A.J. Klein was a massive miss in free agency As the Bills were trying to protect Matt Milano, who they brought in mainly on third downs, Klein got a lot of run again at linebacker. On the Jets’ second drive, he allowed a 2nd-and-long conversion because he was slow in coverage, then Klein missed a tackle on a run fill the next play. That’s why he’s here; to stop the run. He’s a liability for the Bills’ defense and Buffalo paid him too much money for this kind of return. Even former UDFA Tyrel Dodson was getting run ahead of him until he also was hurt.

I would argue part of this is due to the back ups being so bad. Klein should not be on the field. If they had even a decent backup it would be a different situation.

Eyeball test for Bass does not look good. Rarely do you see perfect through the upright kicks. It is weir. Clearly he has power yet he just seems to never hit the ball right or something. Heck, maybe it is the holder or the snapper. I want to believe they see him nailing perfect 60 yarders at practice.

I agree. And look at the contract that Dareus signed vs Williams. Not always fair, but potential is sometimes valued much more than heart. I could see the same thing happening here - Milano either walks or gets paid much less than Edmunds. But Edmunds never lives up to pay, while Milano earns it.

Your opinion, my opinion. I would bet money that if there was an NFL draft held right now that Edmunds would still get picked higher than Milano. I just think people see him as having a much higher ceiling.

The calendar age aspect is more from a physical standpoint than mental standpoint. If your talking who you keep that plays into it in that you could expect a longer lifespan out of Edmunds. No guarantees. I would no give Edmunds the 2nd contract if come contract time he still makes the mistakes he is making, those need to be righted. I just see Milano as a solid good LB. You keep him if you can but dont over pay. Edmunds has the potential to be a superstar. Clearly not there yet though.

Milano is a much more replaceable player. He is an above average player, but should not be overvalued because the Bills failed to find a decent back up. It should not be such a big drop off. Milano is 26; Edmunds is 22. Milano has peaked. He is an overachiever given his physical abilities. Edmunds has a long way to go. He has size and speed that cannot be taught. In 3 years from now Edmunds will be the much better player in my opinion.

This is also the first year you could say they have a legit chance for a deep playoff run. Is there any team in the AFC they could not play with? Until the past few weeks many on this board and in the national would call them a contender. These past weeks highlighted that they need help. A one year rental to make a playoff run why not? They want the compensation they would get back. Maybe that comes into play if they have other offers but they would not turn it down because of that.

I am saying - people say how is that a realistic trade. Then they do get traded. If there are trade rumors why not the Bills? Baltimore with less cap space than us gets Yannick for peanuts.

When the get traded elsewhere...just like with Yannick folks are saying no way he gets traded, would cost too much etc.

I think the Bills need moves on the Defense anywhere. The offense could use help at TE, possibly RB and OL depth. List any realistic targets: Defense DT - Atkins, Q Williams, Tomlinson, Jarrett DE/LB - Dunlap, Fowler, Kerrigan, Hewitt DB - Poole, King, Gilmore Offense TE's - Rudolph, Fells or Njoku WR's - Will Fuller or John Ross RB's - Breida, Freeman, Lindsay

They call this all day now. I dont like it but it is there to protect the players. And they called it defenseless receiver not helmet to helmet. The rule is so subjective - if it is not a big hit you can hit the received to make him drop the ball, but if it is a big hit then you cant.

If your team has a RB then the running stats get skewed. Allen has so many TD's because the Bills give it to him more than the RB's down at the goal line. That is not to say a running QB does not have value. But it needs to be used wisely like the Hawks with Wilson. Allen's running stats were in big part due to his deficienciescinces as a passer his first two years.
