MIA is 2-2, IND is 2-2

KC is also Super Bowl champ and not still in prove yourself mode. They have the mindset of winning it all. In addition they beat won 5 games by 2 TD's or more. The Bills have won 0 by that margin. Doesn't matter. It all just shows it was a close game. The fact a FG being made or missed shows that. The Bills hung on by a thread. The starting D was on the field until the final whistle. Would be nice to let some guys get some time off late in the game once in while...

Halftime - Bills up 17-6 Bills get ball to start half and score so up 24-6. LAC score on their first drive and convert 2 pt conversion - 24-14 Bills punt on next possession. LAC gets ball at 20 and drive down to Bills 25. They go for it on 4th rather than kick field goal. Would have made it a 7 point game. Bills fumble on next possession. LAC drive down to Bills 7. Have to settle for field goal. Game is now 24-17. Bills fumble next possession. Bills D forces punt Bills intercepted LAC intercepted Bills kick FG to push lead to 10 LAC gets ball and drives from own 12 to Bills 1 with 1min left. They have no clue and waste the clock. Game over. This was a one score game much of the second half. It required the Bills D to make some stops and get an Int. Some dumb play by the LAC help as well. This was not a blow out. The 24-6 lead lasted one drive and was back to a 10 point game and could have easily turned into a blown lead.

Yes many games are close. But it is also a fact that the Bills have struggled more than other teams in the 2nd half. Most points allowed or close to it.

The good news is we are getting to close to the point you can say "who cares how we win vs crappy teams". What we need to prove is we can beat a team like PIT in a couple weeks.

Steelers are 10-0 and outscoring opponents by 124 points... We are 1-2 vs current AFC playoff teams. PIT is 2-0, KC is 1-0, TEN is 2-2, CLE is 1-1, MIA is 0-1, IND is 1-2

Ugly win. It happens. Better than an ugly loss. The concerning parts if you want to dig into it... We had two weeks to prepare and came out flat and game plan did not seem great. How the heck do you keep running plays right at Bosa? Hail Mary's - This team has given up 3 straight hail mary's. One was a push off that was negated but they still are looking to catch the ball instead of knocking it down. Sloppy play, penalties. Allen has thrown for ~150yds or less in 3 of 6 games. 4 ints in last 4. Still have not won a game by >10.

Haha. One reason why...Chad Hall. Try a few reasons why but number one reason is a guy names Stefon Diggs. Number two is an improved Josh Allen. Not trying to hate on Chad Hall but there are a ton of WR coaches that would be successful with the throwing the ball as much as we do, this QB and WR's.

We it does show passes being completed and TD's being caught. The fact he has been hurt and what has been seen, I would feel confident the full tape shows him not playing as well. Still our best corner by far.

Can we lobby to have CAR and all ex CAR players removed? It would help this team dramatically.

Yes, obviously more thorough analysis with coaches, tape, knowing the assignments, etc. could be done. But from the eyeball test he is getting beat more than normal. He gave up 0 TD's last year and already 2 this year. QB'S have a 90 qb rating vs 40 last year when throwing his way.

If you watch the games White is definitely not his normal self this year. Hopefully injuries and not aging or igotpaiditis setting in.

Fluke play and 9 out of 10 times wont happen. But yes, Addison and White both had plays to be made. Addison goes for sack and takes bad angle letting Murray get off a better pass. Then white Jumps with both arms up trying to catch the ball; he jumps with one he gets higher and knocks it down.

Bills would have played 8 of 16 games vs playoff teams in this scenario. Battle tested.

Diversity - 3rd round picks in following two drafts if another team hires a Head Coach/GM of color from your team. I know a lot of people arent happy with Leslie Frazier. If he gets hired as a head coach somewhere (unlikely but possible) the Bills pick up 2 3rd rounders.
